No. Most of the altcoins are useless, but some of that were not useless as the most. Some of them can bring crypto more popular, famous, etc.
At the moment it seems to me that those coins that are above the top 100 , do not have any prospects in the future , few of the coins do something , mostly working products only in the top 10

Altcoins cannot be termed as useless. They have helped people awareness. Every Altcoin has a lively community contributing to the overall cryptocurrency market. Useless Altcoins would vanish off the market sooner or later. There are some Altcoins which perform against the Bitcoin usually.

new coins do also have the potential to succeed . ive witnessed alot of new coins on the past that became more succesful and they infact dethrone the older ones  . you must not under estimate newer coins meyt  .
it all depends on the development capabilities of the project. where we see a lot of altcoins that actually lose their trade in the market after a few years. it can be a trap for us.

We all don't have any assurance in regards to any alts that will be developed, many from the past already been dumped or die eventually because of no movements and support from the buyers and communities, learning from those experiences we will be able to be determined how to find quality projects that have some capabilities for future usage.

Truth is, most of us are here for investment opportunities, we are taking the risk to earned but not to really support the progress and usage of those projects.

I think altcoins are not useless especially if there is potential and longterm I sure have such tokens in the future especially if their community is big and their admin or support is not dumpers and active in their group I'm sure that far they will come especially if their project is good so while the price of those who have potential altcoins will take advantage of the purchase of many altcoins so that if the price of the purchased only token is bigger then you will be able to buy cheap altcoins and with potential but before you invest or buy any altcoins you will first check carefully so that will ensure that you will have a profit.

Yes it is true that it all depends also on the team's performance behind the project if the team does its job well and continues to develop the product will continue to survive and strengthen in the market I think it will be like that.

Not at all. In general, every altcoins has its own function, uses, and purpose. Its also true that some of them are almost worthless because it has no clear function at all. It has no users and very negligible support from the community. Also, most of them are still trying to develop their platform, so they are still adjusting. Give it time and a little innovation, we will see the true potential of an altcoin. Only the most adaptable altcoin will survived.

Some altcoins are useless indeed if their project is not worth investing into or literally has nothing attractive to offer. But not all of them are useless. Like QNT XMR

Altcoins are not useless and I repeat with all confidence that altcoins are not useless. Everything is a process and I trust there is always a room for improvement and every step is a ground for taking other decisions. I believe in the development of altcoins and consider it not useless.

It depends on what all altcoins you are talking about . most altcoins are not useless especially if the altcoin is under the top 20 to top 50  . the rest alts are think dont have unique usage but they are only being built as a trading tool so that traders can choose a different option  .

I stopped paying attention to new altcoins and tokens six months ago. For me, a few dozen coins are interesting, for which I observe and trade in them.

A lot of altcoins are useless, but there're plenty of good ones that have an actual purpose, but we don't need as many tokens. Ethereum is one of them.

That's certainly true, mate. There are a lot of tokens on the crypto market right now, which are useless with no future at all. They're simply quick money grabs by their devs, instead of being something productive for the mainstream world. Because Ethereum enables anyone to launch his/her token with ease (without the need to start a Blockchain from scratch), it has been the main driver of this movement. Lots of tokens were simply created for ICO purposes within ETH's early days, but now most of them are forgotten or abandoned by their devs.

Despite this, there are still quite a few altcoins and tokens which are useful. You just need to find them by performing your own research. Those which provide active development, and innovation, have a higher probability of being used more than any other speculative cryptocurrency.

Speaking of useful altcoins, I'd say that the top cryptocurrencies in market cap fit the bill nicely. The best picks are Ethereum, EOS, Litecoin, Cardano, and Monero. But again, doing your own research will help you determine which coin is best for long term investment.

Nonetheless, I believe that altcoins are still useful since they provide many features not available within the Bitcoin blockchain. Even if the Lightning Network goes full steam ahead, altcoins will still be around the crypto space. The only thing is that most altcoins will die, while a small portion will remain with real use cases for the mainstream world. Just my thoughts Grin

Depending on the real use case and brought solutions to they crypto related problems I call the altcoin shitcoin ort useful coin. Altcoins are not made for making more money with pump-dump Ponzi schemes.

Not all altcoins are useless you can choose a good altcoin like bnb, eth, xlm or in the top 100 coins for now you don't see the value of it because of low value, I guess thats explained why your topic are altcoins useless because of the low value but if the bull run start you will see that altcoins is not useless.

yes, most altcoins are useless, but with a good PR team and a lot of money to back the tokens up, some of them have found their way into top100, we don't need thousands of payments solutions, we just need bitcoins and a small handful of other coins. Most of the altcoins we trades are just pumps and dumps.

Now days we have more than 1 000 altcoins on the market. The question is, are people really using them? Frankly speaking only bitcoin, ethereum and monero are used for P2P payments. All others are used mainly for speculation purposes. Is it worth buying altcoins now days? I guess no, because all of them excluding tether are following bitcoin price chart.  I mean if bitcoin is going up or down, altcoins are doing same. (Tether is connected to US dollar rate and used mainly for arbitrage trading purposes) So do we really need altcoins? Regarding platforms, only ethereum is mainly used, and mostly for creating ERC tokens. All others, like waves, neo, etc are used very rarely. Monero is used mosly for shady deals because it is untraceable. (I doubt about that, because one dude who opened a shop on a dark web for selling drugs was cached by police last week. For communication he used 3 level protected VPN and was accepting payments only in monero) https://www.wired.com/story/monero-privacy/ You can read about dark web here. https://www.techadvisor.co.uk/how-to/internet/dark-web-3593569/ days. The main question is: Do we really need altcoins? Or Bitcoin, Ethereum and Monero are enough for crypto comunity this days?

Even though the crypto market is getting a lot of Altcoins every day, and not all of them will survive and become useful. These good and quality altcoins with the same purpose will obviously exist and develop. So in my opinion, about 30 percent are useful and long-lived with time. I think that we need the altcoins for the development and innovation of the market improvements in human life.

You can not talk about all the new coins that they are useless. At least some of them can make money on speculation.
However, only 1-2% of new projects that appear every month are really useful.

Why are you saying that? Alcoins are never useless. There may be times some altcoins turn out to be shit however, they are still worthy to invest and gain profit

Try the top ten cryptocurrencies by market capitalization, excluding Bitcoin. Most of the time, the entire crypto market for Altcoins will move in the same price direction as Bitcoin but on steroids. The list will change over time, so it will be a good idea to monitor for the latest list on a monthly or quarterly basis. Sell all those tokens which have fallen off the list and switch to the new tokens that have made it to the list.
