Thank you!!

Did you do it this way?

First: Disconnect the cable connected to Chain#1 to test Chain#2 hash board.
Second: Disconnect cables connected to Chain#1 and Chain#2, turn over the control board, and then connect the Chain#1 to Connector#2 of the control board, to test Chain#1 hash board.
Note: Since there is no +12v in the Connector 1#, you have to turn over the control board to test Chain 1#

Thanks to point that out. Those are the small things that the eye sometimes skips.

Gonna test it that way and post the results here.

I turned over the control board and connected the connector #1 to the chain #2. It didn't worked. I quite don't get why do I have to flip the controller over since I see the screws holding it to the case are only grounding the PCB. I checked the cables were connected correctly.

Quick Recap: So far:

  • Both Connector #1 and chain #1 connected; Connector #2 and chain #2 connected: Machine boots, Status>MinerStatus>AntMiner is empty. Red and Green leds on.
  • Only Connector #1 and chain #1 connected: Machine doesn't boot, fan attached to the chain #1 blows at 100%, the other one 0 RPM. Both red and green leds are off.
  • Only Connector #1 and chain #2 connected: Machine doesn't boot, fan attached to the chain #2 blows at 100%, the other one 0 RPM. Both red and green leds are off.
  • Only Connector #2 and chain #1 connected: Machine boots, Status>MinerStatus>AntMiner shows the info of the Chain 1. Asic status: "oooooooo oooooooo". Red led off. Only green led is on.
  • Only Connector #2 and chain #2 connected: Machine boots, Status>MinerStatus>AntMiner shows the info of the Chain 2. Asic status: "oooooooo oooooooo". Red led off. Only green led is on.
  • Only Connector #1 and chain #2 connected, PCB turned over.: Machine doesn't boot, fan attached to the chain #2 blows at 100%, the other one 0 RPM. Both red and green leds are off.

Thanks,

A humble Siberian miner
I see Bitmain have just uploaded another firmware update - anyone tried it?
Description: better support for firefox and chrome. <\br> MD5: 7189A012A7A3CECB9DB05090B7D0D64F

Why can't they even post a correct FW description?..  Huh

Looks that we already can't...

Looks like there is a new firmware dated 10/24 posted, anyone know if it fixed the prior new firmware problems?

Hello, good day.

I bought 17 S3 miners some months ago. I'm a happy customer so far.

One of my miners suddenly stopped working. I pressed the reset button, but nothing happened. Both red and green LEDs are blinking; I can access the miner's web interface and this is what it shows on the "Miner Status" page:

http://s15.postimg.org/9gyvnmeon/screenshot.jpg

I flashed all my miners with the latest firmware months ago, and all of them were working well so far until now.

Can anyone give me some directions on how to fix this miner?

Cheers,

Try a hard reboot
Try ribbons on controller
Faulty controller?

Shut it down and unplug supply and ethernet, let sit a few minutes, replace cables and fire up.

If still doing this then try running nmap from a linux machine and see what ports are open on the device.

I did the recommended stuff. Long story short, it seems to be the controller.

Test bench:
http://s30.postimg.org/dh0209oal/00_testing_parts.jpg

Testing left controller connector and left blade: It works.
http://s30.postimg.org/6rtik92yl/01_it_works.jpg

Testing left controller connector and right blade: It works.
http://s30.postimg.org/avpffmsl9/02_it_works.jpg

Testing right controller connector and left blade: Fails.
http://s30.postimg.org/75uujun25/03_does_not_work.jpg

Testing right controller connector and right blade: Fails.
http://s30.postimg.org/4flimnqd9/04_does_not_work.jpg

To discard the ribbon cables, I repeated the 1st test twice, once per cable. As expected, everything went OK.

So, the next step wold be to file a RMA for the faulty controller, I think. What are the steps to do so?

Anger is a gift.
Load looks OK too - what's the cpu usage?

It is showing 90%. My other B1 on the August firmware with CK's binary is at 90% as well. I am just checking by looking at the processes log.

edit: 90 not 900... Geez

I see Bitmain have just uploaded another firmware update - anyone tried it? I'll let someone else be the guinea pig this time after wasting over 24 hours with the last one that didn't work, have they fixed it?

Peace  Smiley

EDIT: @ Bitmain: Can we also have the S2 firmware you promised us over 2 months ago now?

I will give it a test run.

So far so good. I put this on one of my B1 that never runs at 440 GH/s.

Question re S3 cleaning:

In S1 it was kind of clear when too much "stuff' accumulated, but since S3 is closed, I don't know what is going on inside without opening.
Would you still stop it and remove dust (around fans as in S1) or just keep going as long as miners are performing?

Can you try hard reset by pressing the button with a paperclip for a few seconds and then wait for 2 minutes and turn it off?

If the reset worked, the IP address will be 192.168.1.99

the button is right side of the Ethernet port.

I have one S3 now that seems to be broken.  Embarrassed

The LED's on the nic light up and blink like usual. When I reset and reboot, the red LED light will blink 8-9 times fast then 1 slow blink and repeats about a dozen times then turns off.

I cannot access the web gui at any time.

Can anyone tell me what is at fault here? Maybe I can use the parts from an S1 to bring it back to life?

The red LED flashes like the other devices while they are booting up then all LED's go off after the initial flickering. But:

After a hard reset using the pin, it will do the initial red LED bootup flicker, it then goes into the fast blink 8-9 times then 1 slow blink repeated for a dozen times then red led light goes off.

NIC LED lights are unaffected at any time. WebGUI is inaccessible at any time.  Embarrassed

i think that new FW somehow messed up my miners..

since i got them they have been steady at 453 @225.

since i updated the FW and put the FW back to the 826 FW, reset them and put them back @ 225 one is 446 and one is 438.. also they keep beeping..

what do i do??

You can always downgrade to the prior firmware.

M

i did that.. and i updated the cgminer with the new 4.6 one..

they just arent working as hard as they were Sad

its just not numbers either, my payouts have gone down.

My payout got better i get less errors and rejects with the new Fw then i was . or maybe it seems that way to me .  but it does indeed seem that way .

I'm currently thinking about buying one of those. However, the price in the EU is kinda high (compared to the price from Bitmain directly (even with shipping)),
so I'd like to ask how many mBtc does one device generate at current diff in average per day? thanks in advance.

anyone? I'm looking for some real world numbers, not from a calculator. I just want to calculate how much I would be willing to pay for a S3+ Smiley
