Hi guys, new to this forum thread. I have read an hour now, but not being  atechnical guy, it's all pretty difficult for me to understand.
Let me ask just one simple question; when I buy some XCP at poloniex, can I send them to my windows-wallet and where can I download a windows wallet?

OK me too, exact same question

You can send XCP from poloniex to your bitcoin address which you can control the private key. But if you want to send XCP, you should install Bitcoin-Qt and Counterparty wallet.
http://counterpartyd-build.readthedocs.org/en/latest/

Thanks for the info. After installing, will I be able to use the same simple bitcoin=wallet, or is it changed in such a way that a noob like me has no idea how it works anymore?

Yes, you can use the bitcoin wallet. Its not changed in anyway. You can use the wallet for both BTC and XCP

thanks,

Sorry to bother again, but  am stuck. fter installing I should do following;

"If you haven’t already, go to the bitcoind download page and grab the installer for Windows. Install it with the default options.

Once installed, type Windows Key-R and enter cmd.exe to open a Windows command prompt. ".

I really have no idea where to type; "Windows Key-R".

Th, for helping
Press windows key, hold, press 'r'

Or you can click start, and enter 'cmd' in the left bottom.

I mostly post new articles etc only to the Marketing thread, but this is quite a big, about all 2.0 cryptos, very deep, much text about Nxt:
http://www.ofnumbers.com/2014/03/04/chapter-3-next-generation-platforms/

crosspost from nxt community. this chapter is by far the best explanation on 2.0 crypto I have read, it almost has scientific quality. The part on counterparty.co is extremely positive.

IMHO, but I don't perceive an "anti-marketing sentiment". More like being conservative right now to stay behind the noise of Mtgox and Auroracoin and whatever new IPO coin of the week. Once the new website design goes up, a broader community is formed, the web wallet goes up, we get the security review done, and the GUI is improved, then absolutely go all out.

+1, valid point, good to match the PR with progress.

mastercoin omiwallet is looking to support alts (lite/peer/etc)

http://mastercointalk.org/index.php?topic=185.0

They probably not going to support XCP, but what's the strategy behind this ?

I think Omniwallet can definitely host XCP and benefit both communities. This is open source software and I would definitely recommend that the Counterparty devs reach out to Mastercoin and offer to have XCP hosted on their wallet.

The benefits to both parties is a bigger slice of a bigger pie.

So is there any difference at all between XCP and any other user created asset ? And if not, then what does that mean for the value of XCP ?

Only XCP can be used for making bets, paying betting fees, paying asset issuance fees, and calling back an asset.

The biggest use case will be bets, both simple Win/Loss bets and contracts for difference. XCP is the only asset that can facilitate bets is because no other assets can be escrowed and distributed by the Counterparty protocol.

Making sure people use their crap and give them exposure. You really had to ask the question?

I found it humorous, on the GITHUB docs, that as an example, the value of 1 XCP = 2 BTC  Grin

Order

An ‘order’ is an offer to give a particular quantity of a particular asset and get some quantity of some other asset in return. No distinction is drawn between a ‘buy order’ and a ‘sell order’. The assets being given are escrowed away immediately upon the order being parsed. That is, if someone wants to give 1 XCP for 2 BTC, then as soon as he publishes that order, his balance of XCP is reduced by one.

Someday we will look back and laugh even more when 1 XCP really equals 10 BTC. And all the CAKE will be gone.

Hi, when issuance an asset  I find a error:

 raise exceptions.RPCError('{}'.format(response_json['error']))lib.exceptions.RPCError: {'message': 'Server error', 'code': -32000, 'data': {'message': "'address'", 'args': ['address'], 'type': 'KeyError'}}

what happened to my address???my command is "counterpartyd issuance --source=1Ej2******b --asset=****--quantity=10000000 --divisible --description=""

need help. thanks

I know you might have tried this, but I would recommend downgrading to the latest version of Counterparty which is v6.3 or the master branch.

Try that with your issuance commands and then let us know what happened to you.

Hmm. I can't seem to duplicate this error. (Though there is a space missing from between the asset and quantity arguments.)

i suggest add a appraise Options in Wallet or other place
for the company who use XCP IPO,then people can see this company or people Whether Honesty
