well. 160watt and speed 43-44mhs - as I posted before - current best  Vega results mining eth. To achieve better efficiency we need some miner/driver change or mem timings hack.

UPDATE...

the 43.7 was for Expanse

Just tried the same settings with ETH 38.5

You need blockchain drivers with HBCC enabled for 44+eth. But blockchain drivers are pain to downvolt. But it is possible!

@rednoW, would you mind explaining step by step how you are getting undervolt to work with the blockchain drivers?  I've tried fiddling with command line switches and wattman settings and can't seem to get them to stick.  I'm running 5x Vega 64 at the moment and getting 41.5Mh on the blockchain drivers but I'm running 960/1025/-10%/65C fan target so my power consumption is very high.

UPDATE

So i changed to the drivers 17.9.1 and with claymore 10 and im getting 43.7mh(Vega Sapphire 56) at a total system wattage of around 220. That includes an I3-7320  and 2x 2tb hard drives so i think that is pretty good.

What i did

1. Install fresh copy of win 10
2. Installed 17.9.1 drivers
3. Using wattman i changed the GPU clock to 1000 and the Mem clock to 1100 hit apply
4. Then i lowered the power limit to 10% and hit apply( lowering the power limit is not actually lowering the wattage at the wall)
5. Then i took the power limit back to default ...hit applied and rebooted the PC

Hope this helps someone

this is pretty good.

if you had the mining shut off  what does the 220 watts drop to?

so far the 17.8.2 BUT the hashrate jumps around a lot...starts off at 43.1 and then goes down ...so im not sure if its the driver, wattman or my PSU at the moment. Going to try the blockchain drivers next .

GPU clock 1000
Mem clock 1100

Are you guys only using Afterburner or are you also using wattman to lower the wattage. I just received my Vega 56 Sapphire

Im using Afterburner 4.4 beta 16
Windows 10 fresh install

900 core
925 mem...more than this it locks up
-15 power

and im at 225 from the wall 35mh with the block chain drivers

any help would be appreciated

yeah for now only wattman can droping wattage,
flash it with 64 bios, it would help 43,7mhs/150-160watt,

36 Mh/s at 135 watts isn't too bad. I think that's the best efficiency I've seen from Vega yet. It will be interesting to see if that number can get up to 40 Mh/s at the same power rate with newer versions of miners and/or drivers.
I've got 44.2mhs at 160watt from the wall. But it is worse then monero and dual in current prices

I pray they dont force us to use wattman forever,  its like being on the bridge with Captain Kirk since over half these buttons are just for show I swear lol.

I think what I got was 130w and 30mh rate but  I prefer the higher 179w and 37.5mh and thats -40% power limit and -15% respectively.   I imagine rx580 is still the sweet spot but depends what stock is available to you.

39mh =1200/1100/183w @0%

xmr-stak-amd works with vega even though last release was June 1st ?

Update. Vega 56
36MH/s 135W at wall (wattmeter)

-15% powerlimit (But I guess it's not usefull because I reduce a lot the GPU clock, I'll check that later)
Core 925
Mem 970
Fan 80%

Just receive my RX VEGA 56 (Thanks LDLC.com and the discount Sapphire RX VEGA 56 (405€) )

Fresh install win 10 + last driver, after a few tests, I got 35 MH/s for something like 150W

What I can tell :
AfterBurner do not like Vega
WattMan is not really friendly
Voltage control seems not to work great

I'll try to improve that and test blockchain drivers are they worth it ?

I dont have a kill-a-watt(its 110V) - all my systems are plugged into 220V/30A circuits - 110V/15A keeps tripping and 220V is more efficient with the PSU's

According to gpu-z the RX64 is pulling 78-110W, it bounces around at those settings as I put a 55C temp max setting on it to try to get to get down to what griffoncoin's hash was, so its contantly throttling down then up - he must have very high ambient temps or something in this setup is not right for him to be getting such low numbers

I dont know what the RX580's numbers are so couldnt tell - I was just trying to get down to griffoncoin's hash
