Hmmmm 3 blocks in last 36 transactions.  total speculation but do we have new chips running or just EXTREMELY lucky today? - https://blockchain.info/address/1HtUGfbDcMzTeHWx2Dbgnhc6kYnj1Hp24i

Nice observation... probably just luck... but one can hope Smiley

At a supposed 60 TH/s, the variance must of been extreme to find those 3 blocks by chance. March is coming around, it's about time for another announcement.

iirc gen3 datacenter will be 1ph once filled with new chips. 3 blocks is nothing compared to what it will be with 1ph.

I think its impossible to go from tapeout to working miners in ~10 days.

A pumpkin mines 27 hours a night
I didn't want to cause false hope and maybe prepare for some more shares before the rush starts, but the third block definitely caught my attention, as well!
I'll just go gather some numbers from fc's prior announcements and do some calculations. If we find a new block, I guess we can start some extrapolations. Don't get your hopes too high just yet, though!

You know. If the dividends didn't go up but never went lower than this, I would be OK with that Smiley

(Of course that is exactly what won't happen...)

You know. We have only 2 scenarios from here.

Actually, it's the other way around.

If you hold <5000 shares, you have exactly ZERO representation.

If you hold shares of a PT, you can contact the PT operator and use him as a middleman between you and the board. It isn't much, but it's better then the absolute NOTHING you get with just holding a few shares.
The PT operator might or might not comply, and if he doesn't, you can easily move your shares to direct.

Good point, but I would still say the costs outweigh the benefits when it comes to long term share holding.  I do use havelock myself when I want to sell <10 shares

In the event that Havelock can no longer stay in business for whatever reason, shareholders will send us a dedicated Bitcoin address from their email address tied to their account on Havelock
I would hope that the address would be tied to the trader account BEFORE a shut down event. We all know how 'after the fact' works out. At least have the option for proactive customers to safeguard their investments. This worked smoothly with the BTC-TC shut down, with no panic or even worries - because it was all prearranged.

Much agreed.

Frankly I'm surprised they didn't realise it themselves...

You know, they're waiting for some hacker to remind them that its important ... like always in Bitcoinland ... lets see what's wrong with the database now

Hopefully we'll get an announcement soon. After the failure of gen2, you would expect vital lessons would have been learnt for production of gen3?

Buying some shares now could be a good punt.

Gen2 is not a failure, Friedcat just weren't satisfied the power consumption of gen2 considering the strong competition in the near future. So just skip gen2 to gen3 for the benefit in the long term.

It was only a failure compared to gen3. If gen2 was not skipped we would have probably seen bitmain-like devices but that would also likely have delayed gen3.

I think it was a good choice to skip gen2 since gen3 will destroy the competition sooner.

0.2w/$1/gh is unbeatable.

the consumption power will be higher than 0.2w/g ,maybe 0.4w/g.  But still unbeatable.

Forgot 0.2w/gh is for low power mode which we probably wont need for a while. Still impressive and will be useful in the long term.

Actual specs according to FC

Power Consumption: 0.2J/GHash low voltage, 0.35J/GHash rated voltage

Besides all that, I see no reason to give someone a board seat when they themselves do not have the stake in the company.  When you hold shares on a PT, you give up a good bit.
