I am waiting and watching just BTC. I have some altcoins as Lisk and Monero but i bought too early. Other all my investments are in BTC right now and waiting for the best time to buy altcoin.
Yes because altcoin has a big amount also, just like bitcoin, altcoin is increasing rapidly and fastly, I buy altcoins and the particular is ethereum, ethereum has the second largest value of coin in the world of crypto and they say that it is following the bitcoin. Thats why i also encourage everyone not to buy bitcoins only also altcoin.
despite the fact that basically all the altcoins are falling and feeling the third bottom, now is not the best time to buy. So the profit / risk ratio is very low. It is necessary to wait, when bitcoin is corrected and the market of altcoins will give signals to bullish spread

Yes, the altcoins are cheap but the problem is day by day it is getting cheaper . I personally feel that this is a wrong time to invest in the altcoin market . (I am waiting for the upcoming fork then I will invest in the altcoins )
I am definitely buying altcoins . You just have to do your research before investing. It is all about knowing as much as you can about the market and about the ICO. I have recently been looking to invest in an upcoming ICO myself and have come across one that has really caught my eye, Propthereum.io. They are an asset backed cryptocurrency. All proceeds raised from their ICO will be used to purchase A-grade property worldwide. This will generate a rental income and underlying value for the PTC token holder. I find this concept really interesting as do many other people out there. The hype is building it around them. Check them out and let me know what you think.
I just bought some alts thinking they are very low price and i can sell them off easy for 10% gains atleast..they have gone even lower! I am stuck now and dont have bitcoin for upcoming fork..but, i still have hope for a final alt rally before the fork

Im buying golems. They are the best alt coin out there. Golem is very useful and better than bitcoin. Buy other than bitcoin if you want make some profit.

I am buying a lots of ethereum. My bitcoin is giving me so much more. It is simply amazing how people throw away money simply because of bitcoin.

The point is there is no harm if we try to buy altcoins and investing in it, this can provide an opportunity to gain other profits than we investing in bitcoin. And I'm sure there must be altcoins that can provide more profit in investing, and look at nowadays BCH looks showing the bright side of the price movement.. I also has invested in BCH, although not much but why not if we try, there must be a chance to get a profit opportunity. 
As others have mentioned, bitcoin is predicted to go to 10k or higher in near future. Buying altcoins is not a bad idea if you do not mind waiting for considerable (hopefully 3 to 6 months) time.
I had hugely diversified portfolio with about 20-25 coins before. But have reduced it to some 5-6 major coins for now using stop loss. Recently series of positive news came for bitcoin and bitcoin is getting acceptance at global financial level and hence growing faster. According to some experts, this ride will easily continue till February. Altcoins will bleed more. That is why for now I am staying away from altcoins and will invest back once Bitcoin start depreciating as altcoins won't get bullish instantly and hence will give time to shift.
I try to buy electroneum because I think it has potential, just always remember buy at your own risk.
Unfortunately for me im not buying any other alt coin as the trend of bitcoin is really high im not gonna risk my money for alt coin which is not stable and just come out of ICO.

Honestly speaking, I recently bought a few altcoins since I took advantage that I will get more for the little amount of bitcoin I have spent. However, the sad part is all the altcoins that I have bought before the crash begun seems to be crashing, I cant afford to sell, in simple terms, I am loosing in every investment I made except for bitcoin.
In my opinion now is a good time to buy altcoins. Due to BTC fork, price of altcoins is very cheap and I think that it will raise in the future. Of course before investing in altcoins, good analysis should be done. Reason for that is because lot of altcoins are scams and really don't have any future. I think that altcoins will raise once after the BTC fork is over. So I will keep buying small amounts of alts that I found useful and that could have future.

Yes i buy the altcoins that is low but have possibility to rise so that ill have a good profit. But now im stocking my btc as if have btc is now rising higher.
I regret that I have sold most of my btc and what I am holding are some cheap altcoins, such as SNM, SNT, BNT and so on, so sad, it seems I am a bad investor.

With today's high bitcoin prices sometimes cause altcoin prices to drop dramatically in the market, as some traders and investors turn to bitcoin, and it seems now is a good time to buy some altcoin as an investment because at the moment the altcoin price has dropped dramatically And of course I suggested to buy potentially increasing altcoin in the next few years such as Eth, waves, XRP, and LTC
