Hello guys I have opened topic regarding PSU but I post also here, someone told me using 2400 W 1 PSU will be more cost efficient because I can run 2 avalons with this PSU.  is it so?   do you know where can I get such PSU under 110 USD?   one user posted here but there was no link to buy it.

One more noob question:  before more Avalons arrive,   can I connect 1 PSU 2400W  just for 1 Avalon?     really hope you can help me guys Wink  its my first time running Avalon

and use Slush

5% off.

I ended up getting one.

You can run 1 or 2  your choice

Ok I have finally found the reason of the low hashrate.

I have bought 2 avalons 741' from second hand (1 week used in the description, listed as new). So they were working together and pushing barely over 13 Th/s.

After switching one unit from the pair to brand new my first shift already went up to 15 Th/s.

If they are used the seller may have tried to sell you 721s not 741s.

How many pcie jacks do they have?

Still waiting on order placed last sunday the 5th.  It came to 765 usd with the shipping.  I think they are ignoring my order because it was placed before the price rise.  Now coins took off and the  delay of it  is annoying. Also my freshly burnt s-9  is not getting any service as bitmain is ignoring me on that repair request.

So at the moment I am quite annoyed with Canaan.io  and with bitmain.com

Still a coin price of 4000 plus is nice to see.

Trying to sign on at the  moment  and website seems unreachable  Sad

My miner has been completely stock since I started it up, I think the fan is on Auto and temps don't go higher than 29C.

here is my chart but don't know what it means:

I am guess it's good since it's doing what it suppose to, will be getting 2 more miners next week.
I also saw that Canaan changed the payments accepted but when I placed my order I received an email asking how you would like to make a payment.
I replied back stating I would like to do a direct bank transfer like I did with my first order, email was received a few minutes later with there banking info.
My bank sent the payment the same date and 24 hours later my order was processing, two days later it shipped and I should be receiving them by Tuesday this week.
This is my second order with them and it was quicker than the first order.

when did you place your order?

I placed my order on August 8th and completed August 10th, will be receiving it August 15th.

I have done two orders with Caanan. It looks like it takes me one week to receive the miners, from order date, payment by wire transfer, to receiving the miners. ( I live in Ohio, United States)

I have temporary switched to Kano Pool to check if hashrate will increase. It looks the same as on the Slush Pool.

Done 3 shifts

your time frames are just too short.

give it 48 hours.

next what did you put the minimum fan to you had it at 100%  I told you set it to 50%

did you do this?

also set the volts to 0  not plus 1

and get a dc meter  find out what your psu is sending to the gear  at load  if it is 11.9 volts that is part of your problem.

voltage sag lowers hash rate.

also screen shot  this page from kano
notice the dips  some times he goes off line
some time you may go off line.  the big dips were my end  the little dips were his end

I guess they are not interested in my 10 x 741 order order, no response anymore. For a company that raised 43 million USD their logistics are a joke. Someone should explain to these guys that the problem of internet payment and shipment was solved 25 years ago.Their whole ordering process is a manual action on their backend. Will cancel and spend 10k USD somewhere else

Oh yeah, kano all the way! Don't use anyone else. Maybe I'm just not understanding these voltage settings. I read up about it, but maybe I misunderstood. I thought the +1 would give me better hash rate, but it just causes the miners to flake out so I returned to 0. Are you saying that going with a - setting could increase hash rate? I guess I'm just not understanding what the setting actually changes.
It is setting the Vcore voltage. Somewhere Canaan has info as to what 1, 0, -1, -2 actually set the core voltage to. As to the effect of that, the Avalons use a type of auto-tune sort of like Bitmain has. Difference is, Bitmains version is only ran when the miner boots -- with the Avalons the software is continuously checking how the chips are performing at the set voltage then changing clock speed as needed to keep them happy as far as temp and errors go. Using monitor software like Awesome Miner that logs and plots miner performance you can see the hash rate constantly hunting up and down every couple minutes or so as the tuning software does its thing.

As a result, yes if the miner is in a cool location then using 0 or +1 it will run faster as long as temps are good. Using -1 or -2 drops the Vcore but since lower core voltage also means higher errors (compared to running at a higher voltage at the same freq) the tuning in turn ends up running the miner slower and cooler.

As for running temps, generally mine are at 85-95C with ambient temp at 29.5C

Do you also get 7.3 Th/s at the pool? I have checked at cgminer one is running at 7.5 Th/s and another one at 7.9 Th/s. At the pool my Scoring Hash Rate is in between 12.59-13.50 Th/s for the both miners together during last 24 hours.

Hasn't quite been 24 hours yet, but im not impressed with hashrate. Definitely getting less than advertised. So basically with two 741s, with voltage at 0 and fans at 100% im pulling 2200 watts for the same hashrate that my S9's give me at 1350 watts... What am i missing?

Never set your fans to 100 percent.

Set them to  30 percent

The fan software is automatic so. When you set the minimum to 100 percent it overrides the fan software.

Try setting at 30 percent.

Also try to see what your power is. 12.2 is higher hash rate them 12.0

I left it auto at first but they got incredibly hot to the touch. Did not like the temps I was seeing... Bumping up the fans put them in the range I was comfortable in. What are your temps on auto?
