Can anyone explain me where i find the XCP wallet? I bought some XCP on BTER and want to put it cold storage.
I only see github links but i cant compile.

If you want to put it into cold storage, you can put it on any BTC address where you own the private key. If you want to retrieve your funds from cold storage, you can then import the private key into http://counterwallet.io.

Or you can create an armory offline address:
http://support.counterparty.io/support/articles/5000004858-cold-storage-of-counterparty-assets-btc-using-armory-

Ok. so if i understand correctly, i can use BTC adresses to send my counterparty to?Huh
Only BTC addresses you have private keys. So it means you cannot send to your address in exchanges or some online wallets you don't have private keys (bitcoin.info wallet is fine).

Ok so if i make a wallet with Multibit, and safe that keys (wallet.dat & password) i am good to go?
Yes.

Any ideas on some of the topics being covered in this thread? - https://forums.counterparty.io/discussion/418/the-crossparty-protocol#latest.

Specifically the "Complementary-Chain" topic.

My initial thought on running Counterparty on two chains is that it will take resources. Resources that will no longer be going to the speediest possible development of Counterparty on Bitcoin. It's a good idea. However, I think we're a bit early to start seriously considering trying to run Counterparty on two blockchains unless there is a person or team that wants to take responsibility for the project.

Regarding your comments wondering about the migration capabilities and strategy. If I recall correctly, Adam said it would only take a day or so to migrate Counterparty to another blockchain, although I don't think he has any intention of doing so as the advantage of being on Bitcoin is so great.

Ok great, i just bought some XCP. How long does it take to send them to the counterwallet? waiting for 30 mins now. Tongue

It depends on where you bought them. The easiest way to check transaction status is by entering the addresses associated with the transaction in the search box, here: http://blockscan.com/

Mtbitcoin has also just introduced seeing zero confirmation transactions at http://blockscan.com/pending. Viewing an address will show unconfirmed tranactions as dimmed.

Can anyone explain me where i find the XCP wallet? I bought some XCP on BTER and want to put it cold storage.
I only see github links but i cant compile.

https://counterwallet.io/

ok so this is a web wllet.

is that decentralized peer 2 peer or is this hosted? sorry for my mistakes but im not so good in tech

It's not hosted; the private keys are generated client-side.

we need a simple to install desktop version.   c annot beleive it's centralised on a website!

Your password never goes to the site. it stays on your machine and the wallet is opened through some hash trickery or something. Nobody ever has access to your private key, except you.

If you just want to cold store your XCP, a bitcoin address is enough. The only thing you need to do is keep the bitcoin address private key safe.

Everybody, there is an enormous amount of misinformation going around in the press. We're working to fix that ASAP. In the meantime, please help us correct errors as you see them!

For the record:

1) Overstock.com and Counterparty are partnering to build a platform (Medici) for trading stocks on Counterparty and using Counterparty's decentralized exchange.

2) I, along with Ouziel (JahPowerBit), will continue working on the Counterparty protocol full-time. Robby and Evan will continue to work on Counterparty full-time because Medici is a front-end for Counterparty.

The Wired and Coindesk articles make it sound as though we are abandoning this project. Nothing could be further from the truth!

Thank you,
Adam

Thanks for the clarification!

I am translating XCP wallet to Chinese, it is a great project! Cheesy

Thank you! That is one of the most important steps for Counterwallet right now.

It is a tough job, I spent 7 hours on it, still 18% not done yet, I need translate 5-6000 words  Grin

Really hope finish it today, it is China 3:47PM, it seems possible to me.

Wow, good work.  I know that strong Chinese engagement has been a major factor in making BitSharesX a success so far.  Something like 2/3rds of BTSX trading volume is in the BTSX/CNY pair.

http://www.btc38.com/trade/vote_for_trade_en.html  xcp is on NO.1 for a long time, should be listed btc38 very soon!

That would  be good news!
