just got my 2 vega's in the mail, although im really busy these days, just had time to install them, blockchain drivers, win10, etc.  standard stuff.  but xmr-stak refuses to run.  sucks because I have no time for that shit Sad  if anyone has an idea why, let me know.  so its dual mining now, about 190w each.  too high for me still but these need tinkering.

I couldn't get it to work either so I'm using sgminer on Win10 64.

Vega 64 air
latest not block-chain drivers
1800 xmr
but 350watt at the wall
xmr-stack-amd

will work on downvolting now

I'd be curious as to your settings because I was not having a lot of luck with xmr-stack-amd

I have 5 Vega 64 running at 0.9mv with the softplay mod.

I tested with 5 Vega 64 and I can get 4 cards running at 1700h/s but that last card is still at 1300h/s

I checked the clocks and they are all identical and activated HBCC. Multi Vega rigs seem relatively unstable so far.

Running with 6 Vega 64 gets me an instant BSOD when windows attempts to boot.

Anyone successfully get a 6 Vega rig going?

So as i see in last news, Vega is hashing 43 ETH and what is power usage and temp?
Also it can get 1700 1800 XMR hashrate?
That is amazing?
You think it is profitable to get them and have stable income from monero?

Meanwhile my rig with 3 Vegas 64 is running without dropdowns xmr @1900-1950 h/s per card.
1418Mhz@925mV (rednow-mod)
And blockchain drivers

For unstable hashrate, dropdowns:
Put the W10 energy management to High Performance,
Disable "Turn off monitor after 15min" -> leave Monitor allways on.
Monitoring Tools like Z-GPU are causing dropdowns as well.
Remote Desktop Connection is crapp as well...
Further on I applied a registry tweak from for mining which I found somewhere in www

It seems I'm losing speed after Team Viewer connection too ((

Have you disabled Windows 10 default Aero crap?

Team viewer stopped messing with my Vegas hash after turning on iGPU.
It's + ~30W but the V56s are stable above 1800s. Team viewer was dropping me from 5500 to ~5300s

I am about to head to to the vega, what can i expectto get to or hash rate on xmr without touching the power table.  Not enough time tonight

err, I don't think that u understood what I mean -

Oldcomer's mod with blockchain is 1220 GPU clock, using around 1400W for me -> around 220W per card.
1000 GPU clock with 17.8.2  was using only 1100W. -> 170W.

The voltages that the cards were using with the 17.8.2 and underclocked were under 0.9. I think it was 0.875mV

But someone in the thread (if I am not mistaken it was you), said, that he can mine ETH with Oldcomer's mod at 150W per card. And this is the part that I seriously doubt, as my numbers are pretty different, and I single card, that its not modded the same way as in the mod cannot make 400W difference. If the 150W part was true, the whole system would draw only 1000W.

P.S. And I am still using the mod as we speak. 261 MHs ETH, very stable (as its night and its better for the cooling of the cards), they seem to lose a few MHs when temps hit 65.

With the ETH you can undervolt GPU a good bit and still be fine. I see the thing uses tons of unneeded power when mining ETH so undervolt and underclock the heck out of it till it crashes then come back up a bit till stable.

Did not touch the voltages on five of em.  All at 1000GPU, 1100 Mem, -24, auto voltages. The 6th was on 1100 GPU on 1050mV , 1035 Memory, -10 Power limit.
And the cards were very cool.
It doesn't matter if you touched voltages or no. It is interesting what voltage is when cards are mining. You can get it from gpu-z or hwinfo64.
This will be the answer why you have 220 watt per card with 1000gpu clock while Oldcomer's mod will give you 170watt with higher 1222gpu clock and higher hashrate.

nono, thats not Monero, thats ETH (with claymore 10.0). I have no time tweaking the monero, will leave it for the weekend.
and well, there was nothing that complicated, so I don't see what I could have done wrong. Still ... I don't have a real Kill-a-Watt, I am using a smart plug, but it was pretty accurate for ETH mining with the 17.8.2 driver. I had ~ 1100W for the whole system including 2 WRT54 routers, and a case fan. Thats roughly 160-170 per card.
I tried monero (single thread) with it and it was around 750W total. So quite lower, but the value would be higher with two threads I guess.

I don't really see how same (or even lower) values can be achieved with the blockchain driver, as the cards are running at higher clock (1220 compared to 1000), and there is no power limit change, compared to the -24 with the normal driver.

Can someone verify, that two threads Monero will actually work with only 8 GB? I increased the virtual memory to 64 GB and I see the HBCC slider (its around 12gb max).

What gpu voltage did you have with 1000mhz gpu and 17.8.2 drivers?

Whats that rednow-mod ? Smiley Some secret stuff I guess?

Btw - regarding the youtube mod. Almost 24h now stable. But ... My power usage is way over the stated ~150W per card. I am running at 1400-1500W with only one card with different settings (and they are very close to the original). Thats more like 220 per card, not 150.

P.S. Heath is an issue with this blockchain driver. The cards are running around 15C hotter than when underclocked under 17.8.2 Good thing is that winter is coming, but still Smiley

Well. If you run stable and with much power usage - that means that you applied Oldcomers mod not correctly.
220 per card is non-downvolted Vega power usage with monero.
If you apply mod correctly you will have 120watt from the wall and 1800h/s. But damn, it is very unstable )) any touch to your farm (gpu-z, teamviwer, etc ) and it loses speed and you need to reapply HBCC settings (I think in fact it is driver soft reboot due to some fail)

Hello guys, building a 6xVega XMR mining rig, need some advice.
Parts:
Asrock H81 Pro BTC R2.0
Intel Celeron G1840 (can't get cheaper CPU)
16GB DDR3 RAM, I already have this
250GB SSD

My problem is Vega 64 and 56 are the same price (600 euros). Should I buy 64s or 56s?
Is there any point in buying a Ryzen CPU instead and have it mine as well?
Thanks in advance.

If they are the same price, buy the 64.

If you want to mine the Monero, you can buy a good CPU.
dont buy g1840 , get 32xx instead
vega 64 for sure

Why no g1840? I've seen no issues with it, with that same setup as the above (except 8gb ram, and 128 SSD. Why would you even need a 256? )

Had to make a new account for some reason my old wouldn't log in. rednoW thank you for the settings. Couldn't figure it out for the life of me last night. This morning I switched off HBCC and it works flawless. Stable at 1970 right now on a Vega 64. Going to push it later to see what I can get now.

I have Team viewer Host running and a dummy vga plug (mainboard vga) and have no issues

With my mod I had no issues with Team Viewer ... but with this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Uq3Om2MXOE I have.
Maybe to low voltage.

I try not to change the resolution when I work with TeamViewer
