Your posts are so unproductive, instead of helping that guy, you're using his post for spreading your message (and I really don't get what is it all about in your case)
It's just ridiculous.

Anyway, here is the link showing how to sign message with bitcoin priv key which is enough to take part in the voting
https://talk.elasticexplorer.org/t/how-to-sign-a-message-with-bitcoin-private-key-bitcoin-core-blockchain-info-and-electrum/221

Let's pass on the fact that you ignored me proving my point.

I don't think that my posts are unproductive (when this is not around personal accusation). I show problems in current system.
For example you said that everyone CAN vote, and I explained you that what you saying is wrong as that person could not vote for at least two votes because he had not technical knowledge. Let's say he has 50000000 XEL... you understand problem in this? If yes, you can try to find solution to make this voting better, as I can't. I can see only the problem. So it is kind of productive, again, when it is not on personal level.

And about helping this guy... You are totally RIGHT... I was in different state of mind.

So, you really think that if someone has not enough technical knowledge, then it's a problem of the voting system?

I mean everyone CAN vote but not everyone is ABLE to vote - but that's just how it is in life, isn't it?

If the objective of voting system is to reach the most relevant result , this is indeed the problem of voting system.

Without the ability, possibility is irrelevant for voting Smiley
It's like give voting rights to someone but not to tell him when, where, or how to vote. He CAN vote indeed but not able to Cheesy

I don't know, if you were in The DAO times, but there was situation when 5% who voted on subject and this was valid voting as many even didn't know that voting take place.

And to be more productive... Wink
There are many ways to make it better: we can set minimal cap for voting, can make longer voting period, proactively send links to vote, etc...
But I think that no one of this solutions is good enough, so because of this I hope that someone else will find better solution to problem I see.

when you want to shoot shoot don't talk  Cool
As I have always welcome newbies here. However your motive is becoming clearer by every post you write. Are you always in offensive? Chill out ! These are excellent times for Elastic. We have a good team of dev ( EK, Coralreefer ,...) and your divisiveness is NOT gonna work here.  Grin

I can't believe that we can't find a motivated C dev with networking experience to work on this project. How is that possible with so much talent in these forums? Did anyone put any formal ad for this somewhere?

It's going to take more than motivation...as I mentioned in my post a while back (that got buried)...any new dev to the project is going to be working on uncharted territory and is going to have to figure out most things for themselves w/o any design or hand holding.  It's probably, going to be a little challenging to find someone that can actually provide the help this project needs.

Voting is a joke in this project.
Reason :  We don't know how much XEL so-called "Lannister" owns. It could be more than 50% easily, even 80-90%.
Just import address 3Q2aKEGFTKDw3hghsBifXp39CZVMtZukxn and behold many cash-outs he did before crowdfunding ended. Sapienti sat.

only less than 25% coin voted?

where the left XEL ?

people do not know how to vote

or they forget their private key?

I think the final number will be at least 30% less than the original 100M.

where the left 70M ?
I would not be surprised that many have not yet learned, we do not all look at this thread every day. Many people may look at it once a week or less.

@yosir "  voted 'NO' only because EK told he will vote so when he was asked," ..... I think you've got a misunderstanding, a big one. First of all the 98% YES loves EK, so go do your FUD somewhere else. Second, a good project needs independent thinkers with their own opinion that can contribute to the progress rather than creating CHAOS and division.

I think that I got it right...

I never said, that we need a lite wallet. The community just showed interest in a lite wallet because the "full features" are partly unstable, not tested well enough, and things would still need some time. But who am I to decide, my vote (and I hope this is this way because we are a democratic project) is only worth a fraction - exactly as much as my XEL holdings weigh in a vote.

So if someone starts a vote, I will vote for no. But if yes wins, I can assist with coding (not launching).

now, how me not agree to current voting system and explaining my opinion makes it FUD.
P.S.

And I can't say that I like your  "First of all the 98% YES loves EK" as if I suggested that not ( regardless of me thinking this "love EK" part is irrelevant ) plus your personal accusations as I say what I say because vote didn't go my way, all the FUD stuff and etc. I guess it is become bit personal for you so let's AGAIN stop it here. This is not going to good and constructive places.

FUD Alert !!

NO:   633791.73200543 XEL             percentage: 2.5%

the community and coin holder made the choice.

That statement will only be true after the voting has ended. Currently you can only observe the trend. We will know soon enough.

no matter it's yes or no, i will happy community make the decision together.

it's not about the results, it's about the decision making mechanism.

30% 26% voted (+- 50 individuals out of hundreds) , 3 individual equal 10 percent out of 30 that voted ------->>> "together","community","democracy"... yep
People that didn't vote is their decision, don't worry dude. Chill out !
Or don't want to share key, or don't have access to it, or got tired of all sell/buy/exchange BS that was on forum and stop following it, or or or...
If the choice is made by few for many, there is a name for this. "25% democracy" Smiley

Sure "dude", ice chilled, just amused.

Come one, everyone CAN vote, so what's your point now?
Just look one post up for example Cheesy

If you have not understood yet, I don't care about this voting, I think that all this system is wrong. My opinion about lite wallet is irrelevant and I voted 'NO' only because EK told he will vote so when he was asked, as I believe that the one who do all the work should also manage or at least choose direction and crucial decisions for project they created and built WITHOUT help of very loud persons who want stuff and come with demands/accusation as people who voluntary chose to spent time on this project owns them something.
And all this demands/stuff signed usually by "we", "the people", "community" etc...  Can you understand this simple concept?

P.S.
And all those endless conversation instead of providing actual help developers NEED, But I am sure as Litewallet will come out, there will be endless/limitless donations, so it's all good:)

I think yosir has a point.  I have no idea whether or not a lite wallet is a good idea or not, so I'm not even sure which I would have voted for, but....

1) EK said he'd vote against the lite wallet...yes his vote is the same as everyone else....except....you are still dependent on EK creating it for you.  I'm not really completely sure what the lite wallet entails or how much work it would be, so keep in mind it may be a while until he is able to deliver the changes.

2) I still haven't seen a plan for what everyone thinks will happen once the lite wallet is released.  Yes there may be XEL available to help fund some work, but unless you find someone who can pickup the C coding, the project will be in the same place it is today.  Also, keep in mind...this project is pretty much uncharted territory.  This dev is going have to figure most everything for themselves w/o any sort of formal design...finding a dev that can do that is probably going to be a challenge.

As I've said all along, my only consideration is how can we get an additional dev to help with the C network code...if the lite wallet solves that, great.  But I'm not sure it will.  I would have prefered to have seen some capable devs express interest, then the community figure out the best was to get them involved...that would have helped determine if the lite wallet was the best approach or not.
