At the risk of sounding insensitive and short-sighted, we don't need the people to buy the miners.  We just need the builders to buy the chips!  Wink

Companies only buy chips if they think there is gonna be a market for the devices they assemble with the chips. It is better for everyone if everyone in the chain makes money: chip manufacturers, device manufacturers, and the miners that buy the devices. That allows a sustainable business model that will pay over and over again over multiple generations of products.

Assuming 1$/GH at system level, that would mean that 50PH=50M$. With the current exchange rate and with the current market i simply don't think that will happen.

Says the guy running a $5 million dollar group buy..

My group buy offers 0.832$/GH and it's filled just ~27% with just 3 days left. I think this reiterates my above statement.

Submitted Questions:
1) What is the status, size, and expected delivery of the next batch of chips? What about the one after that?
re 1) This month: 850k, next month: 3.35m (order size), June: 6.7m (order size), assuming each chip is 10G.

Huzzah! Winter is nearly over!

So its about 10.9 million chips @ 10 GH/s = 109 PH/s

What's the expected $/GH for this numbers? Assuming 1$/GH at system level, that would mean that 50PH=50M$. With the current exchange rate and with the current market i simply don't think that will happen. Assuming people are ready to pour such amounts of money into mining. I am reading the Mining forum everyday and i see that people are very reluctant of investing that much.

When did FC say anything about it? First I saw of it was from AC.

Custom Cooling Systems
We have been finalizing on our HK datacenter with our professional partner on immersion cooling. This product will be of interest both miners, and other industries that require cooling of similar hardware. Our cooling system partner built it as an exhibition house where everything is clean and shiny for investors/buyers to visit and for ASICMINER to make videos as a demonstration.

This is the earliest reference I could find quickly.  I was always under the impression that the cooling partner (whom we now know is Allied Control) gained a space to demonstrate their technology and ASICMINER gained an immersion cooled datacenter.  It seemed like a win-win partnership to me.  I'd be happy to be mistaken, though, and learn that there are stronger connections.

Also, I don't see anything about our leasing/outsourcing of hashing anymore. Has this project failed?

4) When are the new chips expected to start mining in ASICMiner datacenters and what hashrate are you currently planning on deploying?
re 4) May-June for air cooling and June-July for immersion cooling. They are only capable of 3PH. Most should go franchising or as chips for other vendors' OEM products.

I think my main personal confusion on the whole mining shipping container project was that when friedcat first announced it, it seemed to me to be mainly a AM product, and that the profits from it would go to AM. In the first postings of the designs, there was no mention of AC and I had no idea who they were.  It seems clear now, that it was never an AM product, even though all the earliest information on it came from friedcat and was posted in this thread.  Now I am just holding on to the idea that AM owns or controls a bigger part of it then it does, because in the near future that is going to be an awesome product big players are going to want to buy, and I would love to see more of the action then just the chip sales.

Again, thank you to our board members for keeping us in the loop.

100,000/400,000 = 0.25 btc per share. Not bad.

Nice amount of money coming in!
I also really like the fact that there are already plans for gen4.

Jutarul, I would also like to thank you. For the next round of questions, I would also like to know if we are either starting a pool or participating in one, because even at 3PH, we will soon be a way too small player, not in the least due to our own chips.
Also, I don't see anything about our leasing/outsourcing of hashing anymore. Has this project failed?

Lastly: Can we please convince Havelock to remove ALC? I am short of a heart attack every time I open the site Wink

The dividend schedule will be aggressive, as AM will not require large sums of retained capital.

Thanks for the update Jutarul was quiet for some time so its nice to know a bit about what is occurring behind the scenes

I guess I want to know if there are any plans with Allied Control to bundle products.

Really just some clarification on the second part of the question.
How does ASICMiner/shareholders profit from it?

I'm going to try ELI5 it for you :

Profit for ASICminer shareholders, will be when Allied Control will be selling complete product (bundle) plug-and-play mining container already filled with AM chips. Because, IF Allied Control wants to build such a ready-to-hash product solution, they must first buy chips from chip manufacturer (most likely ASICminer). So we will see profit from this, *only* from selling chips to them. In this case please note that they are not obligated for buying chips from us, they will go with anyone who will be able to provide them better competitive price. Is this clear now?

Anyway, Jutarul for president !  Smiley

7) Is there an ongoing cooperation with Allied Control in terms of Datacenter development? How does ASICMiner/shareholders profit from it?
re 7) Their container project seems going well. Also there are third party designers planning to make boards solely for immersion cooling. So we don't have to spend much design efforts on it.

This is a kind of confusing answer. It seems to imply that we aren't really involved and probably won't profit from whatever comes of it. But it doesn't explicitly state that.

"We don't have to spend much design efforts on it", meaning we are spending some (just not much) design efforts on it?

Disappointed in the non answer to question 7, but overall happy.  Thank you jutarul for keeping the little guy informed.
If there are follow up questions or unsatisfactory answers I encourage to resubmit more specific questions. I have no control over either questions nor answers.

In this particular case I guess you're asking whether AM is invested in Allied Control or owns their technology. To my latest knowledge Allied Control is an independent entity with no profit sharing mechanism with AM, other than AM retaining profit rights on the mining chips. As such, bundled products sold by Allied Control (container+hashing tech) will both create a revenue stream for Allied Control and AM.

I hope that answers the question somewhat.

I guess I want to know if there are any plans with Allied Control to bundle products.

Really just some clarification on the second part of the question.

Seems like we're in for some stormy weather on Havelock :/

I can't understand why people dump the shares on havelock .

Emotional speculators who hand over shares to unemotional investors.

Would like to know when we could realistically see PR in a more persistent form.

Also offer up a suggestion to improve brand recognition, product loyalty and revenue. It appears there is enough C of G again to independently mine. What I suggest is providing a pool in association with AM's efforts as there will be sufficient power to jump start a pool. Mining still remains apportioned to contributions but it's a source of a potential 2% on the increased size of the network of which AM will contribute.
