Dear Community,
We have decided to remove our proposed fork of the Talkcoin code and resign from the project for the following reasons:
- We didn't expect the dev to return after a month offline and consequently all this negativity and FUD is putting the final nails in the coffin of a coin that had already experienced a long and steady decline in price and market confidence.
- The developer gave no updates for 2 months while Talkcoin was being dumped and only started communicating again recently after receiving 560,000+ TAC from mining and voting for development costs. Of these funds, around 20% were paid in bounties and we still got no answers as to where the remainder went.
- Even though we did our best to explain to the exchanges about the lack of communication on the existence of the devfund and the -votedev command, this was not enough evidence for the exchanges to switch to the new fork with the dev returning and active on the forum. If we were to continue and fork the network under these circumstances, it is bad for everyone involved.
- The team is exhausted from the constant trolling and we would rather spend our energy and $ on a new project that isn't controlled by someone that doesn't share our vision or long term outlook for a coin. Nor do we want to work with a developer that refuses to work openly or as part of a team.
We would like to thank all the investors, miners and the pools xHash.net, MineP.it, DwarfPool.com and Suprnova.cc who supported us plus special thanks to Aizen and bushstar, and we are sorry that we have to retract our takover now to prevent a fork in the network that would only make things worse. We would strongly suggest to everybody now that you hold the developer accountable to follow through on his recent promises and to provide a clear roadmap and updates as to what is being developed.
We also recommend the community ask that the developer starts to be upfront about what funds he is collecting from the mining rewards and how funds are being spent, as this will go a long way to rebuilding trust in the community as well.
We did our best to rescue the situation, we are sorry we could not achieve this for everyone involved.
Best,
Andy (Talkteam), Chris (Ignition75), Dom (djm34), Atef (karimdr2) & Crz
