Do not believe everything you read.

this received couple of airdrops today:
ALTDfdRoDeAcczUgkG7cbpFZkHN74VfE3d

sends it on to AXuwBHwM44NZ2cuYqB3a3hWk8XVC4zo4n2

i think i have not seen a single legitimate claim of an airdrop today. Everything goes to the same 10 to 15 adresses of which 13 send on to the other two.

all airdrops of today more or less are linked to

AXuwBHwM44NZ2cuYqB3a3hWk8XVC4zo4n2

and

AYEkRf9fNbLVkCTjHBpKHZD1X578TaYK6g

the wallets receiving premine today and not linked to these two adresses yet, will be linked to them within 72 hours.

these two adresses claim airdrops and receive same time airdrops from other adresses which claim on the same blocks even. So pretty much every claim of an airdrop you saw yesterday and today (and will keep seeing) will end up in one of the two adresses above.

Auroracoin airdrop is predictable. This is a huge bust.

Just read this page and you see why new coin is needed for Iceland. A fresh start without any doubt of corruption.

Just so everyone is on the same page, you're worried about a total of like 40k remaining AUR in those addresses when 5.34 million was burned?

I mean, just for record, that's what you're talking about right?

If people really care about future of crypto for Icelandic people then a new coin would be started fairly with no premine. Keep the same name on a new chain. Now the same shill accounts will come and spin stories about why they have to keep the coin as it is.

shit coin is gonna do what a shit coin gotta do!

(that said i hope to Hulu that 'rora' has decided to walk the narrow path and do the right thing ... Iceland adopting crypto and rebuking the 'just trust us' fiat fraternity can change the planet ... watching, but be aware!)

It''s the same coin mate. just new owners . Half The undistributed remainder(minus initial foundation funds) of the 50% premine was destroyed.

Just for clarity.

-Fuse

THIS!!!!

The premine was distributed fairly to all citizens of Iceland, the new team is doing this out of the goodness of there hearts to show the coin can be a success. No bagholders here besides the foundation. Moon here we come!

Sorry to disrupt the party, but "moon" is not the goal. Every Icelandic person using it is. If that is at the current price, so be it.

Can't speak for these guys - but i know enought to say that the main target is not to create ''innovation'', but instead to focus on the ''purpose'' of the coin, something lacking in many very good coin out there. It's a paramount task to launch a coin and hope that it will be used ''in the world''. The ''world'' is a pretty big target I would say : even after 7-8 years, Bitcoin is still a very marginal player. Aurora aim at a reachable target : Iceland.

As these vikings would say, in Iceland most people know everything when it happen !   Most of the population is centralized in one big city. So there is the target. Aurora don't have to convince 300 country citizens. It just have to focus on the +- 350k of Iceland, and these guys got burned real bad by the 2008 crisis, so the ground is fertile for such new idea, and the Fondation have the knowledge, the contacts and the funds to realize such great purpose.

There is +- 65 000 000 000$ in trade each year in Iceland. What if we push strong enought to get a 1% of market shares ?   It's 650 000 000$ worth of trades. Aurora worth about 0.045$ this morning, for a market cap of 400k. There is tremendous room to improve on a price point point of view - and i hope that a lot of guys in crypto will figure it all (as i did) and get some to participate to this journey - and hopefully to help reaching such great goals.

I was a stakeholder of the "old" Auroracoin. Can you please provide information how this coin differs from the old one and how you are planning to reach all islandic inhabitants this time?

This is the same coin. After the premine was burned the new team took over and next step is to set up Icelandic exchange with isk/aur aur/isk for individuals and merchants. Next step after that is getting merchants involved.

Also the auroracoin foundation has been set up formally here in Iceland and has a active board and members.

The foundation’s main roles are:

Support the development of Auroracoin and it’s infrastructure.

Be an official representative for Auroracoin in Iceland.

Manage and organize marketing campaigns for Auroracoin in Iceland.

To educate the Icelandic public about Auroracoin and the blockchain technology.

I've been in touch with these guys - and pretty excited with what they intend to accomplish - and will do my best to help them.

Next few weeks will bring a lot of good positive stuff - not only for icelandics and auroracoin, but for crypto as a whole, if it understand the importance of what they try to do. We have a chance here to show the entire world that it is possible to have a crytpocurrency vastly used in a specific country.

Iceland is the perfect spot for such experiment - and i realy do hope that most of us will figure it out and jump in this journey.

What happens to the old coins; that was generated? Will this NEW Aurora coin will be totally different?

Where do I see new coin specifications? Like number of coins to be mined? and bla bla..

There was a 50% premine, 25% of the premine coins have been destroyed, the other 25% was done via airdrop. So about 40% of the coins are in circulation although the new foundation has 1 million coins.

It's the same chain as before just new people have taken over.

Coin is dirt cheap at the moment, you should buy now before it's too late so we can have more bagholders that we can dump on.

Reykjavik, May 1, 2015

As of today the development of Auroracoin has been officially taken over by a new team.

This team has been formed by a group of serious members of the Auroracoin community who understand the vision the initial developer has announced on February 3rd 2014. That vision aims to liberate the Icelandic people of a centrally controlled monetary system by means of blockchain technology.

We first of all would like to thank Baldur Friggjar Odinsson, for his foresight, his dedication and being true to his word. His vision has lead to some exciting turnpoints for the crypto landscape with historic proportions.

Today we honour Baldur’s vision by the creation of an official Icelandic foundation dedicated to the promotion of cryptocurrency in Iceland.

It is our intention to build on Baldur’s legacy and fulfil the goals set out in the original plan. To accomplish this will initially mean bringing the core coin technology up to the current standards and investing in general adoption of Auroracoin by the people of Iceland. By executing this plan through the Auroracoin Foundation we will be acting with transparency and accountability.

We are fortunate to have a very capable and dedicated team of developers working on major improvements of the blockchain and wallets. We are also working hard to finish the AUR-ISK exchange which will enable the Icelandic people to break free from the currency controls at last.

We are very excited to start this next phase of Auroracoin and hope to achieve great things together with you, the community. Please join us on this new Bitcointalk thread where we can provide you with updated information.

Kind regards,
The Auroracoin development team
