Anyone knows the hashrate of an iMac Pro Vega 64? Is it profitable to mine ZEC?
no, better to compile xmr-stak for Mac and use it. More profit

Thanks bro, whats the profit you think?

anyone know of a miner which supports x17 for amd / vega cards ? I'm keen to mine sheild and mktcoin perhaps even some verge

thanks!

If you wanna mine some verge, you might wanna use Lyra2Rev2. RX vegas hash anywhere from 50-65Mh/s depending on how much electricity you're willing to spend xD. I think Lyra is as close as we can get to a CryptoNight alternative. Does pretty good at it.

Claymore NeoScript miner is out, plus 50% powertune 2200Khs. It does run hot, so you need really good cooling or opt for less hashrate and less powertune setting.

Can confirm it works. I just tried it with 3 Vega Frontiers using the 1100Mhz power play tables:

I did not use the -powlim 50 option and was using -a 2. Very cool I'll keep testing it out and see how high I can push them.

Huh interesting, I was not aware of that. Looks like we have several options now, sweet! I'll go test my vega frontiers on it and I'll report back what kind of numbers I'm getting in a bit.

I wanted to mine MLM which was x17, guess there was nothing really available.

Interesting about the Neoscrypt, anyone tested? what settings I would be interested to know in terms of memory/clock. I run 1350/1100 for cryptonight!

Very long ago, some experienced here said they would be a big failure if they did not reach 80mhs in eth with vega cards.
XMR will soon switch to new algo, and look like vega will stay as one big epic fail.
Like their custom version, came out too late in too small a volume.

xmr will just change something its cryptonight algo, not change to other algo.

I'm mining cyroptonight on nicehash using 8 vegas, the profit is very low, is there any better choise?

Your first mistake is using nicehash, ditch that garbage and mine the coin directly to maximize profit.

Got an MSI Air Boost V56, does 935/935 hash @ 950 HBM through PPT mods. Draws way less than 150w (130w if hwinfo's anything to go by). XMR-STAK intensity is 1940/1940 IIRC. Ambient temperature usually 65f or lower, cards never go above 57c under those conditions.

I have 2x Asus STRIX V56s and 10x Sapphire Pulses coming in. Think I should just sell them and find some 1080/1080Tis for relatively normal prices? Pretty tired of maintenance and tweaking on the AMD side. It's fun for the first couple cards, then it just becomes burdensome. Alternatively I could just hoard the cash and wait for Volta/Ampere?

what ppt did you use for MSI Air Boost i have 3 but they are unstable crash randomly more than 10 times a day and i have a lot of bad shares. any help is welcome.
dont exceed 905hz memory and u will get ~1820h/s stable. this is maximum u can get with hynix memory.
@905 1 of the gpu's freeze after making 1st share i am at 930;900 but very unstable
what should i use in p3 memory 905:900 is ok or should i feed a little bit more the gpu with power
doesnt matter what u put after memory clock. u can adjust mem voltage only via vbios flashing not via ondriventool.

Stop spreading disinformation. It does matter.
The voltage you think is fixed goes to the entire memory regulator.

Go read overclockers.net .
Miners usually need to read that including to make modifications in powertables.  Vega is a weird card and the voltages are kind of unique.

There you'll have a bigger picture of it.

In case someone  interested...

I figured out, Blockchain drivers works more stable if Radeon Setting process will be killed on Win10. You can configure everything in Radeon Setttings app, close app, and run miner. I found miners running much much stable after this procedures.

I've found similar, the tool that will control all is OverdriveNtool 0.2.1   Not sure if there is a newer one but that does everything needed I find anyway.   The graphs on the fancier control can be a problem, I find even a simple webpage can end a good run of mining so I avoid using anything with graphics as much as possible

AMD used vega tech in so many places it ended up not having enough production to share to everyone.   From their point of view its sold well its a success and lets them develop further.   I also expect a revision and more efficient Vega at some point

Well you can mine a good amount with neoscrypt, ETH dual mining aint that bad, cryptonight coins.  I like my vegas, they run well, and i wouldnt say they are a mistake.  If revenue is bigger than cost, then its all profit Smiley

Lol my vegas are chugging along just fine. Most people that complain are the ones the need the money to pay the bills right off the bat or bought them with credit xD. Even at near all time low prices I still make a pretty penny. I'm hoarding my coins until the next big upswing, would be unwise to sell them now.

Not really, my Vegas paid for themselves nicely in October-November... everything above that is a bonus now. Still quite a few Cryptonight coins worth mining besides monero!

I guess the OP was pointing out for people who bought vega for $800-$1000.  Back before October Vegas were being sold for $400-$500.

Xmr will switch algo provided some asics comes to play according some wild rumors.
This is big if.
Besides, they will just change some parameters in the pow algo, in order to block asics. It is highly probable that vega will still be very good with the new version of cryptonight, if the switch really happen.

AND if they switch to a asic resistant option, then its probably certain you'll be able to mine it with a VEGA.  In any case, why u not mine neoscrypt.  How are people doing on that algo here ?

Still not bad at all for etash, and drivers update may allow to grab a few MH/s in the future.
