The old ones I already have, my intention to download the new one it's because it said that have instructions on how to configure the solo mining xP

Note: This MEGA isn't working as well, it says "Temporary Unavailable"

Mega seems fine to me just now, maybe you have a bad/old browser, try Chrome or Opera. Mining tutorial: http://forum.bbqcoin.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=5

That link seems to be down for the moment.

You can use one of these:

CaptChadd's https://mega.co.nz/#!ucIx3RAS!LpDLKjCLbn8ey4GJTQg5l2R8oeM5lVkXZ15vWB2XUe8  (new version with latest cosmetics)
FuzzyBear's http://95.138.187.100/bbq.zip  (older version without latest cosmetics)

Well, BQC is using scrypt which is FPGA and ASIC resistant atleast for the foreseeable future. So incase some company really delivers massive amounts of ASIC miners to people, and Bitcoin's difficulty skyrockets you can still mine these new, less popular chains with your old GPU's and even with CPU.

I still don't understand, even after looking at through the website. Why is it called BBQ? Is it because there is so much heat generated by the inefficient use of CPU resources that you can cook meat on it?

I'm pretty sure it was originally called that as a joke.  Nothing more.  Nothing less.  No real reason behind it.

Will someone please explain how these coins are different from Bitcoin, and why they are called "BBQ" coins?

Thanks!

All that I can say is that is 99% a LTC clone, and actually there is no reason to they be called BQC/BBQCoin, probably because Cubox loves BBQ with some bacon.

Holy sh*t  Shocked Definitely interesting times we are living in now, maybe those ASICs are coming soon to the BitCoin mining and such an excange is to be opened for all the alts, nice!

Yeah, (if you are not trollin) you can speak to him for further info though, i have totaly lost him the last days
(ask Capt for the link to c4n10's exchange also, or search the forum)

subnote:  Cheesy
Selling 40k BQC - 1 btc (as its hashrate and diff increases)
Anyone interested pm me

ps. For those saying "its a fun coin not meant to be traded", an exchange (c4n10's one) is opening for all the alt coins as far as i know, and it includes bqc too

Nice, some sort of changelog and version numbering would be nice on that download page. Brings that little extra professional look on things. Good work with the website anyways!

I will sort that out on the site, I am only just getting into the development side of things so I am learning as I go, the only change is that I have changed the client logo to one that Figroll designed for me as I thought it looked really strange having the Litecoin logo with it.

The client itself has not been changed, as in the inner workings, I just worked on the aesthetics of the logo.

Should I just add this as text under the download link?

I am going to change the download location too, to my own site, as I really don't like the free file hosting sites at all.

Excellent, proper file hosting is one big step to make it look good too.

Version numbering & changelog like this http://notepad-plus-plus.org/download/v6.3.html will work, it can even have a full list of many previous versions once it gets more versions.

I have no real knowledge about this, but shouldn't we add some checkpoints to every new version of BQC Client to keep the chain "safe"? Somebody with a better knowledge should tell more about that.

I believe your post should be in the trading section?

Nope its in correct section, its an alt.

Oh yeah I see what you mean but don't you think it should go here "Bitcoin Forum > Economy > Marketplace > Currency exchange" as you are doing a trade involving Bitcoin?
