Its not the riser since Ive connected  the gpu directly to the slot and it still didnt detect anything and it mines fine on any other short x1 slot.

Update:
I tried Smos instead and its having the same issue. Mines fine on any other slot other than the long pcie slot.
Looks like I'll need to RMA/return this board.

Update 2:
Received second board and it detected gpu in long pcie slot right away. was board issue and have returned it since.

Try using the Onboard Graphics for the connection to your monitor.
Set ALL PCI-E slots to Gen 1
Try to boot with the Single GPU ONLY plugged directly into the Motherboard. If that works its a faulty riser. If it doesn't then your Motherboard may be defective.
Make sure you are supplying power to BOTH Molex plugs on the Motherboard.

Hope this helps.

Yup the onboard has been connected to the monitor from the very start.
ive tried gen 1, 2 and auto. basic troubleshooting shows all slots work except long pcie slot.

Anyone experienced this issue on their end?

I had an similiar issue and was a bad riser.

In this board the gen2 gives me more speed  Smiley

Hey guys.
Im having trouble getting the X16 slot to detect any gpu with this motherboard
I have tried everything in the BIOS and nothing works.

System components:
G3900
Kingston DDR 4 2400 Mhz
120 gb SSD
GTX 1060 6gb (just one card being used to setup the rig)
Nvidia 388.xx drivers
Seasonic 620 watt power supply
OS: Windows 10 64 bit.

BIOS settings:
Vt-d disabled
4g enabled
Multi monitor disabled
Primary gpraphics card: Pcie2
Pcie 1-7 : Gen 1 and gen 2 for both tried.

What does work with this board:
Bios posts fine no issues there.
Onboard graphics work. With this when the 1060 is install in x1 slot closest to cpu it works fine and I can mine without issues.
Only issue is with the x16 slot; nothing is detected in it.

Troubleshooting done so far:
-reset CMOS (pulled battery, cleared with jumper)
-Updated Bios to latest versions
-Rechecked all power connections to the psu and the components (motherboard has 2 molex and 1 sata power plugged in)
-Messed around with every settings related to gpus in the bios nothing works
-No matter what I do the onboard graphics do not switch over to the gpu.

thanks in advance.

You can't mix Nvidia and AMD cards on ethOS. You could try HiveOS, which apparently supports mixing AMD and Nvidia cards on Linux.

Can anyone share how to get this board past 3 GPU in ethos?

I have 1 mix mining 6 amd and 5 Nvidia gtx in windows.  Now, I want another rig all Rx 580, in ethos. I cannot past 2 gpus. The 3rd gpu is not being detected. Shall onboard video be disabled? I already connected 2 molex connectors to the motherboard.  I once got to boot into ethos with 3 cards recognized. I adjusted the config and reboot the rig, it doesn't recognize the 3rd card anymore. All 3 cards are rx580. Should there be any sequence? I started with 1 card in gpu0, detected, mining, and added another to the slot nearest cpu? I added another 3rd, very near towards the other side of the board. But no matter how I move the 3rd card on different slots, only 2 are detected.  Please help.

I am trying to setup a 12 GPU rig with EVGA FTW3 1080 ti's with two 1600T2 PSUs, but running into the same problems with over the last day.

When booting up the rig with 2-3 cards in place i get Error: Invalid Device Ordinal

I initially began inserting GPUs from 1 to 13, but have also tried starting with the PCI-E x16 slot (slot 4) and then going top to bottom.  When I try this the monitor never shows the console data.

I had a similar problem on a different rig (Invalid Device Ordinal) when trying to add the 11th card, so I just let that rig run with 10 cards, which has been stable for 3 days.

Anyone running into this problems, and hopefully know how to fix.   Thanks.

Does anyone running 13 cards from the same brand on windows? Or is it still not possible and a mix of nivida / amd is better suited?

I do. Just make sure to use witndows 10 1703 and NOT the 1709.

I checked the forum and found people was saying use Win 10 Pro 1709 for 8+ gpus.

I am suffering with same kind of issue, I have 11 amd gpus on h110 pro btc+ after reboot sometimes it shows 8/9/10 but never all 11 gpus , In device manager  under hidden devices I can see missing gpus which did not come back even after uninstall & reboot, randomly gpus stop working on crash/reboot.

Currently running :
win 10 pro 1709 + latest amd driver 18.2.2-7feb

Did you put something between your riser cables, I am suspecting riser are touching each others which made windows to crash.
For me windows also crash I get 10 gpus so I run miner to make sure 10 gpus are working fine but after 10 hours or max 24 hours  windows get crash

Please share your Rig info if I am missing anything I try to fix
ASROCK H110 Pro BTC+ Bios Settings (Default Display,PCIE = auto/gen1,2) or any setting if change
Mobo Bios version
Windows version
AMD Driver
Miner
Put anything between risers on Mobo
etc.

Has anyone managed to use M.2 port with a riser? I bought one on Aliexpress but my GPU is not detected.

The hash rate difference between RX 570's and 4GB cards from RX 580's is not that significant. At most 1-2 MH/s. In an ideal situation where you could buy RX 580 8GB cards for $25-30 more, then it makes more sense to buy the better cards to maximize the hash rate on the rig and better long term value. With the current availability that's not the case and I wouldn't overpay to get RX 580's if you can can get RX 570's or 4 GB cads for a better price. One advantage the RX 570's have is they use less power. Up to 30-40 W less than RX 580's when dual mining.

I have a mixed 13 card RX 480/580 8GB rig on the ASRock H110 Pro BTC+. I started out with some RX 570 mixed in on the rig, but as I kept adding RX 580's  I moved the RX 570's to another rig. Most cards have different memory types and overclocking capabilities, so you need to find the best settings for each card. RX 570's and 4 GB cards don't overclock as well as the 8GB cards.
so it would be best go get my hand on as many as 580 8gb as possible? Meanhwile I could also mix it, but longterm move other cards to another rig / sell them?

got my handy finally also on a ASrock H110 Pro and regarding GPU I would like to go with Sapphire Nitro+ Series but I can only get 3-4 cards of either 570 4gb/8gb 580 4gb/8gb. So is better to have 13 cards (longtime goal) from the exact same series or rather start with one series and mix it up? I assume undervoltage settings / bioflash / dual mining (8gb is better, right) is more complicated with mixed cards? Happy for your answer.

Today I installed Adrenalin Edition 17.12.2 in my rig.

I hope its more stable now, had amd fall creator beta driver.

One think I noticed, I have 13 rx580 4G, the power consumption is about 1950W, with dual mining ETH and DCR, every 30sec the consumption drops to 650-900W for one to 4 sec and then again goes to 1950W. This happens with the new and the old drivers I had. About PSU I have plenty, 3750W in total.

I have dound the problem, I had to put "start /high EthDcrMiner64.exe ....." in bat file, so everything is ok, and effective hash rate is ok now.

Found it in https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1433925.9060
