it's all sold out.

The a7 series is  Sold Out and EOL.. end of Life.  The last chips are coming in from package and test and will be assembled
into product that has been Pre-Sold.

the 8 series will be announced on the 20th ( cross fingers)

Supply will be limited as production ramps through  Q1.

Where will be the best place to get 50-60 of the 8 series? I placed a ticket for a bulk order on your website.

The demand is just crazy. As someone who is trying to push mining all around the world and especially enabling the little guy I'm forced to make
decisions that are not easy.  I can't tell you the best place yet.   Jan  will be very tight,  opening up in Feb and march.   That's the best I can
   do.

I completely understand, I can't even imagine the demand for these right now. I understand it is hard to remember the small guys even if I am placing a pretty large order it has got to be small compared to others lol, I appreciate you taking the time to come onto the forums and chat with us! I would be super happy to get a January order but I would be stoked to get a Feb order as well, whatever you guys can do for me just let me know! I'm definitely interested in 60 of them. I've been building up to expand my mining operation and go big time.

Blade = hash board.

For more information, you can see my review where I have disassembled one A741 unit.

The link is in my signature.

Thanks a lot HaggsFin.  Your setup review helped me out a ton tonight.  It allowed me to link up my Avalon to the internet to start mining.  I was lost without your review.  Thanks Again! Grin

And thank you all for the help.  I was able to run her off of the two power supplies.  I had to do the motherboard hack to the power cable in order to get the PSU's to turn on.  She is running smoothly at 7.3 TH/s with the two Corsair 750m's.

I have an Antminer S7 that I am hoping a power supply will arrive on Tuesday for.  Then I am patiently waiting for an A8 Cool

This is a fun hobby, and I look forward to learning more about it with you all.

I will be running my Avalon 741 with 2 PSU's.  It will be the Corsair https://www.bestbuy.com/site/corsair-cx-series-modular-cx750m-750w-atx-power-supply-black/8324202.p?skuId=8324202&ref=212&loc=1&ksid=ed5a8a30-708b-481a-b8fe-4b26a5dac4ab&ksprof_id=8&ksaffcode=pg199269&ksdevice=c&lsft=ref:212,loc:2

My question is that these PSU's only come with 2 dual PCI-E cables.  So I will have 4 PCI-E connections coming from each PSU.  I will have one PCI-E connector not being used.

Will this work?  Does anyone have a link to an Avalon 741 running off of two PSU's?

Like this:

I did this when I first started mining which is ok but these are better and cheaper when you start to grow:

I'm pretty sure the blades are the boards with all the chips.

And by blade you mean left side/right side?  I am assuming a blade is the connections on each side?

This will work, just make sure one PSU powers one blade and the other PSU powers the second blade.  DO NOT have two PSUs connected to the same blade.

Back to 741s, exactly how much power do they pull?  I still can't make sense of the official spec:

Quote
≈ 1150W, +0% ~ +15% (with 93% PSU efficiency @ 25 C)

Does that mean it uses 1150watts, and your total power will be based upon the efficiency of your PSU?

Or does it mean it uses 1150watts with a 93% efficient PSU?

I have a meter that I used to measure mine, and it came out a little over 1200watts with a 94% PSU.  I'm not sure how accurate my meter is, so I'm curious what others are seeing?

Thanks.
See my review, I have measured the power consumption at wall when the hash rate average is about 8Th/s.

Wow, 1382watt, that's a lot more than I measured.

Anyone else out there have readings?

Too much speculation before official information came out. One of the official Canaan distributors talking about 17 TH/s and 1300-1400W consumption.

I'm guessing the 761 is just for them to use up their inventory of the old chips.
