Try to close wallet and open again usually work, this is from my experience with other coins wallet when it's stuck.

Just installed the wallet on a clean VM installtion and my antivirus is starting to prompt me about attempted HTTPS communications which are not properly certified. Anyone else seen this behavior? I'm not surfing the web or anything but running the wallet in this VM.
www.2f4wjuitojinshiy.net, www.cq2kdjce4ghjrjtu.com and www.su54yhjv.com are just a few that the AV asking me to approve - they are always "gibberish" like that those.

what your av is seeing is an attempt to connect to the tor network. if you dont allow them it will not connect properly

How is that possible with POW ending 14960 blocks early
232740 + (250 x 16) + (1440 x 8000) + (1440 x 4000) + (1440 x 2000) + (879 x 1000) = 21,275,740
Once the block halves, the amount of coins created in the 1440 block duration is significantly less than when it began. Just add all of the sections together and you'll see smaller numbers being added to the amount.
So I was off a bit...there are about 21.3 million XST out there...

I know exactly how you feel . I lost 25,000 xst. It would be nice to try to mine it all back but POW ended early. Which makes no sense...

Well I'm just glad I had my miners mining this from the start and did not move them under it got forked but now it's staking some coins.
