My miners arrived, and got stuck at the customs Sad. They are asking for the invoice (proof of payment) but i still havent heard from Bitmain. I opened a ticket on Friday. I called in USA support, talked about 10min and no help from that guy!!! What should i do guys?

You should have received an email with proof of payment that shows bitcoin converted into USD shortly after you purchased them.  Simply print it and show it to them.

EDIT:  I have noticed my most recent invoice from BITMAIN only shows BTC for payment and no USD conversion.  Maybe the BTC will be sufficient.
I cant give them the BTC invoice, they need the dollar invoice. Fuuuu im screwed

They could care less what the invoice looks like. Make your own invoice, slap the Bitmain logo on it and print it. Obviously throw a little common sense in the mix. Send them all back to CHINA!

Just take the Bitmain invoice and translate the BTC value by adding an USD value next to them, and give them the exchange rate somewhere on the page. But i don't think this is something you can do at the door. At least it is not over here. You have to fill forms and crap and request a re-evaluation and ask for a refund. Heh.

So....how hard is it to remove a hash board from this bad boy?  I have an RMA with bitmain and I need to remove one of the boards to ship to China to have it looked at.  At least the other two boards are hashing me around 3 TB so I'm not dead in the water.  Doesn't look like the heat sinks are having issues since it was fine for about 24 hours when I initially plugged it in and then the board just stopped hashing completely.  But I'll know more when I pull it out.

Any guidance on FW? I have 12 miners from batch, 1,3,5,7,8 and all on the 10/23 versions, doing OK. Any opinion on updating to 12/11 versions of FW?

If you are not having any problems and given that the later versions of firmware come with no indication of changes, I would not run the risk of an upgrade and stay as you are.

Top 3 were the first release of firmware on the website for the 162 Chip Systems. The 550MHz people were informed that they were getting a slower default frequency, it was not what they ordered.

Bottom 6 were the second release for the 162 Chip Systems and the first to the 135 Chip Systems.

Unfortunately nothing has been said about any changes in the firmware relative to the original release....

Seems like Bitmain does update the pricing properly between USD and BTC.  It's about $100 off.  I contacted supported about it and they said fixed.  I said nope, not yet.  He said wait, takes time.  haha....  It's been 3 days, same issue.  I hope their tech support is better than their website / sales support.

This...

I'm waiting for this before doing a big purchase...! Don't know if it'll happen...

I paid nothing to FEDEX but my brother in law had to pay $16 to UPS and they only delivered 1 of 2 box.  They said the other box is delayed by 1 day.  There is zero consistency here.  Also what is the best recommended method for paying to avoid issues?  Wiring or via BTC?  Seems like Bitmain does update the pricing properly between USD and BTC.  It's about $100 off.  I contacted supported about it and they said fixed.  I said nope, not yet.  He said wait, takes time.  haha....  It's been 3 days, same issue.  I hope their tech support is better than their website / sales support.

Anyone got Batch 1,3 5 or 6 hashing boards they'd like to sell? I'm looking for 3 working boards.

PM me with cost per board if you're interested.

yes, "custom's duty" for most of it and then $7 for an advancement fee which I'm assuming is for Fedex paying it for me

My S7 arrived on Black Friday (USA delivery).  A few weeks later I got a bill from Fedex for a Customs Duty of 2.6%.  I was under the impression all of the taxes and duties I've seen mentioned in this forum were for people receiving these outside of the US.  Is this legit?  Go ahead and pay the $50?

Thanks!

That's probably a onetime brokerage fee charged by the carriers. I had to pay $37 to UPS once (S3 era),  ever since I stuck with UPS for shipment from Bitmain and didn't have to pay anymore fees.

Does it say it is customs duty?  Only time I have gotten a charge in US was when bitmain shipped a PSU at a different weight then actual.  They weighed it and sent me a bill for difference.

If not I would call them and also more why you owe it.   I have not had to do a custom's payment in US.  But maybe I'm lucky.

hmm well they messed up if they send a bill AFTER giving you the miner....I say forget the bill until they really start bothering you to pay.  You will probably get some automated phone call in a while.
