There are 7 total voters with have 5 agree and 2 disagreeing.

That are still many people who are enthusiastic about Satoshi even if they don't care whether he was there or not.

Actually, we are here as people who like Bitcoin really love him, we would certainly be happy if he were present again and gave advice to us. But, some moments make us think if he would be better if he didn't appear in the world. because there are definitely who hate Bitcoin indirectly hate Satoshi also. We certainly don't want anything happen to him, so better let him rest and enjoy his life. For me, Just simple like that.

So, If someone out there always mentions Satoshi, and always disrupts his life, it is certain that he is a Bitcoin hater, and doesn't want Bitcoin to be bigger.

Now, we know who doesn't want Bitcoin to grow rapidly which only benefits for himself.

I'd want to hear Satoshi's opinions on past Bitcoin development and Bitcoin's current state in general solely due to curiosity, but it will be a net negative for the entire space. Why? People will be too biased to side with whatever Satoshi's opinions are.

I agree with your statement.

I mean, it is really peak curiosity on what Satoshi thinks of the current situation of bitcoin is. Hearing his thoughts, developments, and other information would definitely be interesting but other than that it would be irrelevant.

Somehow, I am confused on why lots of people are claiming to be Satoshi; like doesn't it give a threat to your own security? I mean, he still has yet to dispose his current BTCs as they are left on his wallet. If a person claims to be Satoshi, then they would definitely be targeted and flagged by people, ultimately compromising his safety.

If people will come up with this crazy thoughts, then I think it's even too early to begin to think this way, because how about the great hight that Bitcoin is yet to accomplish, like for intance Bitcoin hits $500k or $1 million any day in the future, then what will people be saying by then? I think a very topic like this was also created before and the OP's idea in that thread was that Satoshi might be somewhere living on his own far from family and friends, and doesn't use any cell phone or computer device and have access to some of his Bitcoin. I don't know if Satoshi is yet alive or dead, but what ever it is, Satoshi himself knows that if he appears today, then it really will affect the success of what he has already exterblish and I don't believe he will surface after all.

You can "respect" Satoshi, but at the same time still think that Bitcoin doesn't need him. If anything, Satoshi contributing under the same pseudonym would be detrimental to Bitcoin. If he wanted to continue to contribute, I'm pretty sure he'll do it under a different pseudonym.
It can be said to be a dilemma.
It does not require Satoshi to appear and remain anonymous, but on the other hand requires his contribution to develop Bitcoin using a pseudonym that is not detected by anyone that it is Satoshi.

I'm sure Satoshi won't just let Bitcoin go without his contribution.
The future of Bitcoin will continue and now it is still the beginning that makes the world recognize Bitcoin as a revolutionary digital asset.

There is a lot of controversy about the emergence of satoshi on social media and other websites. I still don't know, what the purpose of someone creating this idiot riot on the internet is. Because for me, I don't need Satoshi anymore, bitcoin still exists (even bigger) with or without Satoshi.
People must have certain purpose. They may want attract people and they get an advantage. When they published news about Satoshi, people must be curious to read it. It increases the popularity of the media because there are many visitors. So, it is about the advantage got by the media. Meanwhile for someone like Craig Wright, he did it to make people believe in him.

Regarding Satoshi, we may not need him anymore for the existence of Bitcoin. It is because Bitcoin is owned by everyone now. But we can't avoid that we still needs his thought for the development of Bitcoin. He may be among the Bitcoin developers, even we don't know his contribution now. Bitcoin is his masterpiece, Satoshi is the only one who knows better about Bitcoin.

Right now, I don't think Satoshi will play any significant role in Bitcoin development going forward. Making him active again would even be risky for them and probably Bitcoin too, their identity will be hunted to be revealed, and when that happened and the world found that Satoshi is not a perfect person, we will start make connection between Bitcoin and Satoshi's flaw, and people will not have objective views anymore towards Bitcoin.

Satoshi has created such a sophisticated invention so let them rest.

we don't need Satoshi,

We still need him if he really wants to return to the bitcoin community and continue to grow it. He is the one who created bitcoin, we should respect him, and never say we don't need him. Without him, there would be no bitcoin and we wouldn't be here today. But if he decides he doesn't want to come back or show up anymore, we can continue to exist and thrive without his help. Because he created bitcoin for everyone, not for any individual.
Even if we need Satoshi, the majority of people in the crypto space won't exactly accept anyone who comes out and claims to be Satoshi until he can sign a message with his bitcoin wallet to let everyone know that he is the actual Satoshi.

The person will be doing so in this manner since we have had news of people impersonating to be real Satoshi.

Back to the question, I don't think Satoshi's existence or whereabouts are important to the crypto community. They desire that he maintain his anonymity.

Honestly, if Satoshi is still around and there's a demand for him to come out - he won't be out. And that's simply to prove how Bitcoin that he's made was successful in its roots and attributes of what it is. That scare about him going out and selling that million of Bitcoin is for real because it can be an actual thing. And that guy who has that Twitter(X) account, came out with that tweet then he should have sold already if he's for real but he's not. He's a fake one and that's why he just wanna make buzz and I think with that it's good publicity for Bitcoin despite that he's got ill intention of promoting something else other than Bitcoin. And we're all agreeing that wherever he is right now, he surely is happy with what Bitcoin has reached this time.

There's already been a lot of topics regarding this, do we really need another one? If you want to share your opinion or stand on what has happened with the Twitter fiasco about someone (possibly Craig Wright or honestly one of the many Faketoshis out there) there are already a few topics about that, there's seriously no need to start a new just to ask such a question. After reading your post I can say that you could've just replied to any of those threads with this, are you perhaps just fishing for merits?

Anyway, to humor you, the answer is no one knows. No one knows what can happen if Satoshi miraculously decides to reveal themself so there's no conclusive answer cause no one knows what they can change and can do to the current system.

Lastly, it's "Do we need Satoshi?"

If satoshi were still around and publicly confirmed, he would be an attack vector for Bitcoin. His entire life would be dissected and any political affiliations or personal opinions would be used to discredit Bitcoin and try to splinter the community. Him being gone was the best thing that ever happened to Bitcoin and I think had he not disappeared, Bitcoin would not be as successful as it is.

Faketoshis are showing up everywhere on the internet for several reasons best known to them. I like to think that in the Bitcoin community we have moved past the phase of wanting or needing satoshi. Right now he's of no functional used to us even if he shows up.

Quote
Many people are afraid if Satoshi shows up today, he will change the source code and tear down Bitcoin blockchain. that is the stupidest thinking I ever hear. Because bitcoin is a public, and have community that cannot be changed by just one person.

Satoshi will not do anything to bitcoin source code if he shows up today and even if he tries to, he cannot because he has to go through the consensus to effect any change and that is not an easy process.

Quote
Many people are afraid if Satoshi shows up today, he will be sold his (million bitcoin, there is no evidence yet) he has.
So, what is he waiting for not having sold it on ATH before?.

Satoshi is more concerned about living a quiet life right now and not wanting to do anything that would upset the natural growth of Bitcoin. If he shows up right now there's going to be a bounty on his head from several governments that is what I like to think that could happen to him.

Quote
we don't need Satoshi, let him become a legend for his name, we have to thank to him for making the greatest thing in this century. I will be the 1st person agree if he gets the Nobel Prize. But, for emergence today, I'm the first person who doesn't believe it.
Satoshi shorecrest we do not need him we right now I taken the lead and pushing this project forward to its maximum potential.

Bitcoin is not centralized system, doesn't depend on a single person to function. Satoshi having sole power over it will be contrary to its principle of decentralization. He is bounded by the Bitcoin principles/rules like everyone else and can't single-handedly alter anything public without the consent of the general community.
He will only be needed for his experience, knowledge or guidance, and this can't still be contrary to Bitcoin else it's rejected.

Holding strongly to the good foundational principles Bitcoin is built on protects the system from attack or hostile takeover. Afterall, Bitcoin global nodes always run checks on the system to ensure that the principles (the deflationary principles for example) are adhere to.

Huge Bitcoin stashes will quickly lose value if someone decides to sell to hurt the system.

Let those running after being Satoshi Nakamoto continue in their race while we also continue with bitcoin we have adopted and see who succeed with time, there's a standard for knowing whom Satoshi is, they need to sign a message, but instead of them holding onto bitcoin which is the ultimate solution, they are running after fame and recognition thinking if they claim to be Satoshi, all power will be vested on them, nothing is in it all than wasting of time, bitcoin is what everyone wants and not the person behind it, you can see the community is less concerned about the numbers of those doing same.

Of course we need Satoshi since he was the inventor of Bitcoin, if he was not born, we will not know about Bitcoin until now.

But do we need Satoshi after he invented Bitcoin? not really, either he show up in this forum or anywhere, it doesn't change Bitcoin is decentralized and will always being used by people who trust in Bitcoin.

Interesting perspective on Satoshi and the waves he may cause, right? Lets consider: Satoshi Nakamoto's mystique shrouds the crypto world. However, doesnt Satoshi's anonymity protect, or perhaps enhance, Bitcoin's democratic and decentralized spirit? The pseudo-problem is determining if anonymity promotes stability or secretly stirs up investor and enthusiast uncertainty.

As the blockchain is decentralized and public, concerns about Satoshi modifying the source code or destroying Bitcoin's value by selling his supposed stash seem unwarranted. Your admiration for Satoshi—considering them for a Nobel Prize despite their physical appearance or identity—shows appreciation and detachment.

We are all grateful to him for creating bitcoin for us, but you're right, we really don't need him anymore. His decision to leave bitcoin is the best thing for bitcoin and for us because bitcoin truly won't have to depend on anyone. If we want to change or improve something, we need the consensus of the entire community. That makes the bitcoin network more fair and transparent because no individual can make independent decisions.

Honestly, I have a lot of respect and gratitude for Satoshi, but I hope he never comes back, it would be so much better for us.

I do ask of the essence of needing satoshi and if satoshi review itself today what is going to caused him is a damage by the government, because government will be after satoshi, bitcoin is still existing so I don't know the reason why we need satoshi again or is it any other thing we need from the development of bitcoin satoshi has no release, the currency has already being introduced and it has also exploit to certain point but the issues is that Bitcoin nobody knows the time durability, if it's what people needed in satoshi they should stipulate it

I'd bet my entire house that there's nothing to worry about - Satoshi will always stay anonymous. I mean, the guy is probably out there, living it up, enjoying his wealth, traveling the world, and soaking in the good life. Why would he choose to step out of that peaceful and abundant existence? Being anonymous has given him the freedom to savor life to the fullest. Satoshi is like the crypto god– we can't see him, but we sure do believe in him. It's better if things stay that way.

Haha, are we talking about another Craig Steven Wright here? LOL!

Honestly, I don't think it's necessary for him to reveal his true identity. What would it even change in the market? He'd have to go through a lot of proofing, and it might just land him in hot water. Plus, his life would be at risk since he's supposedly holding the most bitcoins. As for the rumors about Satoshi being revealed, they seem pretty baseless, so let's not get too carried away with that speculation.
