This is what im waiting for over all this time and keep watching on the thread relating to DEV's update on this coin and seems he hasnt have any plans on putting this coin in exchanges and some say this is just a test coin and i do actually mine this coin but dont know if it would hit on exchanges.

I will be very happy if the coin will be added to exchange.
The main task was to adapt the program to the unexpectedly high load. Now the most of bugs are fixed. Wallets are very stable (several days of stable working).

you would have to list of what capable of hidecoin could do right now and in the future what you could add to the coin, release some fancy stuff. we are the second node js after byteball, they have 2.2 mil marketcap right now. need to add a pool, a webside for hidecoin listing what special this coin could do, contact exchange.
right now we have the most stable of mining version but the loading of wallet, block explorer is very very slow waiting for loading seem to take forever.
there would be alot of work on your side to have the coin get value.
Then we can add :

I have tried >1K (100x10) get message tx too large.
When tried again I get double spend errors.

Maximal size of tx is 20 kB now. NodeJS is single-thread and large blocks processing cause errors. We works with this. If tx uses many outs, its size more than if you will send 10000 XHD, but from ONE ingoing transaction.
These issues makes it the slowest and most unusable wallet in crypto land.
Wallet.dat contains only a magic number, so I guess every time you want to open or send coins the chain has to be scanned.
Should be easy to fix, scan once and update when needed and store in dat file.

Release Jan 5, 2017 :
Using setting of sync < 8 causes some wallets to get out of sync.
No crashes yet.
Miner.js run in the classic way.

The debugging last 2 weeks has been impressive (forking issues are resolved)...
So I have more confidence that Dev can deliver a quality ecosystem over time.

The only bug I encounter (and can reproduce)...
Is related to opening the localhost wallet (takes 20-30 sec) and then mining with localhost wallet open...
With wallet open it's only a matter of time until core.js hangs (I run 3 mining threads)....
But with wallet closed it will run for days uneventfully.

There must be some advantages to the 1st node blockchain based coin (GBYTE is DAG)...
While unique, the Alt needs at least one creative idea that will make it stand out.

Stable version released!

Bug with synchronization is fixed.
Now you can see miners' speed (left top corner - HPS).
What about Roadmap, exchanges and etc?

I have 2 problems :
Web wallet not being able to deal with adds that have many tx, might just be a time out error of ui.
2nd one and most important one that the latest release gets out of sync.
I had to revert back to release of Dec 25, 2016.

This is the problem i am experiencing too on which its really hard to synchronize anytime i launch the node core and also it rejects it anytime and now i dont anyhave idea on how to revert back to those previous version on which the operation is just fine unlike now on the newest update. It does have a problem.

Problem with web wallet is limited to big wallets, like my miner wallet.
Small wallets work fine.

Tried latest wallet again, this time using "npm install -g pm2".
Again it gets out of sync, after 2 hrs some 40 blocks behind.

Anyone else having the same problems ?

The "web wallet" is not the central issue...
The core problem is an inability to resolve blockchain forks quickly with a reliable algorithm.

Based on my general experience as a developer...
Sometimes you have to scrap large blocks of code and redesign (as opposed to patching poor algos endlessly)...
There is a LOT of blockchain consensus and fork resolution code out there...
Just clone something elegant and battle-tested and drop it in... no need to reinvent the wheel.

A node coin is worth developing... that makes this project interesting.

New stable version released!

I recommend to do this (as root user):
Code:
npm install -g pm2

Then you can run miner in background mode without "screen":
Code:
pm2 start miner.js
And stop:
Code:
pm2 stop miner.js

In core you can now see miner status: / - \ |
If it changes - miner connected!
Don't forget to set miner settings.
Had to perform a roll back since most of my wallets were out of sync, some by 200 blocks.
Web wallet is difficult to login need to try a couple of times before it works.
When transfer coins I get "kicked" and have to login again.

Dev,
were there anyway that you could setup a mining pool ?
what i see right now only 1 or 2 miner control 95 % of total mining coin
wont do any good if you keep going on like this. you need anyone want to mine
could get on board easy.
Wallet seems to be written from scratch so try to be patient.
Also keep in mind that when the big miners join in small guys like you and me are done.
Then they will pick up most of the coins and then we are not talking about "just" a X00K.

How many GB is the whole blockchain?I have followed the steps and instruction regarding on installing or mining it and im on my way on downloading the blockchain and it already 5 hours now and not yet finished.I want to know whats the actual size? Anyone?
to finish the download blockchain you would need couple days to a week, i would help you with that

I been saying from the day one that everyone should opt out for switching to the mini-chains and leave behind syncing inconvenience.
