Hiding the knowledge about bitcoin/crypto from people is one of the reasons we haven't gone so far in terms of adoption.

If you are insecure about your neighbor becoming as successful from your knowledge(everybody does this), you could reveal it to them under the condition that they use your referral links,  so it becomes win win for both of you.

Spreading the knowledge doesnt necessarily has to be in your locality, it can be done on social media.

Be mindful of those you teach though. Don't reveal risky stuff like this to the impatient ones or those that dont tolerate risk.  Let them also know about its disadvantages and advantages.

When people ask, What do you do for a living? I have a full time job, but I also trade crypto-currency.  I do not like telling them about my currency and Bitcoin activities because when I tell people about trading currency online our relationship sometimes changes. They start scheming or they think "I can do that, better than you" and I suspect they want to secretly start trading too.

Does anybody relate to this?
If someone ask my job, i not say that i am on crypto yet. Because they will curious and keep asking me how to do it. Especially when they see us success, they wouldn't know how struggle we are in trading activity and think it is easy money.
I will tell them that I earn money from the internet but I will not say for clear and I will let them to curious and search by themselves.
I don't want to explain too deeply about what I do on the internet because I see so many rejecting from them in the past and I don't want to get the same things as before.
I will say that it's better you search by yourself, so you know what I did, and I only say the clue was "bitcoin."
Many people out there especially my friends who are curious about bitcoin but I only teach about bitcoin for people who really wants to know about bitcoin and the rest of them, I will not tells anything Grin
If me i said that i sell something and be reseller in local marketplace. I think with that already safe for me and they will think if selling something online is not really easy for them. And then they not disturb me again.

From my end here I do tell them I'm involved in bitcoin related stuffs trading, binary options etc while some are curious about it wanting to learn from me while majority admonished me to stay away guessing that I must have been involving in online scam but I wouldn't give a damn that won't deters or discourage me from my trading
Honestly I must admit I had made money from my crypto related activities and had been very supportive financially to my family.

I am more caring about people's responses, if they also want to build cryptocurrency after you explain to them, that's very good because adoption will also be more and more if they ask what my job is I will say it is in accordance with what I am doing, besides trading and cryptocurrency activities I also have a full time job. I like to share information and it connects communication to me, it's just that I often sort information that I will share because there might be a risk of that information.

Yes, actually I dont need to tell them.
Although they know I have been with crypto currencies. They dont know about how they do it. I bet they are also secretly doing it without my knowledge.

It is okay for me. As long as I have enlightened with what is happening in the internet and not just social medias and Youtube.
Also, they know that I have been making money secretly since I dont really care much about my monthly salary.  Grin

No I cannot relate because my sets of friends are not stupids as yours lol

My friends are having their own ways of living and actually I am the one who’s trying to encourage them to join or invest in cryptocurrency but they are hesitant

And why would I secretly trade when I can be proud to tell them so they might become interested and join our community here

Sometimes its better to not influence your friends and families what to do with their money , things can go sour real fast if they end up losing money because of you.

Traders with real strategy keep it a secret for themselves, they aren't going to ruin their profitable method by telling randoms over the internet.

I am too generous kind of person and also want everyone to enjoy the benefits from crypto trading but most of them were not ready to learn what is that and even many will not trust my words about cryptos,if anyone got much interested then I definitely teach them what is trading but not convincing anyone to trust it.

Dude. What you're doing isn't affecting their lives in any way at all. Why would that change anything about your friendship? If they're that shallow for no reason then i don't think they're worth your time. For me, i don't brag about trading. And it's not that often thaty friends catch me when i 'm in binance. But when they do and they get curious, i try my best to explain. It's not illegal in my country so no reason to be secretive about it.

Well, some times I chose not to tell some people what I do online because they may think negatively about the whole thing because of their level of understanding about what what one can do online to make money. Though, there are people who I do tell but it will end up become a disturbance on me for many of them have ended up asking me to teach them and that is why am some time secretive about my only business activities.

I don't trade much but I am no secretive about it.In my country there is a wide adoption from tech people about bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

People here always are buying mining equipment although I hear them complaining that it is not profitable to mine anymore.

There is a website where we can sell electronics/computer parts and that website is filled with mining rigs and people asking to sell their cryptocurrency in a face to face transaction.

Unless you are concern about your security, I don't think there is anything wrong with saying you are involved in cryptocurrency trading. You are actually helping in spreading the word. Don't worry about what they think and what they do after you tell them.

No I am not secretive about trading but I don't post it or talk about it to others.
If they are interested then we could talk,If they ask me I would answer,
But as long as the topic isn't open I wouldn't say a word about it,
I just don't feel that I need to brag about it I wouldn't get anything if I told them or open it up right so why would I even waste my time on bragging it to others?

im not secretive but i try not too mention it cause then i have to explain and then explain how its easier to trade then stocks. i try to make it easy and say it like this.  if you buy a bitcoin at 5,000 and it rises to 8000 you made 3000 and vice versa if it goes down

I am not so secretive about my holdings and trades but I think it is better to be.

My family and friends at work know my crypto activities but I am a bit afraid of the future. I always read about people who become rich of crypto and suddenly his/her distant relatives start to show up to borrow money or ask for help. That's a shitty situation no matter how you look at it.

I failed it to keep it secret but I wish I did. If you haven't told anyone yet, keep it that way. Nobody needs to know.

On the contrary, I will tell my friends that I do trade. But they think it's the traditional stock markets because I'm been trading stocks ever since.

So I don't know if some of my friends who I told about bitcoin is secretly trading behind my back. But I have no problem whatsoever though, the more the merrier.  Grin

At least if they have been trading crypto, they will learn how to earn money on the sideline.

Yes, very dangerous, people think we have a lot of money. Robbers are dangerous in my place, A lot of people got killed because of money. Some traders even hide their real idedntity in social media.

If you were being secretive about trading, then I don't think you should ever use social media and publish your story.

Traders that I know use social media are those who either run a private group or just love sharing ideas to others. If you just want to learn or follow them, use Twitter. No need to make an account.

I don't tell them exactly and specifically my activities involving cryptocurrency. I just tell them that I'm doing an online job because I don't want to explain things further.

I do the same thing, and part of it was true. My full-time job is online freelancing, writing, design etc, so 'making money online' is definitely spot on.
