Wish I could buy one of these but as a poor university student I definitely can't. My tuition of $4,800 could definitely buy some mining power.. Lol

If you live in a dorm with "FREE" electricity, you might be able to work a deal with someone. You host their miners and you get a cut of the earnings.  Grin

That'd be a good idea.. wish I knew someone, lol!
I'd host it for free even, I don't care!

I actually have some miners hosted in different households.  I pay them in BTC for the power cost at the end of each month based on the prevailing exchange rate then.  I got them involved in BTC at least; so I guess that's good.  Of course, I have to set up everything for them including a secure wallet for the BTC that I pay them.

My Lepa PSU doesn't work with paperclip (or on/off switch) but works when connected to mo/bo :/ Looks like it'll have to be sold

Your LEPA  is broken. My two  LEPA G1600 work with paperclip. But two G1600 has already been sent back to the factory.

Most of the time you just need to add a small instant load like a case fan for the paperclip to work.

I tried it with a scryptminer too but no go. I'll try a fan instead, maybe its something weird. thx
Fortunately my larger Lepa works fine with a jumper

If you get the evga 1300 watt psu's they come with an adapter piece that switches the PSU on. Only PSU i've ever seen that included this and it looks like a well built power supply. I can't wait to hook them all up on tuesday!

It also came with my 3 EVGA power supplies I bought for these miners, so I'm guessing it might be an EVGA thing.

I think so too...only PSU with such a feature.

My 850 evga g2 came with one, I think they might be putting them in all their g2 line now

I stand corrected.  Actually, this feature was exclusive only to the EVGA SuperNOVA 1500 Classified (learned about it during the golden BFL days Wink).  It's good that they are now including it in most if not all of their SuperNOVA line.

Does anyone know the page to the new specs and shipping date times? Also i'm having a sample 1404 watt server PSU http://puu.sh/aku6J/5d8b4fbbd5.jpg the mass production version will be hard soldered directly into the PCB they are going to run about $140 USD each and have 6 pci cables. In order for me to get them at the $140 range I'll need to crowd fund it. Would this be of any interest to the community?

My 2 x B1 is arriving tomorrow. I'm going to be at work so I signed the online authorization to leave it in front of my door. Time to hope that nobody wants to steal it. Smiley
My next door neighbor did that and one of the neighborhood mutts came by and Peed on them! Undecided

Wow, that sounds terrible. I'm in an apartment complex so I don't expect that to happen but once I had my Amazon package get labelled Delivered while the box was nowhere to be found. That would suck if it happens to these guys.

Hi there, how many amps at 12 volts does one device use? I cannot find this information anywhere.

Thanks,
Jason

Watts = Amps x Volts

Therefore:

A = WDC/12VDC

Dogie's comprehensive setup guide now up in super HD!

Thanks for this. Very helpful!

I was wondering why my PSUs did not turn on. Wasn't aware of the need to jumper it. I guess I missed that if it was covered in this thread.

Now if my batch 3 units would just ship...

If you are usa based here is a good item on ebay

I purchased about ten of them from him.

Phill...you are funny some times... Grin

Good for a 100 PSU's...  Wink

Cheers,

...or use an 18AWG insulated copper wire (prettier than a paper clip) that's probably already in your junk parts drawer (or get a thermostat wire with strands of 18AWG wires in it from your local hardware store that cost a few cents per foot).  Cut about an inch long and shape into a "U" and strip the insulation at each end about a quarter inch.  Use the PSU's switch to turn the miner on or off...it's free!

Is there an OC table?

I mean:

With X Frequency --> Y GH/s --> Z watts

and so on.

Just to know which frequency its the best.

And of course i know every S3 is a world, and some can OC better than others, lets see my S3 batch 2 units if they can OC fine or not, and i just have to run them default frequency
