Could Wall Street be on its way to being obsolete? That's a scenario that some cryptocurrency advocates embrace as they attempt to create a new way to sell stocks that doesn't require third-party oversight.

This tool : http://redeem.bitwatch.co/

It generates a raw hex tx. I cannot sign it with Counterwallet.

With https://coinb.in/multisig/ I have been able to verify and sign some raw txs, but not been able to push any signed tx.

This tool doesn't have working for long time. I hope someone are making new one or fix this.

he who has the gold makes the rules
You mean most of the fee can be gotten back when it expires?
A way to encode Counterparty txs is by using btc multisig. It is redeemable anytime. I don't know any good tools for redeeming multisig dust though. So you better just be patient if you plan on collecting it. I don't know if Counterwallet has switched to op_return for DEX orders. If it has, the fee is likely $0.04.

When I would use the dex for offering shares, then is it used to trade traditional shares on there too or is it practically only for gaming cards?
If you have a big bulk of shares to sell at a fixed price, then the DEX is excellent IMO. It can be used for crowdfunding for example. It's when the orders need to change rapidly that the DEX comes short. Then better use a traditional exchange.

mastercoin had the same issue, someone made some took to run against bitcoin wallet to do this dust sweep up

I now saw that every order someone creates costs a fee of at least 0.0003 bitcoin. That's $0.13 for every order. And then you have the restriction of the order staying alive for 6 days only. I guess an order can't be cancelled?

Man, this all disappoints me. I neve got the idea that it would not be possible to establish a normal orderbook on counterparty.

Guess the only option is to handle an orderbook on a thread or on otc or so. :/

For many purposes a traditional exchange is better (faster, free order placement, etc)
The DEX is quite popular for trading Spells of Genesis cards. It enables you to trade cards with anyone online at no risk.

In Counterwallet you can set the expiration through settings. The fee is unfortunately not possible to change in the GUI. If it is $0.13 I believe most of it is redeemable multisig.

Well, I'm only surprised that colored coins are not able to create a normal orderbook like on exchanges. Though I don't know much about the tech behind. It's unfortunate since it means everyone has to trade outside of the wallet. I know the dex can be included as a plugin or so but that does not help for the occasional trader. The normal trader searches the orderbook it's empty and that was it for him.

I would not want to use traditional exchanges anymore because of the security risks on there.

NXT is too difficult, high learning curve, and even though shares can be traded there paying out bitcoins as div is complicated and not working out of the box. Naturally, since shares are bound to nxt addresses and not to bitcoin addresses.

When I would use the dex for offering shares, then is it used to trade traditional shares on there too or is it practically only for gaming cards?

Any good news or what drives the price rise for Counterparty? I was expecting a rise in the shadow of ETH, NEM, MAID, ... for a couple of weeks.

The good news appears to be that people who made money on ETH would like to spread their bets and speculate elsewhere as well. What better place than a platform that can also enable all of the ETH functionality on Bitcoin?

After the fix, the price seems to be creeping up.

Maybe now that ETH, DASH, FCT, XMR, EXP ETC have all have their turns, XCP can enjoy a nice rise too.

Seems it's already occurring.... just went up by 32%

Short term upwards price movements are cool and all after a rafter of crashes.. not as nice as slow steady uptrend ofc. but more interesting metric is volume. For accurate price discovery this is a crucial element.
It's prime time to capitalize on Ethereum delerium and gain market share. as this project is superbly positioned with smart contract compatibility. It's just that's everyones forgotten.

Sidenote: A while back we were supposed to be listed on BTC38. The community voted and XCP is in first place still. However, It never ended up materializing. and CounterParty isn't present on that exchange till now.  I feel inclusion on that platform would be greatly beneficial to trade volume and allowing XCP into the hands of a more diverse base of users.

If you agree and care about this, I would encourage you to contact BTC38 at  [email protected] (email or skype) to request CounterParty's inclusion.

BTC38 was weird why they don't list when peoples vote also with their money.

Yuanbaohui.com have been interested add Counterparty and I hope they will take it and we can get finally first Chinese exchange.

Bitfinex have also look more seriously Counterparty and we maybe must start campaign it for them. So please send emails and tell them about Counterparty and what it actually is. Any other exchanges even aren't interest talk about things. When you get that auto reply message from some exchange don't stop to communicate, tell them more, explain more and make they understand.

Sell them volume and fees not only from Counterparty, but also from Storjcoin X and Bitcrystals what are really great projects. Explain them this projects also in messages what you are sending. Now when volumes have grow already if we get XCP to some exchange and get more volume it will come more easy to go next one.

Btw are in Counterparty community anyone who speak and write Chinese?

Also if someone can help make this application form full with english (also with chinese if someone can) so it is sure right. There have been discussion with them, but we can also sending this to normal support who forward it then to right guys.  http://s000.tinyupload.com/?file_id=97179928603380862332

I think it's important for to get some visibility in the main altcoin discussion section, rather than be confined to this subsection, which many do not visit. We don't really get much new exposure. Other altcoins such as Monero, Ethereum and MAID are very visible there with prominent community discussion threads, inviting opportunities for new members unacquainted with the tech to peruse and  promoting intelligent discourse.

Perhaps someone could start a Blockchain 2.0/Smart contracting thread examining and discussing the various platforms available for tokenizing and representing assets on chain, and then introduce the angle of smart securities.?

I would certainly contribute to explain all about how counterparty fits into the ecosystem, how it compares to other offerings, strengths & weaknesses and what exactly it brings to the table. I'm newbie member so I think it's better coming from someone established but will probably make it soon if no-one else does

nobody made a thread so I took the initiative to try and give it a shot.

It would be great if anyone wants to contribute anything. Talk about the reasons you invested, how counterparty fits into current crypto landscape, it's strenghts, it's weakness.. thoughts on short/medium/long term future price action or anything! the main thing is the thread is more visible.

The thread is here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/xcp-counterparty-discussion-speculation-1396194

Why are orders limited to 6 days? I checked and there is no field or option I missed when I created the order. And of course I don't want my order to disappear. Real orderbooks should start to appear but with this option it surely is very hard.

[25.2.2016 23:47:50] Judith Jakubovics: This is the most tested and most stable DEX on crypto

Why we even use Counterparty DEX what is always down and under maintenance when there is Omni most tested and stable DEX?

Have anyone comments about differences between Omni dex and Counterparty dex?

When is the Counterparty DEX "always down and under maintenance"? It's part of the protocol, so other than the brief outage we had last week (which was the first one like that we've had in a long time, over a year?), any wallet that supports the DEX will function and allow trading: Counterwallet, IndieSqaure wallet, the Chrome wallet, etc.

There may be outages of one of these wallets, but it is not an outage of the DEX itself.

Tried to send an E-mail to that addr but it failed.
I'm trying to locate their right address on their Chinese website

Hmm.. Seemed to work before. Maybe their mail servers are down. You can also try the following address:

[email protected]

I've messaged them on QQ too
