Yikes.  150 diff.  That sucks.  Might be a record?  Moved my two rigs back over earlier.  Will be keeping at least one there hopefully from now on.  I was chasing some quick profits for a few days to fund my new rigs (if I ever manage to see some GPUs available anywhere Tongue )... also got some EAC but it appears most of the pools have been under attack at one point or another the last couple of days.

TAG is a good performer.  With the swings in difficulty, it still averages out to being a top 10 or 15 most profitable coin if you just set it and forget it.  It looks like the string of orphans was a fluke.

No more 6 GPU rigs for me.  Getting 5 to work seems effort free, but that sixth GPU adds a thick layer of challenges.  Once you get it working though, seems solid enough.  Right now I'm struggling to get the sixth card to throttle up... stuck at 500/150 and pushing 72kh/s.  I had the same problem with the first one I built and fixed it so I'll just reference the notes I took.  Oh... oops.

I think TAG is one of the extremely few (if not the only) coins which could make it to a more well known exchange, such as BTCe.

I wonder if Mark has thought of contacting them?

I don't know if Mark would be receptive to the idea.  BTC-E trading would mean massive pumps and dumps, and an upswing in price.  It wouldn't be a stable price like he's been banking on for retailers.  Also, it would almost entirely eliminate the need for an internal exchange, which needs to happen for his business model to succeed.  Essentially Taggers/retailers need to be able to swap currencies on the fly.  BTC-E can't do that.

But BTC-E trading would be nice for a weekend of trading Smiley

Fuse,

You should have sent me a PM, I would bought your TAG for USD...

24Kilo

Well, shite...  I'll keep that in mind next time.  Well, every 1st week of the month I will need to sell a little to cover server fees.  Other than that, I'll be putting up a little every week just to feed the exchange.

Nice to see a little liveliness in the prices of crypto.  Too bad the difficulty of TAG went so damn high along with it.

Like I said in the ANN thread, I can't see it.  Huh

There was absolutely no movement on it for hours, so I took it down.  I needed to cash out for server fees, so I needed to sell it quick.  I'll be putting more up next Saturday.  I won't need the quick cash out, so it will stay up until it is sold.

I just posted 70TAG on the tagbond exchange for 0.00096BTC each.  Cryptsy price ATM is 0.001BTC.

Have at it.

I did a F43 flash on the Gigabyte 7950s I had.  Easy peasy.  Just make a bootable usb, put the ATIflash utility and the bios bin file on it and run the command.  IMO the F43 bios is stellar on those WF3 Rev.2 cards.

The WF3 have a little switch by the crossfire ports... you'd never know it was there unless you looked.  You can run two bios versions on those cards.  Flip the switch, flash the bios, and you've got a backup of the old bios if needed on switch position 1.

I flashed my Gigabyte 7950s to an earlier bios so I could undervolt them.  Worked fine.  Do your cards have a switch on them so you can use the 2nd bios if the flash fails?

I am not mining TAG at all at the moment... just could not keep up the grind over at TAG.cryptopool.IT.. we had a 24hour block... and I have 9.5Mh/s hitting it. I don't think we have any orphans, but then we have only been getting 4 to 5 blocks per 24 hours.

Sorry to hear about the bad luck on both netcoin and the PSU... hope that you are back and running soon.

I am making it my goal to get one of my miners on BAMT... but the whole process is wrecking my brain.

I have all of my 280X's running at 700Kh/s or better... average of about 725Kh/s over 12 cards.

Has anyone here ever flashed a GPU BIOS... been thinking of flashing one of my Gigabyte Rev 2 cards with the Rev 1 Bios.

So I let some of my systems mine netcoin for almost a whole day. I check my account.. I have like 500 some coins, out of an estimated 3,500. I was like, wtf. I checked the block logs.. just my luck, the pool I was on had like a 16 hour marathon on one block, and shortly after I left they started hitting them hourly. Roll Eyes

Couple of cards which were having issues, I put the prolimatech on them, they're more stable and not having issues now. GPU0 has always run hot, even when I first got it. Now, it's not doing too terribly at all. It's sitting above the PSU fan exhaust right now which accounts for a couple C* of heat, but I'm happy it's below the mid 80's it usually wanted to be at.

Yay for reviving GPUs. GPU0 has 2 of the 140mm Prolimatech Ultrasleek Vortex fans. Silent, and each run 98cfm. The other GPU has the normal Vortex fans, 87CFM. This is why the RPMs are different. When the fans are set to 100%, GPU0 drops into the 60's.

Figured I'd share. I'm just happy the cards are running again. Happy Mining.

Hmm.. That's strange. 6 orphans in the last 10 hours and they were in three lots of consecutive blocks??  Anyone got an explanation.  Seems unlikely that it was random bad luck.

I posted up the question in the main coin thread... it's happening on all the pools.  I'm a bit confused about it, as it only really started in the last week.  We did have an orphan about a week and a half ago, but it was one.

I restarted all the services and checked the cronjobs thinking it was just the pool, but then I started checking other pools.

If I had to put money on it, I'd say we're going to see a wallet patch coming out soon.

Congrats to the winners!

I don't make enough to replace my job, that would be nice. Maybe one day.

I figured out why one of my miners died, PSU has given up the ghost. It has run non stop for awhile now, and I had to shut it down the other day for a few moments. That's all it took, something gave. It was a Raidmax 1000AE, supporting 980watts.

It'll power up a motherboard, but the 12v rail can't take a load.

That sucks, Vesper.  Almost sounds like what was going on with Johndec not too long ago.

I'm surprised no one has found a way to modify industrial power supplies to drive mining equipment.

Wouldn't be hard in my mind.. 12VDC is 12VDC, anything providing 30 amps per GPU would work.

As to the orphans.. who knows.. maybe nobody is using tag? lol

4th Jackpot

Alrighty folks, here's the info:

There were 358 total rounds for the week.  To be eligible for this jackpot, you would have needed to submit shares to 75% of those rounds, equaling 268 rounds.  There were 19 people, my 2 accounts, who qualified for the jackpot.  This was out of 156 miners who mined on the pool this week.  The qualifying miners are as follows:

ahczbhht1989
anchous
Andrewgaven
Bodamn
clxy
Eukaluis
flywin
FusesDad  (excluded from jackpots)
johndec
kubur
ny2cafuse  (excluded from jackpots)
Sergik
TagCoinDaddy
vantaggg
vesperwillow  (previous week win - excluded)
weatherman12
wgs520
xmwxw
zybqe177

This week's and last week's total fees and donations equal roughly 240TAG, about the same as last week.  So half of that, the total jackpot purse, is 120TAG.

This week's winners are as follows:

1st place -  Eukaluis              60TAG  -TXID 0273a9b79a8ed5bd4c4e69130e8ec755a646a6b875738df540a78161a046f7d0
2nd place - Andrewgaven   36TAG  -TXID 6abbaaaf1203a22a743d964da5d5bd86b0301c74f93314734ed5122a9548dbee
3rd place -  wgs520             24TAG  -TXID 7b7273b491bfb143e3a91467a9c601a0efb178ccdf63840c65edaf2a9d9b07a0

Payments will be sent shortly, and TXID numbers will be posted above.

Congratulations, miners!  Good luck to everyone next week!
