4 blocks mined in less than 24 hours. Last week we found 3 blocks all week. The odds that this is just "good luck" is about 3.4%. Put another way, there is roughly a 96% chance that AM's hashrate just got a fairly dramatic increase. FC got sample chips, and got them hashing already, and their performance boosted AM's hash rate that much?

It's all just speculation at this point, but signs are looking really good...you can almost feel a coming FC announcement in the air.

WINSTARS - We are changing the face of gambling
I've already have an account with Havelock but I also see people selling "direct shares" from the information provided wrt auctions. What's the advantages/disadvantages of either and how are the direct shares held? Are they valued differently? What is preferred to be held?

I know thats a bunch of questions but I'm most interested in AM1. Thanks.

PT's > more liquidity, you are able to sell them in a second, if you want/need ... for Direct's you need to prepare auction, or some external deal.

Direct's > more security (you don't need to trust 3rd person, issuer of PTs - it will be HavelockInvestments from March,1st), Friedcat has your address, and he's sending dividends to you. Also you can prove ownership of shares easily.

So if you plan to invest long-term ... buy directs, or buy PT and transfer them to directs asap, but if you want to play day trading and speculate a bit then buy PT ... you can change your mind anytime you want and transfer directs > PT or PT > directs, its up to you. Welcome Smiley
Thanks for this! I bought my first share yesterday from Havelock and I should probably transfer it to direct share since it's a long-term investment Smiley

Okay, so if you have share(s) on Havelock, what is the procedure to turn them into direct shares?

You can find this directly on the Havelock AM1 Page.... here it is below...

Exporting Shares
Shares can be exported from AM1 into Direct ASICMINER shares by anyone, with the following limitations:
- One transfer OUT of AM1 will be processed free once per 30 days per account. Subsequent transfers within the same month OUT of AM1 are subject to a fee of 0.25 BTC for transfers of 49 shares or less.
- Transfers OUT of AM1 are always free for any transfer of 50 shares or more, but still have the 30-day limit between requests.
- Export requests will be submitted to ASICMINER once per week, if your request does not make it into the current week, it will be processed the following week. Please note that confirmations and status updates will NOT be provided until the process is complete.

How to Export to Direct Shares:
1. Push your AM1 shares directly back to the issuer, by using the "Xfr" feature on your Portfolio page at HavelockInvestments.com
2. Send an email to [email protected] that details the quantity of the shares that you pushed, the wallet address & email address you want them to have in ASICMINER's direct share records.
3. After we receive confirmation from Friedcat that the transfer is complete, we will notify you.

I apologize for asking so many questions but I would like to know more about AM1.

On the basis of being able to mine Bitcoin to the end of it's release, I feel AM1 is in the one of the best positions to be cost effective at remaining ahead of the difficulty/ROI curve. My concern is with diversification as there is a definite end point to the revenue for this business model. Should that be of concern given the future of BTC mining or are the potential near future gains from large mining operations dominating the distribution of BTC so as to not be so concerned?

My assumption here is that independent miners will no longer be competitive with those who can mine more cost effectively.

Where can one get a good synopsis on the merits of investing in AM1 as of today? Is there a financial prospectus available?

Is the exchange capable of and volume of shares sufficient to trade shares in close percentages to the current price or are there wide bid/ask splits in the order book with little volume?

TIA
This might answer a lot of your questions https://www.havelockinvestments.com/fund.php?symbol=AM1. Alternatively try the auctions page https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=73.0.

Thanks for the info.

A pumpkin mines 27 hours a night
I just got word that the next announcement is now expected to be given 'after the first week of March' and that 'everything is still on track'.
So don't hold your breath for an announcement today or tomorrow, but I feel that said announcement will be the publication of the final specifications and the details on how to order gen3 chips.

source?

We've got requests through to AM via him before and I reckon it's okay with him to actually give him credit for this:
AM board member Jutarul. He helped us get our collection of questions through to friedcat earlier this month.

We mined 3 blocks in a matter of 4 hours today? Wow! Our div for next Wednesday is already higher than yesterday's and we are only a day in to the week

Assuming the blocks rewards will be given as divs, You know how ASICMINER do not like to spike the price like this, They might decide to give us back the btc a drip at a time.

Block rewards have always been given as divs.

And 3 blocks a day will be nothing compared to when gen3 is deployed. I would estimate 10 blocks per day average. Wouldn't be surprised if we saw a 30 block day.

Wouldn't that be nice Smiley
