While infrastructure and technology keeps advancing, our natural resources suffer. Sure there are people who tries to save our planet by diving into the water and collecting trash, or encouraging anyone to recycle or stop using plastic. But is it enough? If it is, then why are we still experiencing climate change? Could this be the start of the destruction of our planet?

Why you so negative? You are like the doomsayers during the Roman Empire asking if this is the end of Rome while Nero enjoys seeing his beloved city burn. The planet Earth would still be here after we are long gone. 4 billion more years before it will be disintegrated by an enlarging Sun turning into a red giant. People will try to fix the planet one way or another. Or perhaps, climate change might be Earths way of cleaning the mess created by humans. The sea rises, doesn't matter in a world without humans. The sea level drops, doesn't matter also, we are but small ants in a very big world.

It is true that the changing state of the planet is a process that undergo in its own system. However, the worsening state of the planet is triggered from the consequences of people’s activities. There is an urgent need to start acting and educating oneself in matters such as this.

It is high time to stop burning oil and gas. We need to throw all our efforts into creating alternative energy sources. Maybe in 2050 all this will happen.

I agree with what you have said. We  humans are very insignificant compared to the vastness of Earth's geology and history. Many climate changes have occured in the past and man is simply incapable of stopping a new one in our midst. Prepare instead of spreading fear and incertainty. The only way for us to survive is to adapt.

No matter what YOU do it will NEVER be enough.Nature is Satanic by nature and is only subdued when God is present to those he favours. The forces of Satan will use the forces of Nature against you to subdue YOU. Wink

cleaning the world of trash is not enough to stop climate change...
The CO2 released by factories and vehicles is still the biggest threat to climate change in the world, the possible mass use of batteries and also green energy will definitely reduce CO2 emission and will surely heal the earth a little from climate change.

The brutal and Satanic forces of nature were never man's friend in the first pace and he who places his faith in his own hands are at its mercy since the dawn of chaos. You are being conditioned to accept responsibility by those who have usurped and profited from environmental destruction of the natural habitat. It is those very ones who provoked it through policy who wish to have you self immolate and atone with self hatred for your very own race.Nature has been brutally and clinically Satanic from the primordial and when God is not present you are at it's mercy.

Don't ever ask this question again on Bitcointalk. Cryptocurrency is all about wasting energy to mine non-existent "currency". Despite being a supporter of Cryptocurrency for years, I do not like the fact that we're actually wasting electricity for non-existent currency which we make it existent. Even though Cryptocurrency may solve a lot of problems through mining, I still feel that it is not worth it in the long run. This is part of the reason why I stopped using Bitcoin.

We could actually use those wasted electricity for better and more scientific research that will make us understand our planet, solar system, the universe and beyond better.

While I agree that we should use those wasted electricity on better and more scientific research so we could better understand our planet, I think that awareness is also important. Perhaps this will catch the attention of the miners to seek a greener alternatives to electricity. After all, a little might go a long way, right?

Without human, the world will never have to go through this.

That is not true. In the past, the temperatures have been both much warmer and much colder than they are now.

People that want to "save the planet" must remember that we are not saving the planet for its own sake, we are saving it for our sake. The planet was ok before humans arrived, it is ok now, and it will be ok after humans have gone.

Isn’t the planet earth bound to get too hot, then too cold eventually? Isn’t that why the Ice Age occured? I saw in a documentary once before that showed how the Earth goes through this regular cycle where it’ll eventually gets colder and colder, but then global warming and  climate change has been disrupting it.

This is true, however, I think that odolvlobo has a point as well. Although we are saving the planet to refrain from destroying it completely, we are also trying to save it for us, its inhabitants. If we do not start now, then we are not only destroying the planet, we are also slowly killing us, right?

I agree with this 100%. Although, yes, we are also trying to "save" it for the planet's sake, the call for action was more for our sake because, if we do not take care of our own planet, who will suffer in the end? Us. Therefore, we should be more careful when throwing our trash elsewhere. At least with that, we could help limit the trash, right?

Another useful idea is to stop chopping down trees to feed electricity generation plants.

As strange as that may look, that does not increase the balance of CO2 in the atmosphere, since is liberating the carbon that has been previously absorbed by the trees and the result is neutral.

Obviously you need to re-plant.

No we are certainly developing and improving ourselves more day by day but we are not following the concept of sustainable development and without it being in practice we are putting our planet in great danger which no science , no war , no superhero can solve . So taking the responsibility to save my planet I urge you all to take as many precautions as you can take to save the earth and it's natural resources.

I think it will never been enough, even though currently many companies are using environmentally friendly waste management and many technologies that use renewable resources, only a small part of them care about the environment, most of them don't care, just think about profits

Trust me with the current technology humans can't destroy Earth and let alone can save it. Even a Mars size object collision can't destroy Earth. Only humans and other lifeforms would be destroyed. Some bacteria would even survive on this collision.

You worry about pollution? Without humans those most polluted river in the world would be crystal clear in less than 200 years. All plastics  would be gone in 200 years time too. Most metals would rust. In 1000 years without human those cities would become Forrest. Humans don't need do anything to save this planet. All we need to do be gone and Our planet can repair itself.
