Really happy to see the involvement of RED's CEO Armand Domuta to the blockchain revolution! Here's another great article about the importance and the impact that the blockchain can have for the household consumer.

https://medium.com/fintech-weekly-magazine/blockchain-is-becoming-a-thing-as-people-are-relying-on-it-to-get-energy-for-their-homes-ae92f86605ff
The blockchain is used in a very unique way by RED. Not only is the blockchain the transparent and trustworthy technology needed for an enerrgy token project, but also knowing that RED has 100% green energy, this is a perfect project for both people and the planet. Hopefully more people will understand the importance of green energy for the planet!

Different approaches, different risks.

From what I read, participation in the Powerledger system will depend on having a smart meter.
Client have to buy a meter and manage to install it, maybe with the help of local powerledger users community if such will be existing.
Looks like a drawback but it has a chance for gradual development.

Restart intends to rely mainly on franchisees who could organize installation of meters for their clients.
Franchisees should be able advertise RED locally, check if someone haven't tampered with his meter, accept payments in arrears, and perform other useful functions.

Approaches of both teams seem justifable to me (with slight bias towards Restart).
Probably the team that will work harder will "win".

Hey zbig001
Thank you for the detailed Comprehension.
In regards to the meters   Smart meters are installed upstream & client-side, in order to measure energy consumption and ensure efficiency for the wider network (especially via usage prediction patterns), while offering control and detailed information to homeowners. This means that while the supplier (RED/ franchise partners) handle the logistics, the hardware gets installed in the general circuit board, and counts as part of their home electricity network.

Of course he is involved lol He is the President of the Blockchain Association of Romania, and the CEO of Restart Energy - company that has mwat, witch is based on blockchain. It's common sense to be that involved and passionate about the main idea of hes field of interest.

Nice comparison of the two projects. I feel that since it will take quite a bit of initiative to get people to install the smart meters (as change always required effort), the fact that Restart put the effort in the hands of the Franchise is a big plus for them. It just makes both the change over to the red platform and the idea itself more accessible to non-tech folk.

I like the concept of enabling people to sell their (solar) energy to other households and cutting out the middlemen. I am just wondering what are the differentiators of SunContract with similar projects as Powerledger, Restart Energy. Also I wonder which of these projects already have a product that you can use today, as far I am aware Restart Energy had an existing business before their ICO, not sure how far the crypto currency part of this project is developed. If I compare the market cap of Restart Energy with Powerledger I see an upside of 10x the price of they just get to the market cap of Powerledger, do you think that is achievable?

Hey there Astrilian
You can find some similarities between the projects. I'm not really familiar with SunContract, but it seems they are mainly focusing on solar panels where RED is able to supply energy from multiple sources.
If you wish yo have a better knowledge of each project, you better check the following articles:
 https://btcmanager.com/blockchain-meets-energy-industry-analysis-powr-mwat-wpr-slr/
http://crypto-prospect.com/hot-icos-watch-wepower-vs-restartenergy/

As you mentioned, Restart Energy is already a functional company with more than 30,000 customers + a functional branch is Serbia. The beta version of the platform will be released in August 2018 and after that, the platform will be officially launched.

If you wish to learn more about RED you are more than welcome to join the official community ( https://t.me/RestartEnergy ) or to read this message - https://t.me/RestartEnergy/97274

That is big news next month beta version will be released this will be game changing point for this platform which will boost the growth. If we see the comparison chart than it showing clear edge what this platform and how promising it will be in future.

Hey guys! Here's a very nice article written by Restart Energy's CEO Armand Doru Domuta, and it's about how can blockchain impact the concept of smart home! Have a nice read!

https://irishtechnews.ie/can-blockchain-make-the-smart-home-concept-accessible-for-anybody/
Although I am an investor of RED, and I have faith that Mr/ Domuta knows what he's doing, I am not a big fan of automatizing everything. I can turn on and off my vacuum by hand, I don't need an app to do that for me, I can open and close my door by my own, and if some relatives come and visit, I can give them a spare key Smiley) good job for the idea, but this is not for me!

I can appreciate your view however, when you disregard automating and blockchain you ignore the possible efficiencies savings.

2.5 mil dollars? lol this is a product that Mr. Armand could afford Smiley

Right now it is not possible to use this tech for an average person that is still very expensive there could be only few people are using this. 2.5 million dollars is very huge amount maybe after 10 years this could become affordable like normal tech.
The 2.5 mil project is the robotic technology called ASIMO. The article is not about that, only in the first paragraph is the technology mentioned. Internet of Things + blockchain is the idea that Armand is talking about. Really interesting concept! Can't wait to see how this evolves! Good job!

Actually, what Armand is trying to state here, is that you could do this much cheaper with the help of blockchain. Being a decentralized technology, blockchain could be your way of controlling all the gadgets in your home, with the condition that all of these gadgets to be connected to the internet. This is a new way for a very futuristic home, accessible for all of us. Great article! Congrats Armand!

Sweden has met the milestone of 3681 turbines this year which was target for 2030. This news shows how serious and at what level efforts are being made to shift the dependence from traditional sources towards clean ones. Since this news was shared by Restart Energy itself. I will expect some update if there is something going on behind the scene in Sweden's energy sector possibility to enter as service provider.

Hey memii

According to the roadmap of global expansion, RED should reach Sweden by 2021 (it might be sooner if a type A franchise will reach Sweden before RED does).
At this point, I don't have any update regarding Sweden.
You are more than welcome to join the official community of RED and of course follow it on social media -> https://twitter.com/RestartEnergyio
