I got also an email from BAIKAL, but i asked only for a quotation for 1 and 3 pieces

1 for $4000
3 for $3700

So if you order more perhaps you will get a greater rebate.

So I got an email from Baikal offering the Giant+ for sale for $4000.

This is pretty much the opposite of their usual MO where you have to chase them for any information on sales, so they seem to be a bit desperate to unload the miners.

Perhaps $2000 will happen after all  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Mary NIU.                                                                                Today at 08:10

At 23:59 hours of 31st of July2017, we are going to be deploying 100 new Antminer S9 and 100 Antminer L3+ to cushion any unforeseen market instability that comes with the impending Bitcoin fork. The deployed 100 Antminer S9 and 100 Antminer L3+ miners will be removed from the network, decommissioned and auctioned off at a discount from 00:01 hours of the 4th of august 2017.

Cost:
Antminer S9 (including its PSU): 22 LTC
Antminer L3+ (including its PSU): 25 LTC

Buy it. Or don't.

There are always risks. By the time you have confirmed all your doubts it will be too late anyway.

I gave up mining bitcoin because I was only getting 1.6 coins a day.

It wasn't worth it.  Shocked

Hard to compare the beginning of bitcoin to now though, bitcoin has matured, there are hundreds of altcoins around... Yeah, you might make a profit by mining a small altcoin that explodes in value, but chances for that are pretty slim...

whats now end of July is coming
was there a group buy or not?

no news yet afaik.

a few posts above show baikal may have said 3200 is the best they can offer? and at that price not many are gonna want it

gg baikal

Baikal is going to alienate their customers. They do not understand the value of their customers making a profit. Potential payback of an ASIC machine is way different than a GPU which holds value after.

I am in contacts with them and lower my max price daily.

The other thing Bitmain has learned is they can not own the entire network and have to spread the hash.

I think Baikal is going to finally accept a decent price and immediately release a 5GH version and totally screw the people they just sold to. I do not trust Baikal at all.

It takes a lot to build but not much to lose
The best price they can do is 3200 USD.

That would give me about 3 months ROI from today with my electricity cost. And that is without taking all the new X11 miners into account.

Too high for me, as I said, $2000 yes, anything higher I pass.

same here. Anything above 2000 for a delivery later than a month from now is a suicide.

So what do you think the best option will be out of the A5 or the D3?

I was considering buying an L3+ , is that a good or bad idea? Just curious on everyone's opinion. Is anything coming out that would make them not very profitable? sorry i'm still a little ignorant about this industry lol

Not sure about the L3+, that's a Litecoin miner, isn't it? D3 is the best deal. Bitmain tends to dominate the market, but the first round of September shipments are sold out. They are cheaper and a lot more hash per dollar but much higher power usage. The A5 ships in October maybe. It will cost a lot, like $10k but if they deliver on their promises it can be profitable. Much less power consumption as well. If they can overclock to 38k mh like they claim without too much power draw, they may be only slightly less good than buying four D3.

Yea its a Litecoin miner, I was considering buying it as well seeing as it seems to be popular in the Litecoin market. So do you think it is possible that if I pay attention to be able to get the next batch of D3's fairly cheap? What I mean is that the resellers are marking up their 1st batch of D3's because apparently they will be able to dominate the market for the first few weeks and make extra $$$. I saw the current D3's (preorder) are selling from 6-10k. But if I wait and catch Bitmain just right I can purchase my own for their advertised $2699 a piece. Any suggestions on the best course of action? I heard that if you purchase the D3 it is better to pay with LTC or BTC than it is with bank transfer. This is probably the wrong thread to be bringing all of this up lol

LTC is the fastest and they ship in the order they were paid. Email support and get on the email list. That's how I got mine.

Hi, look at the historical data of all algo except X11 and you can see that are only dust, DGB is now pumped up artificially, 4 months ago was 1/3 of actual price with volume nearly to zero, the other coin minimally interesting  is QUARK but is worst then DGB.

Cheers W_M

Exactly, one option for Baikal holders on a multi-algo coin.

https://www.coinwarz.com/difficulty-charts/dash-difficulty-chart

Look at that, you won't ROI that on Dash.

https://www.coinwarz.com/difficulty-charts/digibyte-difficulty-chart

DGB is trending up in response. Let's come back to these charts in a week and see if a $3200 investment in an obsolete miner was a good idea.

A few months back, any miner ROI was no minimum than 6-7 months.
When baikal started with the a900 their ROI at the time was 4-5 months which was the lowest ROI of any miners

Now people want to ROI in less than 30 days... Huh Grin

Baikal are ready to ship and mine.

D3 won't ship until late september, A5 October, there will be time to ROI most of it before them.
Most people that bought baikal were mining dash. I've made more money mining DGB, MUE and here and there using nicehash.

I got ROI on all my baikals in less than 2 months.

That was two months ago, you aren't going to put a dent in that $3200 in the 5-6 weeks left before the D3 ships. Dash difficulty is already spiking, that means testing is live on lots of units. People will head to DGB right away. It's already started and going to get worse. I'm saying you should save this $3200 and buy 3 of these in a week when Baikal gets desperate.
