It's times like these that I miss the days of an Israeli–Swedish–American–Chinese competitive asic market (damn, three years seems like a decade in this corner of technology)

My Avalon miner dont get above 36 degrees but 4800 RPM, is it possible to config the miner to set the degrees to 50 and lower the RPM for being less noisy?
Its not necessary to set the fan rate so high and temperature so low I think.  Roll Eyes

FYI I finally received a BTC payment address to submit payment for my most recent order. The order was placed on august 8th and I received payment addy on august 14th. Hopefully they'll ship quickly now that I am paid up.
Thank you for letting us know.  What BTC price did they use for calculating the final bill?

Well i saw their email and immediately submitted payment, so it was the current going price which is nice.

good for you I am glad they sent one out at a bargain price.

coins went up a lot from 8/8 to 8/14

I could only hope they send me a bill today as it is now 1125 in china tues in the am.

On a sidenote, I have a question for those of you who host your Avalon equipment. Do you get a controller for each miner? If not what do the hosting providers usually want? Also, what do you do for PSU's? How do the hosting companies prefer you handle that? FYI I use the Canadian based companies.

1 controller can manage up to 20 miners. For the rest I don't really understand your question. Don't know which colo you are using but in my case I decide how to set it up, the colo just provides power and ip connectivity to my router / firewall. Behind this router I have my mining rigs.

Oh I understand the technical aspect of it, just wondering if colo's have put any special requirements to help them keep things organized. If I sent them 20 741's and 1 controller, that will only work assuming they have room to put 20 miners on the same shelf\rack.

I see your point, mine puts 2 741 per shelf

No I have 4 radeon cards, RX 550 and one R9 280x making me an average of $4 a day on mutipool hub
that's why I do eth and not the others.
1080 are way over my budget to consider one, trying to get another 280x instead but prices keep going over 150 on ebay.

Phillipma - why zcoins? I also GPU mine but not as much as you do, I have my mines setup for ETH coin.

zec are a few cards

skunk are most cards

eth is not worth mining if you have all 1080 ti's like i do

lets face it coins shot way up and they are holding back gear due to the 4300 usd a coin price.  It is no more complicated then that.

at least they do not have the coin and as coin goes up and up I have been cashing some I sold some today{.100} at 4287 a coin.

I'm still hoping that one day a manufacturer will stand up that is honourable. Canaan was the one with the best reputation, I put in my order before it shot up, I have an invoice for x usd, i want to pay with bank transfer, they should just honour the deal. The whole BTC scene has a reputation for being a scam because of this stuff.

this is one more reason why I have a lot of gpus mining and asic miners mining.

I ended up selling some coins buying 3x 1080ti and mining zec

I can not wait for them and then have them say send me more .  So I buy gpu's

I mix mine due to the  methods asic builders use to sell their product.

I am sure thats what they are doing, but why not be honest about it? Thats the whole reason i bought Canaan equipment, to have an experience with a company better than BITMAIN...

I agree it sucks but as they are not holding the coin in my case I sold some at the high price.

This type of sales tactic on thier part is not good but less worse then bitmain.

I am speaking to those that they did not take funds.

Bitmain  took the funds of the s-9 and are not going to ship the s-9 until mid September.  That is worse method.

I am annoyed since bitmain has yet to take the repair for a dead s-9 board and avalon has yet to take my money for this gear.  about 12 or 13th for the two deals.

on the good side today I got another 1080ti which is hashing and earn money as I type.  I am up to 15 1080 ti's

I have 70TH blocked because of this. My colo is asking when I'm going to bring in the new gear and I can not answer them because Canaan has gone silent! It is just bad business that leaves a bad mark on the BTC scene.
