Bitcoin dominance is above 65% which is something unusual since Altcoins started getting more interest from investors. It also seems that this percentage is increasing steadily for quite some time now. This is not surprising since Bitcoin was the most profitable coin in 2019 and people don't take the risk investing in altcoins anymore, they realized that Bitcoin is less risky as the price almost always eventually recover afterwards when it comes to BTC.

So what  to do you think? Are altcoin getting boycotted, giving Bitcoin an increasing dominance from now on?
When compared to altcoin I think people will prefer to invest in bitcoin because if you see it often the price of bitcoin returns and it makes people prefer to invest in bitcoin because they feel that investing in it only has a small risk and we can see that lately the price of bitcoin is very low and it is a good time to buy more but that does not mean that altcoin is not profitable because I personally have several lists of altcoin that I think are potential.

No, altcoin has never had a chance to boycott. Because altcoin has importance in the market. If there was no altcoin in the market, the price of Bitcoin would have risen a lot. Bitcoin used to occupy the market exclusively. So I think altcoin is needed. It would not be okay to boycott altcoin. We should give importance to altcoin. Because we can use altcoin as an alternative to Bitcoin.

Thank you.

I think boycotted is not the right term. All we know that all of crypto have right time and all investors know this so there are also a right time to invest in every coin. Bitcoin is more powerful than altcoin but when bitcoin price will fall, I am sure that people will invest at altcoin on that time so boycotted is not right term.

Its the right term, and we all have coins we boycott in some ways. For me those coins are xrp, bitcoin cash and bitcoin sv, I definitely don't like eos and hype around it.  I don't like to read news about this coins, I don't own any of them and I will never own some of them. Probably there are couple more coins that I don't like.
I think nobody boycott all alts, and if someone do that person is bitcoin maximalist, you can find that term around the internet, its very popular in the past few months.

it's not unusual, for many years, it's bitcoin that are dominating the market with even a higher dominance that what you noticed.

Altcoins will drop when the market are not healthy, it's a normal scenario that would happen, there is no boycott with that, people will decide and they are just reducing the risk of investment as they know bitcoin is the strongest coin in the market and in this time of struggle, altcoins is a bad investment.

I feel altcoin is indeed undervalued, plus the number of scammers that make users rethink to buy altcoin. But something like this I think is reasonable because it is being improved and bitcoin has experienced similar things. Hopefully altcoin quickly returns to normal

Lack of trust on altcoins is the reason why the dominance of bitcoin is not increasing and I feel we have too many altcoins which has real value and hundreds were died and delisted from everywhere so only reason for people to invest on altcoins is to make some quick profits other than that I don't think they don't have any future.
Well explained, the main reason for failure is to ignore the potential altcoin and rely on non working product projects. The pump-dump altcoins attract the day traders but the profitability is under the %100 for the good altcoins. Quick money making machine altcoins increase their popularity in the bear market, the time of promising altcoins will come eventually.

Yes, of course, why not? Why people would invest in a shit altcoins when most of the new altcoins and 85% of altcoins are failing to give profit to its investors then why people would stick on those shits? Bitcoin is the best investment and of course it's risk-free. Even I also ignoring most of the altcoins nowadays.

Even if we exclude the Bitcoin forks and the stablecoins, altcoins still enjoy a market share of more than 26%. And this translates to an amount of $50 billion and this amount is very significant. For example, the market cap of EBAY is only around half of this number. So we can't really claim that altcoins are getting boycotted. There are still a lot of people using them.

I think since the beginning bitcoin has dominated the crypto market because bitcoin coins are first and foremost in the cryptocurrency market. now the dominance of bitcoin is increasing due to bad altcoin market conditions, some of the new altcoins currently cannot last long on the crypto market, and there are many altcoins that scam then the old altcoins also continue to decline. so it is only natural that investors now prefer to invest in bitcoin which is safer and has been proven to last a long time in the crypto market.

You can't predict that Bitcoin dominance will continue to increase for ever. Because during the last 3-4 months, we have witnessed it coming down from 71% to 66%. But still, we may see a consolidation in the altcoin market. The number of new coins getting listed has declined considerably and the total number of active coins is getting reduced due to smaller ones dying out. IMO, within the next 2-3 years we may be having only a few hundred altcoins, instead of the current number of approx. 10,000.
The bitcoin dominance will continue to increase in the coming years and there is no doubt for me in that aspect and you have a valid point in the next five years we will see many coins dying out and we really do not need this much coins in the market, bitcoin created a revolution and a new market and if we have less coins the better in my opinion, i am not telling i never made money with alts but i knew it was all momentary and i sold majority at a profit. The shit coins cannot survive for a long time, pump and dump and they die off Wink.
at least that is what often happens to altcoin, pumped high and immediately discarded until it is difficult to return to normal. therefore I do not like to save altcoin for a long time, only certain altcoins that I believe have the potential for the long term. therefore we must be especially careful for new projects

The goal of all investors is to earn money on investment income. Altcoins used to be just such an attractive investment, and that only kept investors in the market.
When it became clear that altcoins no longer generate revenue, but rather reduce it, on the contrary, most investors simply took their money and left the market, but not all were able to do so.
Few people need altcoins now, they are too dangerous.

Bitcoin has always had a substantial dominance of the coin market cap. Its been on the increase lately, I guess because people prefer holding bitcoin as against altcoin. Basically, there are only few altcoin which could be trusted to stand the test of time. Most altcoin have the tendency to be abandoned by their team.

I do not know if I would use the world boycott to describe that we are seeing, to me this is just a natural reaction from the investors taking into consideration what has been happening during the last years, most altcoins do not really bring anything to the community most altcoins do not innovate at all and most altcoins are scams, so why such coins should have the interest of investors? When you think about this then it is completely natural to understand what it is happening in the market.

Investors are just picking which on they will invest the most so if you are just seeing few altcoins which its price is rising, its possible that its the only altcoin investors find useful.
There are projects who are not bought are obviously boycotted by investors but there are more which you can find that investors suddenly trying to accumulate such as Stratis. There are projects you haven't heard before but are now rising Synthetix and Matic Network, upon checking they are actually great projects.

How can they be interested, when these ICO can hardly reach their softcap, and they keep extending their ICO because investors keep ignoring them, yes you right, investors are boycotting these ICO, and they have big reasons why, after all these years of scamming investors.

It has not been boycotted because investors have their meet up etc, but this is because of the mutual understanding from investors as they are already tired hoping but still nothing in return that everything is just in the favor of the investors which is really a not good idea for all of us, so better not to take risk at all and risk in other ways.

I don't think altcoins are boycotted, the main problem is that the crypto market get a lot of cashout and this cause the price where is and also investors search to invest on bitcoin because is the coin with most profit and always recovered if price drop.

Why compare altcoins to bitcoin superiority? Of course bitcoin dominance is going to increase relatively to altcoins. Imaginr all exchange and market had btc pair of course they could still be on top as expected. Investors know which is less risky in terms of trading and btc is always a safe play ground.

That's what they need to know to reduce the losses that have occurred this year. If you have experienced something like this in the past few years, maybe you just smile and see the prices go back up.
