In the last time of ICO very disappoints, many are not able to collect a tenth of what they managed to achieve earlier in 2017. But still there are projects that are really worthy, but these are very few.I don't think the ICO will die completely, there will be an update.

Interesting article about the death of ICOs and the emergence of IEO... https://cryptotradernews.com/investing-trading/are-icos-really-dead/

What do you guys think? I don't think ICOs are fully dead. They just need to be regulated in more efficient ways. Most ICOs from 2017-2018 never delivered on their promises because they were being ran by a bunch of assholes who didn't deliver squad... We need more regulation. Only then will ICOs get better imo.

ICOs aren't dead, but their risks and shortcomings are demonstrated by the rise of IEOs.
Of course a good ICO has no problem at all, the problem is that there are so many scams out there and it can be difficult sometimes to separate the good from the bad.
One thing that might kill off ICOs altogether is if IEOs continue to rise and they start to achieve much higher sales at the initial offer than ICOs do. This could well lead to a runaway feedback loop in which any good ICO moves to become an IEO instead, and so the percentage of ICOs that are good gradually falls away until none are left.

The problems of all ICO projects are that they cannot ensure the safety of their investors in future profits, especially the majority of them are already disappointed with many failures and fraudulent projects in which they have lost a lot of their money and simply do not want this to happen again if this situation continues all with the time of ICO simply die out.

No its not completely dead and still there are many projects that offers ico like Dencoin tokens, and some projects like Dencoin tokens are nice to have investments because they are good and we can make money from it.So its better to go investin in this project unlike thos eho offers ieo but not good enough.

ICOs are as dead as Ethereum. While ETH exists, ERC20 tokens will try to receive funding one way or another.

The article does a very good job at explaining why ICOs are being killed by STOs and IEOs. I still feel like if a legit company has a good solid ICO idea though they could get funded.

There's still a market opportunity out there like others have already said. It just depends on how good the idea is.

I think ICO are not in the best condition right now, but they are not dead. It is too early to talk about their death, because among the multitude of trash there are still good projects.
For the opinion you say, of course I am very agreeable. it is undeniable that the reality at the moment is that ico is in a very bad and bad condition, but it does not mean it is dead.
many ico who failed in the middle of the road even eventually became a scam. but of all there are also quite successful.
hopefully by starting bitcoin's move towards an increase, it will boost back a lot of good growing ico. and will make crypto excited again.
I think ICO had been doing great job until it became a victim of scams and dubious projects. Since the team raise funds and the project is not backed by any exchange at the time of token sales, many people lost millions of dollars to these fake fundraising so now people do not really think of ICOs as good as IEOs these days.

It can be said that ICO almost died, it must be admitted that the presence of the IEO made the market able to improve as it is now, investors were not afraid of being hit by a scam like most ICO projects.

Regulating the unregulated industry, who can do that, there will be corruption if we ever create one because millions are involved here, look at those rating sites, we all thought it's going to help us pick the best project, but in return, they favor scam project for a good rating.

The problem with ICOs is that most of them didn't even deliver what they were working on. How should we trust any of them again?

If there were only some sort of way to fund ICOs WHILE THEY RELEASE THEIR PRODUCTS and not beforehand...

Maybe yes, because this is new era. IEO. Someone want to multiple their balance instantly from IEO and don't care about project. I hope this era will ended faster. I will prefer traditional ICO than IEO. But, PoW is the real cryptocurrency

Yes, not all ICOs are bad, but most of the time ICO is not interested by Investors anymore, Investors prefers the IEO as a safe investment facility, because the IEO is guaranteed to be safe, unlike ICO which is still very free.

I see here ICO is not really dead, because there are still many projects that still use ICO to raise funds, and not all ICOs are bad

At the moment it can be said that ICO is losing its popularity, but many companies at the expense of their incredible technologies and products attract many different companies and big investors who invest through ICO, of course much depends from the companies and their technologies, capabilities, their product and much other.
ico trend not ended yet.i see still many new projects using ico schme to collect money.but actually trend changed now to IEO.it make investors more interested to join cause they could sell token directly after finished.

It's not completely dead yet now since there are still some upcoming projects. The reason why IEO come is that most investors don't trust it anymore because when it enters in exchange there's really a big difference.
yes, it gives a guarantee of being registered in the market for IEO tokens, but it does not guarantee that the project can survive on the market. or guarantee the price will be good. because the development carried out still depends on the team that works hard for their products. so keep doing your research before you invest in ICO or IEO.

Not only that, it doesn't even guarantee that the project is even legitimate at all, never mind about the survival. Looking at only the past two IEOs I know of, they died within a week of listing, and their channels died even faster, except for all the angry investors of course (but what were they expecting, people would buy useless tokens from them at 3x on listing day?).

Stay away from IEOs unless you actually love the project.

I also don't think that ico is completely dead, only a few of those who don't have good performance will die. today most investors are reconsidering before investing with ico and prefer the IEO because fraud threats are smaller than ico.
Yes, and some ICO projects have also moved to the IEO in making their sales, so the results are very satisfying because the average investor has seen the IEO even many investors have forgotten the ICO.
ICOs has never really been dead to me because if we are to study it careful and probably even define ICO, we will realize that ICO is still same as IEO, we can then say that IEO is just a guaranteed and secured way of raising fund through ICO, or we could just say that its Initial Coin Offering through an Exchange.

It is still the same set of people involved in ICO that are also involved in IEO except maybe bounty hunters, which I know for sure that hunters will also be involved in future when hype no long works for the quick fund raising. So far they are using blockchian technology to raise fund, I don’t think they are really different.
