thanks for the feedback renbit

Let me quote you and remark what you have said

1) check your block count against the one on the block explorer,
2) if it's wildly variant:
2.1) consider reloading the blockchain from the bootstrap

This way we can get all users on the same fork, and the network should speed up and become less buggy.

I've made this little tutorial for the bootstrap

tell me your thoughts and how can be improved!

Then it will be included in the OP

Thanks

How to sync your Tesla wallet faster
(Bootstrap)

If you just arrived to TeslaCoin and you want to get involved, you will have to download a wallet and start to sync with the network.
This means you have to download the blockchain from your peers (the network).
Has you can expect this will take some time and it can vary from hours to days.
So, in order to do it faster, you will download the bootstrap

What is the bootstrap?
The bootstrap is the blockchain zipped to be downloaded directly, not from your peers.
This will help you sync in less time, from minutes to hours.

Just follow the instructions and enjoy your Tesla Wallet!

1) Download the wallet
2) Download the bootstrap
3) Uncompress the bootstrap folder
4) Run the Tesla wallet and then close it.
5) Go to Roaming folder > Teslacoin folder
6) Replace the archives in the Teslacoin folder with the ones downloaded in the bootstrap.
 Replace only the repeated archives.

I have recently had to reload using the bootstrap , I used the link supplied by boycaj and it has put me in sync with the block explorer and bittrex.
I think there is a possibility that some users are out of sync or on a wrong fork as the network has become very sluggish which previously has been indicative of users on different forks. So it is advised that if anyone is experiencing these problems also that they check their block count against the one on the block explorer,  if it's wildly variant then consider reloading the blockchain from the bootstrap, so we can get all users on the same fork, and the network should speed up and become less buggy.

little tutorial for recovering your TES from an old wallet

tell me your thoughts and how can be improved!

How to recover your TES
from an old wallet

First, welcome back to TES Wink

Second, in your wallet, get into the console
(Help > Debug window)

2) Type in:

a) checkwallet
(identifies misspent coins)

then

b) repairwallet
(rectifies the error)

And it should be ok now! Smiley

I use this method everytime I have a problem with the wallet freezing, or not syncing up, and it usually fixes it.
It is advised especially after resyncing using the bootstrap or starting a new wallet from scratch and importing your wallet.dat or private keys.
Sometimes you will need to repeat the check and repair a few times until you get the all clear.

SUPPORT the TESLA NETWORK

STAKE YOUR COINS

PoS Coins require "Staking" to process transactions through the blockchain and keeping it from getting stuck.
Once it gets stuck it requires patience till it frees up.

Thanks for your diligence in supporting TESLA!

I finally got my wallet to sync with the network using the bootstrap, but now all my TES are gone, all 55k. I still see my old transactions I have from the past.

Anyway to get my TES back?

This coin was deved in the honor of Nikola Tesla, not Elon Musk.
Yes the coin was developed in honour of Nikola Tesla but it would be ok if Elon Musk wants to get involved Wink [whenever you're ready mate]

For missing coins
you can try opening the debug window inside the help folder and typing

checkwallet

repairwallet

into the console.
 ?
the first command identifies misspent coins the second command rectifies the error

If you do this as renbit explained, you will get your coins back. Please confirm you got it solved.

Berkeley DB version warning

A warning for people using the static binary version of Bitcoin on a Linux/UNIX-ish system (tl;dr: Berkeley DB databases are not forward compatible).

The static binary version of Bitcoin is linked against libdb4.8 (see also this Debian issue).

Now the nasty thing is that databases from 5.X are not compatible with 4.X.

If the globally installed development package of Berkeley DB installed on your system is 5.X, any source you build yourself will be linked against that. The first time you run with a 5.X version the database will be upgraded, and 4.X cannot open the new format. This means that you cannot go back to the old statically linked version without significant hassle!

What this means is that you will have problems opening a 4.X wallet on a 5.X system, but there are tools to convert them. I have myself built TeslaCoin-Qt with Berkeley DB version 5.3:
Code:
ldd bin/TeslaCoin-Qt
...
libdb_cxx-5.3.so => /usr/lib/libdb_cxx-5.3.so (0x00007fb175f4a000)
        ...
That should not cause problems I think, but I recommend building the headless Teslacoind daemon from my repo because there is additional stuff that needs to be done with the Teslacoin-qt.pro file that I have not performed. They are described in the BottleCaps-thread I linked to above.

Edit:

Just a thought, you're having problems with not enough nodes right?
Why don't you use a seeder?
I see 3 domains with seeder address, put it to use!
