I'll try my luck in this thread...

Basically I've got six Vega56@64. Five are hashing at 1960, one does a lame 1810.

Note that they're all the same Sapphire ref design, all flashed and clocked exactly the same. No monitor plugged.

I'm basically out of ideas...

Edit: that's mining ETN on the aug blockchain driver with CastXMR.

1960 card = samsung memory
1810 card = hynix
I thought all the old ref design Vegas had Samsung memory?
There's probably no way to know now since I flashed the 64 bios onto all of them. GPU-Z reads "Samsung" for all six...

My Gigabyte Vega56 Gaming OCs are frustrating. Barely can get them on 1800 hs on Xmr-stak.
My OC on the HBM of 920@900mv was working for a week, and suddenly decided it will not. It will basically BSOD upon applying the same profile on OverdriveNTool - which again, was working for a week already.

The last time I had a problem like that it turned out that it wasn't a software or GPU problem at all.

The PCI-e connectors from the PSU had gotten so hot that the coating melted exposing bare wire.  After enough use, they can short, the PC will freeze, if you're lucky, forcing a hard reboot.  During the reboot everything cools down, the wires may not touch, and consequently you think you have a software problem.  It may not be your problem, but you should really think about everything involved.  Good luck.

Awesome. Thanks for the inputs I did a quick check on my Vegas on this. This is really why I try to use the ones provided from my PSUs instead of common extenders/splitters.

If anything else, I will advise to

1. Stay away from Aftermarket cooled 56s
2. Dont choose Gigabyte Gaming 56s

For reason #2, I have 2 Power Color Red Devil 56s that have Hynix as well and they can OC to pretty much 950mhz HBM.

Wow that is really interesting. I am actually having an issue simiral to what you discribed. Going to have to check my PSU to make sure that's not the issue. Thanks for the suggestions man!

If your vega wull be with Hynix mem then expect no more than 1.8kh/s cryptonight, neo and eth speeds - don't know

I think you just got unlucky with the Hynix. My gigabyte custom V56 with Hynix does 1950+ no softpowerplay mod, just 1411mhz clock 940mem 0 power target. Probably chews through many watts of power, but at least it's stable!

Yea no ty.. You're probably using nearly 2x the electricity to get what a Samsung gets with those settings.

Hello everyone, im new here so forgive me for stupid questions.

I want to upgrade my rx480 and add vega 64 or 56 to system

Can you please post here how much hash u got in popular algo at this moment. I want to know if whattomine different from real world tuned cards

I need to decide if it worth spend extrea 150$ for 64 vs 56

Help will be very appreciated.

my rx 480 - 27 mhs - claymore single mining   1150 core 2195 memory -100 mav - Blockchain drivers, but i didnt flash bios yet. Whattomine show i sopose to get 29,5 and i get only 27 , thats why im couirious about vega
Vegas are good if tuned well (not easy) and have samsung mem.
Main profitable algos for Vega are
1. Cryptonight, ~2kh/s, ~150watt
2. Neoscrypt, ~2100kh/s, ~250watt
3. Dagger-Hashimoto, ~46mh/s, ~160-180watt

If your vega wull be with Hynix mem then expect no more than 1.8kh/s cryptonight, neo and eth speeds - don't know

As rednoW pointed out - as long as you get a card with Samsung memory performance will be nearly identical between a 56 and 64. Not worth the extra $150 imo if all things are equal.

Hi Guys,

Im new to vegas,

Today i got mine (Vega 56).  Cool

Can get 2000 hs in blockchaindrivers using cast_xmr miner.

My question is if we can achieve the same performance using the new drivers and claymore gpu miner for example.

Regards
If you like recent drivers and claymore then better to mine neoscrypt

Thanks,

What coins you think have potentially?

Regards
neoscrypt coins are small and highly volatile. So for newbie nicehash can be better option ))

Jesus don't offer him nicehash as an option lmao. Mine a coin you want to invest directly. Do your own research.

Anyone knows the hashrate of an iMac Pro Vega 64? Is it profitable to mine ZEC?
no, better to compile xmr-stak for Mac and use it. More profit

Thanks bro, whats the profit you think?

A single 64 on Zcash of all things is a horrible idea. You should focus on these 3 algorithms in order:

1) CryptoNight
2) NeoScrypt
3) Lyra2Rev2
4) Ethash

Basically keep it in cryptonight.
