Bitcoin dominance is above 65% which is something unusual since Altcoins started getting more interest from investors. It also seems that this percentage is increasing steadily for quite some time now. This is not surprising since Bitcoin was the most profitable coin in 2019 and people don't take the risk investing in altcoins anymore, they realized that Bitcoin is less risky as the price almost always eventually recover afterwards when it comes to BTC.

So what  to do you think? Are altcoin getting boycotted, giving Bitcoin an increasing dominance from now on?

What do you mean by boycotted?

I don't think that alts are necessarily generating "hate" per se from the community. Rather, it's just that people have come to realise the majority of alts are indeed simply tools for founders to make their buck before exiting without further development.

This disillusionment within the market may be the reason why BTC dominance has increased so much in recent months.

I don't call it boycott at all.  Investors were burned badly after 2017 rally collapsed into Depression.  Once better twice shy.  It is far longer for the investors to lick their wounds and overcome their phobia of altcoins.  But I do believe, in the end, the main altcoins will dominate and Bitcoin will lose the dominance.  Everyday we kept seeing more and more innovative coins coming in.  Those coins are far better suited for block chains defi etc.

Seriously most people are giving up on altcoins because of the poor market growth that most have achieved ever since they were launched. Many of the altcoins have suffered a huge dip in its price making their investors lose huge amount of money. Count the number of altcoins that have turned out to be scams in this industry and that is the main reason why many investors are now focusing on bitcoin investment only, therefore the increase in the dominace of bitcoin.

I think investors are just playing the safe game of getting into Bitcoin rather than Altcoins because of the certain recent issues concerning the reliability and legibility of the projects that create those Altcoins. Ever since Bitcoin is the most trusted cryptocurrency compared to Altcoins that is why it is not surprising as of the moment if Bitcoin is suddenly regaining its dominance in the cryptocurrency market. It is just that investors are seeing bright future on putting their money into Bitcoin that makes Altcoin to be somehow set aside. But still despite of Bitcoin's domination, there are still Altcoins that are making their way, improving their prices like Ethereum although its price is far beyond Bitcoin, at least it is still widely used and being purchased by many investors in terms of Altcoins section. There will come a time that Altcoins season will be equally valuable to people like Bitcoin which can be expected to happen once the market have already recovered if the Bitcoin's price will rise up that will surely boost the prices of the Altcoins that depends into it. It is just a give and take situation and scenario in between Bitcoin and Altcoins in the market.

Even if we exclude the Bitcoin forks and the stablecoins, altcoins still enjoy a market share of more than 26%. And this translates to an amount of $50 billion and this amount is very significant. For example, the market cap of EBAY is only around half of this number. So we can't really claim that altcoins are getting boycotted. There are still a lot of people using them.
Altcoins are not really being used by anyone, what people are doing is to speculate with them because what they want is to obtain more bitcoin in return and the fastest way to do this is to buy an altcoin wait for it to go up in value and then buy bitcoin but slowly people are realizing that this strategy is not working anymore and that is why we have seen such an increase in the bitcoin dominance, a dominance that I do not expect to go down anytime soon.

I don't think alts are being boycotted. I just think people are looking for the next best thing as it were. A new coin with use as good as bitcoin. There are a few coins we all know about and use and they are the alts that will last. New alts will have to bring something new to the table as they did. Starting with a secure coin which people can trust. YOu need a stable foundation. I don't really trust newer altcoins with too much investment since I have no idea how safe they are. I am not a dev so I wouldn't know. I talk about security because I believe people trust bitcoin security the most and that is why they invest mostly in it. It was the original OG after all.

Bitcoin price is constantly on the move. How to invest in altcoins. We're in a swinging market. People reduce the risk to avoid harm. In this case it makes more sense to only get bitcoin. Because even if the bitcoin price drops, it is recovering more quickly.

maybe a reason like that is said because a lot of altcoin/tokens are not profitable and many end up scam. so you feel you do not need altcoin, with or without altcoin,  bitcoin is still superior, is that how you think? if yes okay I understand.

It's OK to boycott it but it doesn't seem that easy, bitcoin dominance is higher because bitcoin has the highest value so it's only natural that bitcoin has more dominance than altcoin. but in the eyes of crypto investors, with the existence of altcoin this can add to the way the investors to get its own profits by utilizing the price of altcoin which is cheaper than bitcoin. in my opinion, altcoin is very necessary and very profitable.
During with many new coin easy for listing on bigger exchange market without have big rule with their future keep higher than ICOs or IEO price make many altcoin become lower price after one or two months later after listing, just get profit only for developer and advice coin team without think with how about investor buy with higher price make all new altcoin looks not interested for investing.

People used to be excited when they entered the market. Since the price of Bitcoin increased so much, they would look for other coins. They dreamed of making big money with big ascension. However, the price of LTC, DASH, ETH all fell very low. Altcoin prices cannot rise. Bitcoin domination is too much.
very reasonable in conditions of cheap bitcoin and trading will be dominated by bitcoin. it will disrupt the growth of altcoin but there will be a downward impact on the market afterward. we can look for the best moment to buy and resell it. but for altcoin, we must be able to focus on bitcoin if such a situation repeats itself.

Do you prefer to everyone that altcoin isn't profitable and risky investment? You are supporting any new coin any how. Even you Bitcoin is the most profitable coin this but don't you check others altcoin. ThoreCoin is the top profitable coin this year and don't compare profits of this two coin.

I feel 2019 is the year of bitcoin. At present bitcoin dominance is again above 68% so most of the investors believe in bitcoin rather than altcoins. No, we can not say altcoins getting boycotted current market is not in favor of altcoins but I am positive altcoins will also back with good strength anytime.

A few months ago the domination of bitcoin was around 70% and it looks like that has already decreased even if that was just a few percentages only. Altcoin is not yet boycotted but less buyers in the market, the dominance of altcoin can be used as a data to determine whether people have boycotten the altcoin or not.
altcoin can become dominant again when altcoin is used a lot and when many payments can use altcoin, while now there are still many payments that choose to use cash or use bitcoin so it is natural that altcoin is difficult to become dominant.

Yes, of course, why not? Why people would invest in a shit altcoins when most of the new altcoins and 85% of altcoins are failing to give profit to its investors then why people would stick on those shits? Bitcoin is the best investment and of course it's risk-free. Even I also ignoring most of the altcoins nowadays.
When most altcoins cannot provide benefits I think people will start moving to bitcoin. And for me personally it can be said that bitcoin is a coin that has more potential to be able to generate profits or I personally think that the price of bitcoin will be able to recover and provide benefits later, it does not mean that altcoin is bad but in my opinion for now it's better to invest into bitcoin .

The dominance of bitcoin will increase until altcoins prove their importance in this market. Bitcoin has earned the trust of investors, so they constantly return to it.

Tried to correct it. Bitcoin dominating the market since from the start, not just of today or just this year.
We can find that Bitcoin is really on top cause people much appreciated it over altcoins, but this not meant that people are ignoring altcoins, they just look Botcoin's potentiality that will give them more profit rather than of investing other coins.

When compared to altcoin I think people will prefer to invest in bitcoin because if you see it often the price of bitcoin returns and it makes people prefer to invest in bitcoin because they feel that investing in it only has a small risk and we can see that lately the price of bitcoin is very low and it is a good time to buy more but that does not mean that altcoin is not profitable because I personally have several lists of altcoin that I think are potential.

It is really better if we will invest in bitcoin than altcoins. There are garbage altcoins out there so we will be cursed if we will buy one of then. Several altcoins are keep delisting in the market because of their poor characteristics and features. It is now hard to see an altcoin that can meet our expectations where we can have a profit and not a loss.

Definitely, imagine especially those coins that are in ICO stage out of 20 new ICO one ICO will only succeed, Bitcoin is having a huge dominance because of the coming halving, this halving is very important in the history of Bitcoin, because of the so many milestones it achieved, in 2019 in terms of adoption.
