I am 16 years old (is it early ?) but started using this cryptocurrency when i was 15 (one year back). I think the tech savvy youth would be using it more but experienced investors are also involved in it as it is a global currency.

How about 16 or below, why don't you put it in the poll? Is it too weird if someone who is under 16 years old to use Bitcoin?

As there seems to be some confusion and ambiguity in the wording of the poll, are we selecting the age bracket we, ourselves, fall into to determine the actual average age?  Or are we just guessing what we think the average age of Bitcoin users might be?  Seems to be some of each going on in the replies.  For what it's worth, I'm in my 30s.

I am 27 years old.
I think Bitcoin is only interested in the younger generation. Enough to see the level of technical expertise and knowledge among the people, and you'll see that modern technology and the internet is only interested in young people. The older generation does not pay much attention to all new and modern things.

find it to be the opposite to be honest, most people i find that know what bitcoins is and use them are people above 25 , alot of people know what bitcoins is under 20 but they dont use them or care about them Smiley

I think the only people who would give you a good estimate would be the exchanges, because most of them have the real identity of the users. They have to adhere to all these stupid KYC regulations and they will know exactly who they are dealing with on a daily basis. My guess would be 22 to 40 years. ^smile^

This is a good question, I have always thought it to be between 20 - 40ish age range but then kids nowadays are even more into tech then we ever were as it is more readily available, for example gaming is a huge domain where I think a lot of the younger ones will come across bitcoin as it is related in a sense technology being technology.

I think the average age of Bitcoin users is  25 - 50.  In my country people who are financially stable are those that buy Bitcoin and that is around 28 above.  Since Bitcoin were largely introduced by MLM company here like OneCoin, Bitclub, LeoCoin etc., mostly mlm people are the one adopted BITCOIN here and the average age of people involved with MLM are around 25 above.

From being here for a while now and reading many posts i would have guessed that the average age was far lower than 20 =p.  If i was to guess on how old many of the early adopters were i would guess in 30s to 40s or older, possibly a few younger but majority above 30. It seems nowadays more and mor people are coming to bitcoin though so theres a lot more diversity in the ages.
lower than 20 is very wrong,so you mean a teenagers are the most using bitcoin nowadays? as i see quite many people who come to trading could afford to buy bitcoin because they have the money and because they have a job to gain the money

in my country, the average age of  bitcoin users is still relatively young ranged from 17-45. Because in my country there is no ban on using bitcoin so bitcoin usual thing here, but bitcoin has not been legalized. Thank you

I'd be guessing early 20's.

It's skewed to early and late 20's. Coindesk had a survey like this a long time ago. We millenials are the most receptive to new technologies.

I think the average would be 20 to 30, I've seen most people from that age group using bitcoin around me. I myself lie in this group. But as -Irn-Bri said, it is hard to determine the exact value as we do not know who the user is.
