Yep,the other day i read how google is developing 4th genration of the autonomous vehicles,that dont even have steering wheel.I think we are few years away from going to mass production.
Yep,may other companies are working on this,its basicly a race who will be first.
There is huge amount of money in this,so no wonder race is fierce.
Yep,whoever made it first will make alot of money.And by then DAV will be fully operational and ready to be market leader!

Such technologies exist, but they're in early stages.
Yes, very early stages. It requires alot of bandwith to get this to be immersive, and atm this is very costly

If the vehicles will have live streaming, any chance to integrate it with VR?
Such technologies exist, but they're in early stages.
Are there enough autonomous vehicles on the market for this kind of network to develop?
There are, and in the future there will be even more.

Yes, big oil tankers and coal carriers are mostly automated
