XCP is a layer 2 BTC chain, if some split takes place it just have to pick the most secure one to work with, your XCP don't double. Roll Eyes

hi guys a question
if bitcoin forks and everyone will get the same amount of BTC and BU, how does that effect XCP? do we also get twice as much XCP ?

Where do we go for details on what happens with XCP and XCP assets if there is a fork? It seems we have double the assets..... of xcp and your xcp based asset.....

What if it's unclear which chain is more secure for a prolonged period of time?

I still believe that the Bitcoin Unlimited demon could be patched with a modified version of addrindex (or whatever the patch is called). Everyone would then have all their assets on both chains.

@DieJohnny (and anyone interested) check out the counterparty slack. There was a good discussion there a few days ago. Probably still going. I didn't/couldn't follow real close but the answer is there for anyone who asks.

it've been a while since the last post from dev .
'maybe' they're working hard right now because he's online everyday.
let's hope the best for xcp
lets positive thinking.
that's the only thing that we can do right now, just think positive and wait for the dev to show up and give us some updates, we can't do nothing but to keep supporting good project like xcp, and the outcome will surely for the best of the community, good luck dev

Someone think xcp is a good investment?
At this phase and if we add current situation and taxes, bugs and nothing new from months, Ethereum Virtual Machine rejection I think the answer is negative. This is my opinion

But many projects using xcp, so i would buy a handfull.
I hope it will stabilize but even the code is not open source. Projects can migrate easily with such taxes you can choose another platform to use. Nothing to provide at this stage. If someone investigates carefully before starting a new project I think XCP is nearly last choice. Otherwise I think Counterparty guys will work to make things better

I am another dissapointed Counterparty believer. I used two platforms XCP and NXT to generate some tokens. Sorry for conclusion but Counterparty system is slow, a little buggy in some moments and have too high btc fees. About EVM I was waiting for this from long ago as I see there is no intention EVM to be done. Good luck to all friends and hope things are going to be improved.

No news from devs ?!
It has been months or years since anything interesting about XCP has arrived. EVM project has been abandoned, the promising Decentralized Exchange in counterwallet has no volume, betting functionnality has 0 bets, best asset is Bytcrystals, far behind Ethereum, omni assets or even a Nxt asset. BTC is pumping and XCP, based on BTC blockchain, can't even profit ?

There's lots of stuff using Counterparty, especially gaming where there's been loads of news recently. Development progress on the actual protocol itself has been slowed down because they need Segwit to be activated in order to move ahead with some stuff.

No you can generate an offline wallet with Electrum, and send the XCP to that address.

XCP exists on the Bitcoin blockchain.

And after i send XCP to that bitcoin address, i can check the balance with the explorer? (blockscan.com shows something like XCP balance) Cheesy

Yes.  XCP and XCP assets can only be sent to a bitcoin address.  There is no other kind of address that works.

Ok, thanks, do i need to already have a little BTC to the receiving addres? i'm trying to send some xcp from bittrex to electrum btc address and it's been showing pending on blockscan.com for almost 1 hour  Undecided

Later Edit : Transfer Complete Cheesy
