Thanks for this. I've been playing with the power settings with a Sapphire RX Vega 64 Liquid Cooled and got 1990.7 H/s stable @ 0.875 VDDC. Couldn't get power draw at the wall because I need a kill-a-watt thing.

About 145W. More details in the next video this weekend.

Highly doubt if it is stable.
One of my cards needs 910mV voltage (gpu-z) to run 1408/1100 stable, other can handle 900mV. If yours is stable - you are the silicon lottery winner ))

fair enough. I think if someone finds a solution, how to decrease the power limit without losing much efficiency, that should solve the heath issue, as I had noproblem with the underclocked cards at -24 with the normal driver.

But not being able to do tweaks with the wattman on these blockchain drivers is bad. Hope they release another driver, but I seriously doubt it.

On Vega56, I use the Power Level at -20%, hash rate is stable at 1830, total system is at 560W (with 3 vega 56).
2.5 days data at nanopool mining XMR: https://imgur.com/a/8AKQZ

The more I read the more I want to stay away from Vega 64 Air cooled. More power or way more tweaks needed to reduce its consumption to have more ~100H/s for more 100$ seems not a great deal.
Hello,

can you share your settings? i have 3 vega 56 too
Greats

Hello guys, building a 6xVega XMR mining rig, need some advice.
Parts:
Asrock H81 Pro BTC R2.0
Intel Celeron G1840 (can't get cheaper CPU)
16GB DDR3 RAM, I already have this
250GB SSD

My problem is Vega 64 and 56 are the same price (600 euros). Should I buy 64s or 56s?
Is there any point in buying a Ryzen CPU instead and have it mine as well?
Thanks in advance.
I wouldn't go with 6 Vega now, to many problems can be. 4 Vega+something else (Nvidia for example) should be fine

What kind of problems?

See (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/vega-64-cannot-enable-hbcc-on-26-cards-in-rig-after-reboot-2201970).  In short, it seems we cannot easily enable HBCC on more than 4 cards.   I had it working on all 6 at once point, rebooted, never been able to get back.  Read the first post, I've tried everything short of nuking Windows entirely.  Others are reporting the same issues.

What I wouldn't do for some trick to avoid having to disable/enable HBCC on every card after reboot to get 1900+H XMR.

Also, regarding the power table mods.  OLDComer's mod works on 4/6 Vega64's I have.  The same two cards I cannot enable HBCC on also seem to ignore the power table registry settings entirely.  Likely a clue there but I am not sure what.

well, can't change that anymore Smiley I will check the situation to Monero and maybe will just switch back to the other drivers.

What clock settings are u using for the VEGA 56 to get the -20 to be stable?

Check my tutorial on page 26 of this thread. It's just basic slider settings with no voltage workarounds.

Checked it. -30% Frequency, are u sure the cards are really holding it? Whats the stable freq they work on, can u check ?

They fluctuate between default P5 (higher value at 1400s) and 1300s (with the -30% freq on the slider). Can't really tell if it's jumping between P5-P6 or P4-P5 given the PL set at -20%
At the wall, the power fluctuates between 560-570W which is normal to me.

I'm waiting for an Oldman's video related to monero to try out the regedit way.

In what income is related, the 3 cards are aligned with what the monero profit calculator tells me: ~0.097 XMR for ~5500.

Before nanopool I've been a week in a smaller pool, also stable with the same settings and silimar income. Stopped to be similar after the hard fork, that somehow affected the pool block discovery ratio, reason why I switched pool.

hi
i have question
how see Stak Web Huh
and whats different between pool results hash and real hash on PC?

because i have -15% Sad

To enable the stak web interface check the config file. It's one of the last few items. By default is set to 0 (disabled). I've set mine to 16000, so I access it at http://machine-ip-address:16000

We all talk about Pc hash rate counts here, but what really matters is what the pool is actually counting, sometimes more than PC hash, sometimes less. The day average should be pretty much aligned with your PC hash rate. If it isn't, check the R results, to see if some shares have been rejected or expired, and C connection to check the health of your connection with the pool.

Now the money is free, and so the people will be
September 26, 2017, 08:46:49 AM
just got my 2 vega's in the mail, although im really busy these days, just had time to install them, blockchain drivers, win10, etc.  standard stuff.  but xmr-stak refuses to run.  sucks because I have no time for that shit Sad  if anyone has an idea why, let me know.  so its dual mining now, about 190w each.  too high for me still but these need tinkering.

I couldn't get it to work either so I'm using sgminer on Win10 64.

thanks for the reply, yeah claymore has an update with vega support maybe coming today, itll probably be just as good as xmr-stak I think, well see.

I also notice huge difference with same settings on different cards. I have two of these running at 54-55C with 62% fans, where others are at 61 with 70% fans ...
That whole thing is a huge lottery it seems.

P.S. You said u are using different settings, no Smiley ? Maybe if you share em with us, that may improve things  Grin
My settings take more power with higher speed. And more stable (for my taste). But they won't help you with overheating comparing to 1222 mod and I prefer to keep them private (0.4 eth fee). Maybe you should wait for Oldcomer's new video. He promised new settings for XMR with higher speed. Maybe it will help in your case.

no, pretty much all. HBM2 is 15-18C hotter than the card on each. When gpu temp goes over 65, the HBM2 is over 80.

With the other driver, with lower clock and especially the lower power draw, the temps were ~15C under the values I am having right now.
That suxx. I have only liquid vegas now and they keep hbm bellow 65C even hard dual-mining.
I ordered Vega56 (on air of course) - will check soon.

I know that, they are not at auto. Still at 70% fans, thats like 3400 RPM, the HBM2 temp is as I said around 75C. I can probably push em even further, but running like this 24/7 is asking for trouble.

What kind of extra cooling are u guys using? Adding side fans , blowing from front to the back doesn't really do much.
75C degrees is for 1V cards or for 0.8V cards too?
