Indirectly you do invest money in the project because you could have used the time to actually pursue a job that pays you money. But of course it is a safe alternative to get involved with cryptocurrencies. Airdrops aren't worth it I believe although it depends where you are from. A dollar in the US is not the same as a dollar in very poor countries.

I know that some of the bounty hunters and airdrop participants from the third world nations are happy with rewards of $20 or $25 per campaign. But the transaction fee is one of the main issues here. Recently, in many cases the cost of moving the tokens from wallet to the exchange went as high as $50. That leaves the bounty hunter with no option other than to keep the tokens with him. And in the end, he suffers losses when the token price goes down. And no one likes it, when the reward can't spent after working so hard.

I would say it will at 50/50 because we cannot determine the success of such project in the market, some got value and pay hunters on the other hand it will become scam after promoted to for couple of weeks much worst if project succeed and the team refuse to pay their promoters. In my experiences, I earned some handsome rewards and it helped me a lot to earn extra income while at come especially in this pandemic times.
You have determined it base on the success rate but the main fact is that you are earning from airdrop and bounties without investing money in the project. You have to do some micro task and it doesn't take much time to complete those. So, both are worth. Occasionally the participants receive good amount from some airdrops and bounties. So there is nothing to complain as everything is for free.

For bounty hunters nowadays it is difficult to get a good project, too many projects and mostly just a scam, if we can get $100 from 1 bounty for a month then we are lucky.

both are still a consideration for everyone who enjoys it. some people do both some prefer bounties over airdrops.
what is clear, I myself only believe in airdrops carried out by projects that are already running or new projects that collaborate with pre-existing projects.

That depends on the individual. For some people, bounties may be more suitable, and for some other group airdrops may be suitable. Nowadays airdrops are also taking a lot of time to enroll. Previously all you need to do was to provide your ERC-20 wallet address, and may be the email address as well. But now the airdrops ask for all sort of information, including the Twitter, Facebook and Telegram accounts. Also, you need to make posts with your social media accounts. In short even the airdrops have become similar to bounty campaigns.

The most important thing is that by participating in airdrops and bounty companies, you do not invest your money, and therefore by participating in bounty companies and airdrops you can earn good money for free and therefore it is certainly worth participating in both airdrops and bounty companies, but do not forget that most airdrops and bounty companies are scams and therefore you will not receive anything for participating in most airdrops and bounty companies and you will simply waste your time.

Some bounties are definitely worth the work even now that many claim bounties are not as good as what they use to be, I don't know about airdrop now but back in 2017 some airdrops gave many people good money, but nowadays airdrops are mostly considered a waste of time because of the peanut you are given at the end of it all.

It depends on the legitimacy and activeness of a project. There are lots of airdrops nowadays that end up with nothing yet there are also bounties that succeed which provides reasonable rewards. As for me, we should only be skeptical and try to avoid suspicious projects. Some airdrops are asking for too much information but don't pay accordingly so we have to be mindful upon joining.

In my own opinion, alot of factors will determine whether an airdrop or bounty is worth the effort that's being put in by the hunters, first, I must say that most, and I actually mean "most" of airdrops this days are totally useless and a time waste on the path of the hunter, I remember I've been filling airdrop forms and bots, performing all their required tasks since 2020 but I've not received any of those airdrop tokens till today.
Bounties are still fair as alot of bounties are always worth the work except for some that decides to disappoint the hunters by not paying or by paying tokens or coins that's never gonna get listed.
So in conclusion, we should individually evaluate the bounties and know which are worth the work and which aren't, all project bounties can never be the same, and as for airdrops, 99 percent of all airdrops are never paid, so in other words, I outrightly say that airdrops aren't worth the work.

I'm learning a lot here about how people here invest and that tells me a bit about the market in general.

I was wondering if Airdrops and Bounties worth the effort.
According to this article you need several wallets.
https://blogs.airdropalert.com/9-wallets-airdrops-bounties/
Then you have to find out about the drops, do somethings to get them (e.g. follow the coin on social media).  And there might be other steps I don't know about.

Coinbase is running a Dodgecoin sweepstakes.  You have to buy or sell $100. of Dodgecoin to enter.  That is sasy.

I believe that company airdrops and bounties deserve attention and participation. There are several reasons for this. First of all, these companies help the development of the crypto industry. They disseminate information about a particular crypto project, platform, company. Provide an opportunity for the crypto community to learn about new products and earning opportunities. On the other hand, this is a great opportunity to earn cryptocurrency without spending your personal funds. However, there are also downsides. This work is not for everyone, because it will require the completion of a number of important tasks that not everyone can or wants to do. But for me personally, since 2017, participation in airdrop and bounty companies is the main work that could significantly change my life for the better.

I don't really fancy Airdrops like that because I feel what ever you get from them is usually not worth it not only in the monetary form but the exercises that might be required sometimes that you complete and what you eventually get.
I would rather do Bounties which have been worth the work most of the time only that, I don't like when Bounties owners start requesting for what was not initially in the condition just because there is a clause that says, some rules can be changed by Bounty owners. I believe that part could have been stated to cub whatever you don't want from the beginning than to allow Hunters to finish work and now throw it in. It looks like a SCAM to me.
Anyways, Bounties are still more better to me than Airdrops.

Bounties....no.
Airdrops....yes, but not the ones you see on the forum. The only good airdrops are the ones where you get rewarded for testing a defi system or similar.

In my early days of crypto during the hype bull run of BTC to $20k, airdrops and bounties are the reason why it’s worth participating in them despite the risks of our time and effort in promoting them. I paid all my debts, giving back to my family, traveling back and forth in the Philippines and overseas, setting up my small studio, etc. No matter if the rewards are small, but it’s still a reward and I’m grateful for that. We should always acknowledge the risks that we have in spending our time and effort in joining these airdrops and bounty programs and having a mindset that there are no guarantees in payments, or if the price pumps, etc. It’s still worth for me, at least it helped me in the current pandemic since last year.

Airdrops and bounties are still worth it, just that there are so many scam airdrops and bounties nowadays, it's really hard to spot the good ones out of the bad ones, and I won't advice anyone to take it as a full time job because sometimes bounty payments can be delay for a month or more, and it's not guaranteed that the payment will be high or worth the job, airdrop tasks are more simple than bounties, but bounties pays more most times.

i think airdrops and bounties provide tasks according to the rewards offered but there are a lot of projects that don't progress and some have to stop halfway before the prizes are distributed

It depends. Bounties are worth the effort if you find a good one in my opinion, but airdrops usually are not. There are of course exceptions of airdrops that were very profitable, but that was either a few years ago (NEM or Dfinity) or they were linked to some condition that you didn't know before like the airdrop of Uniswap for which you had to have traded on Uniswap before the announcement of the airdrop. If you want to participate in airdrops (and bounties) then you should definitley create an extra wallet just for that kind of stuff because for most airdrops you have to provide a lot of data (which makes them not a real airdrop anymore in my opinion) and you never know where that data ends up.

There's still a chance with bounties but I don't know about airdrops.
I stopped doing that a long time ago for it just makes my Ethereum wallet messy whenever I check it with etherscan.
Don't expect too much there, if it's an easy task take it, if they needed KYC's and verification just let it go.

Bounties on the other hand have projects being offered but you should look if they are real.
Most of them are scam attempts and you will just be wasting time and effort working for them.

Given the fact that many new entrants are entering the market who do not have the money for the initial investment, airdrops and rewards are the only way for them to earn the initial capital. For the most part, getting a decent reward is very problematic right now, but I still had some that brought in a few thousand dollars.

It depends because airdrops and bounties are like free lotteries you can join. If you're lucky it can give you huge amounts, here in my country some lucky people became a millionaire of it but that only happened after 1yr from the date he participated on that airdrop. No one knew that particular airdrop will give a huge amount, some received but only a small amount if converted to cash. If you have nothing to do, participating in these airdrop or bounties won't hurt but your effort will slowly decrease because you are not certain if you will really get something from it in the long run.
