Soon we will be able to see a drop in altcoins in price and another rise in bitcoin. This will be due to the fading of the hype around DEFI projects and the release of investors into the most reliable coin in the crypto market. Bitcoin dominates because it is the most reliable and does not fall as much as altcoins.

Bitcoin has always dominated Altcoin, Moreover, the price of altcoin is unstable, So that money is very easy to flow in bitcoin. There will be time for altcoins to recover prices, when the time comes, investors will make altcoins as an alternative to get multiple profits. Overall, bitcoin is much safer than altcoin, but altcoins are always giving new colors in the crypto market, so that altcoin and bitcoin can complement each other.

Despite the bitcoin dominance, i think there still many altcoins that are doing good in the market. There is a hype right now in most defi platform supported by many altcoins. I am expecting positive development in the prices of altcoins this coming months. I am just waiting for the altcoin market to become bullish.

Bitcoin's domain is going up while Bitcoin is down which means altcoins are falling faster. It is a correction due to the sharp increase in prices in recent months.
Bitcoin has always held a large position but it will facilitate the altcoin to increase in price in the future as Bitcoin moves to a higher price point.
Of course, it is a progressive evolution of both Bitcoin and altcoins

Most altcoins are currently dimmed in value, but in certain altcoins  like ethereum, Litecoin, Doge, XRP, BNB and many more there are still interested people to trade, investors are still interested in these coins. Who survives then he is the strong though Bitcoin dominates, but altcoin must be able to survive in all situations if want to still get the hearts of traders and investors.

Altcoins are still important as a trading pair for Bitcoin so for sure they will never die. Though Bitcoin dominates the market today, I think this is only normal and that the dominance will just decrease whenever investors starts buying Altcoins again. A lot of DeFi altcoins are trending right now so that will surely bring down BTC's dominance.

Not really because all of the coins bitcoin dominated due to the fact that other coins are just being labeled as altcoins. We may not agree but alt means alternative to bitcoin and usually high valued investors will not waste and time investing in alts rather it will invest directly on bitcoin. This is what happen that we can see bitcoin dominated in the market. However, I get the feeling that bitcoin could go below 50% of the market in the future due to people are also believing altcoin investment. Altcoins too making a strong name in the market like ethereum.

I don't think so, we can't just generalize that altcoins is a bad investment or investors will choose bitcoin than altcoins.

If we look at the market in https://coinmarketcap.com/.

Bitcoin marketcap is    $192,272,300,771 while the overall marketcap is   $329,525,181,509,  so it says there's a huge market for altcoins also although bitcoin still dominated it at 58% currently.

Also, you might say that those are compose with altcoins as no one is really investing in altcoins, well, that's wrong because the total trading volume in 24 hours is  $110,568,867,096 while $52,299,855,960 belongs to bitcoin, which means more than 50% of the total volume belongs to altcoins and there are people trading with altcoins.

So what  to do you think? Are altcoin getting boycotted, giving Bitcoin an increasing dominance from now on?

Lately Bitcoin dominance is getting reduced they are now at 56% maybe because of the DeFi hype we can see so many DeFi in the announcement thread and people are in a hurry to invest just like  FOMO, and there are also altcoins that are getting attention because of their development just like Ethereum and Tron.

Time factor is very important in cryptocurrency market, time determine what we invest in, as at the time you post this thread, altcoins were down and the best thing to do is to stick with coin which the future is certain and that is bitcoin. Now, things have change, we now have people investing more in altcoins than bitcoin now. It is not about boycotting altcoins, it is about timing.
unfortunately they don't know that altcoins have a higher risk than bitcoin because altcoins can get a lot of benefits but the price movement is very unstable and can cause losses when the price collapses instantly because altcoins have price movements depending on the project they have.

Definitely altcoins are not getting boycotted.  I was asking myself why is the price of only BTC and ETH are skyrocketing at the expense of other altcoins.  Then it was done on me that investors are actually selling other altcoins they have gotten in order to buy either BTC or ETH, that's probable reasons why the price of other altcoins are dropping.
The reason you gave is indeed right, but there is one more possibility that makes sense in my opinion, investors are selling other Altcoins because they are still interested in Bitcoin and ETH, anyways it's also a very logical and natural thing because BTC and ETH have always been also has a lot of demand.
I can assure both of you that altcoins weren't getting boycotted or something like that. Since ETH will have 2.0 coming soon everyone wants to diversify their portfolio to have more ETH. For BTC, lack of confidence in altcoin, as well as the market, was in the unstable state so people also want to increase diversify for their portfolio with BTC too.

Acquiring and accumulating more of there top two find is actually very good, but know that not all altcoins are worth dumping for BTC or ETH. Some of the altcoins have very good potentials are able to give more returns than investing in BTC and ETH.
If the reasons for investing in these coins are or is this, then that most be a mistake.

With rise of the popularity of stablecoins, the position of bitcoin has been greatly shaken, earlier bitcoin was used for cross-border transfers, now used USDT.

Investors understand that Bitcoin is the most popular cryptocurrency and most investors invest in Bitcoin and that is why Bitcoin has gone so far from other cryptocurrencies, but altcoins are also very popular and in demand and may be much more popular than Bitcoin in the future.

Altcoins more popular than Bitcoin? I don't think it will ever happen.

The only way in which Bitcoin could lose its dominance is if it died or had a critical flaw. If it happened the whole market would take a huge dive and possibly all cryptocurrencies would be abandoned as investors become discouraged.

You'd need a dark swan event for altcoins to take over.

If you really believe in some alt you've invested in - big dump on market is the time for you to buy more, not to make FOMO decisions

Most people who participate are interested in the profitability of entering this market and should not be too greedy because the risks can happen at any time if you are not careful. Of course Bitcoin will always be the top coin in this market as Bitcoin's current price is very high and will soon reach ATH someday. The thing to do now is to wait patiently and continue to hold Bitcoin if possible.

Yes it is definitely spreading a dominance in the bitcoin crypto market. Bitcoin has created people's confidence that investing in Bitcoin can restore it. The amount of investment risk here is very low compared to other coins.
So if you stop investing in other coins, bitcoin will slowly fall. So it would not be right to boycott other coins.

Things will change over time as Bitcoin is the root and origin of all other digital assets. As more solid projects are developed, they will take some share from the BTC dominance.
