I see my coupons now .075btc x 3

when do they expire? expiration date is useful to know since it will give an indication when they will be available again for batch 4.

I predict there will be a big drop in price for batch 5, the reason is simple for batch 4 there are a lot of coupons for the people that did not want the refund which reduces the need for price reduction beyond the 7.7% for drop hash rate, and another 9% for difficulty increase, but as expected they will sell out quickly, for batch 5  all the coupons will be gone, and further increases in difficulty will force them to drop the price further, and by then mostly everyone that wanted one will have at least one, once they start selling from stock is when prices will be the lowest, just like it happened with the S1, history repeats. currently the s3 is the best deal for the money that I am aware of.

for me, validity time:

2014-07-12 00:00:00~2014-08-16 00:00:00

What do you recommend me guys then if i plan to run 2 S3 at 212,50 Frequency(~424,81 GH/s? - 362W / each, 724 W total). Use 1 corsair CX750W for 2 S3 with that frequency(212,50 - 362 W), or 1 corsair for each S3, and buy i dont know a 1000W new PSU for 2 more S3.

thanks

I recommend the antec hcp1300 platinum it is very good and has 16ga cables, a total of 10 pci-e connectors.
I have used it with 3 s1, and now using it with 2 s3, it can easily handle 3 s3.

One of the temps on my s3 is showing 248 which is keeping the fans at full speed. Otherwise it seems to be working. Anyone else have this problem?
What are you baking in there? It should shut off at 80C. Both of mine are no higher than 41C. Either the temperature gauge is way off or you've got thermal paste spread all over it like peanut butter.

It's still set to shut off at 80c, it never has though. Now it's reporting 1c for the temp and the fans are running slower then my other units.

Well, the only thing broken is that the webinterface isn´t available anymore.

It runs at around 505GH average after I put small heatsinks on the DCDCs (I had them lying around) and some overclocking, obviously.

Erm how do I reflash the firmware from SSH....

Interesting. I'm going to do the following:
- hook a scope probe to U25 on each side and see if there's anything interesting there (dropouts etc.)
- I'll put heatsinks on the regs of one side of the miner only, and see if there's a measurable difference (or attempt to). Heatsinks will go on the top surface of the regs only for now. Lots of space on/around the top; not as crammed as other designs.

I'll post some thermals later on or tomorrow AM
To be fair, I didn´t do any exact thermal measurments (or exact GH measurements) on my DCDCs, so it could have worked at that GH without the additional heatsinks.

I just had them lying around and thought additional heatsinks couldn´t possibly lower the hashrates, so I attached them.

Yeah, they're not going to hurt anything - unless one comes loose and shorts the reg to ground Smiley

I was going to do some measurements anyways, and it only took a few minutes to stick on some heatsinks. This particular miner is the dog of the litter (high error rate) and I'm interested to see if that's easily fixed.

I was also thinking about maybe reapplying thermal paste, but without access to my webinterface I couldn´t even say whether that lowered temps.

When I open the unit the next time I can take some pics.

Quick Question.

Any one else having their S3 report only one working blade.

I've tried
-different power supply
-multiple reboots
-different pci-e plugs
-Currently power all 4 pci-e plugs with a 1600 watt supply

I've filed a ticket with Bitmain but nothing yet.

Anyone have any suggestions short of opening the box and checking connections.

Bitmain will tell you to open up the case and reseat the plugs from control board to hashing board. 99% of the time that will fix your problem.

Opened the case up and reseated all connectors.  No visible damage.  One side is still cold to the touch.
I had exactly the same issue on one of the S3's.  In my case opening the case, moving and reseating all connectors / cables between the controller and hashing boards seems to have solved it.  Maybe some of the wires do not make a good contact in the IDC (insulation displacement contact) part of the connectors, and just a slight shift of the wire 'fixes' it.  If all else fails, as suggested you could swap parts between the 'good' and 'bad' S3.

Cheers

Wish I had .63 BTC to buy one.. I only have .32 btc

But are they going to still sell them in pairs?? Or are we going to be able to buy just 1 unit?.

Any of you are powering 2 S3´s at stock frequency or lowered, with just 1 Corsair CX750W??

I have 2 corsair and today i receive 2 S3. But if i buy 2 more S3, i will have to buy 2 more Corsair(more less 86 EUR with delivery). Or better buying a 1000W PSU?? Thanks
