Yeah, by now securenodes work fine on testnet. It's good news, then ZenCash will have actual secure nodes in the near future, right? When is the time it will be launched? Thanks.
We are waiting for Secure Nodes to go online (mainnet) announced for November 30th.
You can get all details from our latest video update -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TvZ1PWakWCA

Also, I wish the securenodes on mainnet had not coincided with the BTC near $10K psychological ceiling. Many folks will be hesitant to invest while most are expecting a retrace back to $5K levels. Would the team not consider this as an external factor to delay securenode go-live?
We have no interest for such actions, this would be unprofessional.

Everyone's too ready for a short. The REKTs are already piling up. I wouldn't be surprised if this plays out slightly another way

If a significant retrace comes true at the expense of exchanges such as Bittrex, this would be a big hit to Zencash availability. This currency needs to get listed on other exchanges ASAP. There needs to be a fully developed Zencash short to mid-term term contingency plan if the market goes into a 2014 type of situation.

Does Zencash have plans to support instant transactions through securenodes in the future?

This has to be intended for payment periods of any given lenght or forever?
I'm asking because even if someone would leave the node online 24/7, not being a data center it could happen that occasionally one may have to keep PC offline for a while.
This is for one payment period, and if you do not meet this requirement you won't be paid. Better luck in the next payment period.

Earnings
An earning period is based upon block time. It is the amount of time between 576 blocks which is approximately 24 hours. When an earning period ends each active node is checked and any node with exceptions or downtime causing the node to be available less than 92% of the earning period is excluded from the earnings pool. A node with greater than 92% availability but with some downtime or exceptions will have the amount of time subtracted from their allocation. These small subtractions help offset the fees incurred with making the payments.

A payment administrator on a weekly basis reviews the earnings to ensure they were generated correctly and marks them to be paid.

Coins are then transferred to a payment address and the payment is made. No funds are stored on the server. This process may be automated at a later time.

Thank you very much for this excellent answer. Since I live in different places of the world occasionaly I have to be offline one day for travelling from one to the other one, this explains my question. I guess your answer will be useful also for many other people in the community.

please answer on some questions about securenode configuration, haven't found this in any tutorial

is secnodetracker only available on testnet only, so i'm unable to configure securenode, using my mainnet wallet balance? what would be with my main wallet balance if i switch it to testnet?
Correct, you must use testnet coins on testnet, you will use entirely different addresses, than those on mainet.

Please join Discord #securenodes channel and there you will get testnet Zen, also ther you will meet people who already running nodes on testnet and now have good experience. https://discordapp.com/invite/9kXQFHx

P.s Did signup at reddit and left a message as well, lets get the zencash thread back. Go Zen.

BTW, when you rune a node, do you have to keep it online all the time?
Secure node will participate in payments only if it have more than 92% uptime (online and no exceptions).

Please tell me which differences between masternodes and secure nodes? Are they the same or different?
Secure Nodes improves network security - Whole communication is encrypted and secured with secure nodes, which is not the case with typical master nodes who are vulnerable, and can be compromised in certain cases.
Secure nodes are profitabil 3.5% from every block is reserved as reward for nodes and this number is lower when you compare it with other projects with master nodes, profitability was not main concern in case of Zen.
https://blog.zensystem.io/secure-nodes-why-are-they-important/

Possibilities of secure nodes are beyond transactions, messaging and publishing..And many new good ideas can be implemented.

Secure node will participate in payments only if it have more than 92% uptime (online and no exceptions).
Other words system is designed to be online 24/7 so nodes should follow this.
