I think warranty is done through the reseller, but I could be wrong. So far I have identified one board for sure to be replaced, one that's behaving erratically and one entire Tube that's nonfunctional but it's probably one board hosing up the serial line. Tomorrow I should have a final count on what does and doesn't work.

yep I have one board that doesn't respond to anything and if it's in the chain it disables everything else as well.

another board will run for about 2 minutes then causes instability and then disappears. with those two unplugged, though, it's been running stable.

Thanks Canary and company.  My tube is assembled and happily hashing away.

SO MANY SCREWS!  Cheesy

I used this site to help with the setup:
http://www.iasicminer.com/index.php/action-viewnews-itemid-51

I'm really impressed with the size.  It's actually 3 inches smaller in length and identical in height to an Antminer S3.  I'd say the fan is slightly louder than an S3.  On stock speed (270MHz) mine is drawing 892 watts at the wall and on 290MHz it is drawing 953 watts.  The miner is being powered with an EVGA 1300G2.  The BE Controller is also powered off of the psu using a barrel connector originally for a gridseed.

I'm using an rpi running bfgminer and it is working fine on eligius.  For those newish to mining or linux, you can edit init.d to automatically start the mining software when the rpi starts.

Edit: Just ran into the same issue as helipotte.  bfgminer declared the miner sick after a new block was found.  It did recover after 30 seconds or so and started mining again.  After the next block was found, it kept mining without issues.  This was on FW 1.29.  Same issue after flashing the boards to 1.41, but it is very inconsistent.

I think 2 of my 8 boards are dead. Who do I contact? the email addresses, usernames, etc in FC's first post?

So tomorrow when my tube arrives...can I use a PCI-e to barrel plug on the Ethernet controller safely?  I had used these for grid seeds in the past.  Or should I find a 5 volt power brick?

well the 5 volt power brick will not kill the controller.  so if you have one and it works use it.

under volting that kind of gear is pretty safe.

oh my gear arrived today.

I got home really late long day in NY long ride back to NJ.  Ride was not for fun.  looks like my brother-in-law may need surgery for cancer.  will know more in 10 days or so.

puts  my annoyance  about Fried cat's shipping in perspective.

I assembled some of it.  too tired to finish it .

I don't really care what Friedcat says, the controller is labeled with 5VDC and I've been running it on 5VDC for two days.
It's got an AOZ1021AI switching controller inside it (same as on the Blades and Cubes for providing 3.3V) with a 35V electrolytic input cap so it's likely pretty flexible. Might run just fine on 12V, I know the chip is good for that high an input voltage so long as all the input parts are. Also good to see what looks like a series input diode for reverse voltage protection in case you wire up your barrel connector backward. That's good thinking.

So 5v like the device says, or 12v like the thread says?

The ethernet controller is the only 5V device. The entire rest of the Tube is 12V.
huh?

3. The ethernet controller needs a 12V 1A DC input. You could either use a separate AC/DC for it, or wire one
directly from your PSU for the hashing boards.

Do the ethernet controllers really need 12v?

Mine has "DC 5v" printed on it…

And is it center positive, outside negative? Or the other way around?
you should use proper voltage and proper amps.  otherwise you will brick it.

Hence with the asking before I just plug stuff in.

Everything in this thread says 12v, mine have 5v printed on them.

5VDC, not sure on current but mine isn't asking for more than an amp I think. The barrel is hot-center.

I'd consider putting up an assembly guide and ckpool instructions but I'm still sorta waist-deep in setup. Maybe in a couple days.

Thought about saying balls-deep but then people would think I was stickin' it in their Tubes and that's not a customer service we provide.

That would give a whole new meaning to the term "hosting service".  Might be lucrative though.

I think there is a link to some Chinese forums and some instructions.   I am planning on checking them out when I have some downtime tonight.

I got mine too. Just gotta finish up some things around the office.

Are there any guides for getting this thing from in the box to hashing, aside from the overview video and dogie's guide?
