Coin is dead or alive?
Current coin alive but no more, future is dead.
No one interested to adopt this coin. This coin still alive because minergate still support pool for bcn
Wow, what a lot of FUD. As usual from this thread, which I don't frequent anymore because of FUD.
As of right now, BCN is number 18 on Coinmarketcap, which is up from position 35 which it was a while back and I think I recall sometime when it was much lower, in the 60s somewhere. https://coinmarketcap.com/ Things change but as you can see it's trending up. Here is the trend line from 2014 to present:
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bytecoin-bcn/#chartsSome ups and downs (and some obvious spikes that were clearly temporary in nature) but as you can see, the overall trend line shows a slow climb in value.
There are six well-known mining pools for BCN, not "just minergate" and there are others beyond the six well-known ones.
BCN is up today again, +84-88 percent change over 24 hours for BCN/BTC pair on Poloniex depending on when you look at the figures. Yes, it's still active on Poloniex.
Changer, HitBTC, BTCMarket, CryptoEscrow.eu also are available. Oh, and changelly at
https://changelly.com/exchange/BTC/BCN/ for which there is a button right on the coinmarketcap listing. For anyone who cares to use these exchange systems.
You can technically trade it over OpenBazaar (decentralized market) as well, but only slowly.
See
https://gist.github.com/drwasho/aa6ab79e92f2a876073eOr you can try making a listing in your store and see what happens. Get creative.
Oh, and now you can actually set up an OpenBazaar instance to accept whatever is your favorite altcoin for payment. So if you want to set up OpenBazaar store to accept BCN for payment for goods you offer for sale, YES you can do that. Nobody was paying attention when OpenBazaar developers announced this, but anyway I posted it so that you would know, here is the link.
https://bytecointalk.org/showthread.php?tid=13570FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS in the link above if you want to do that. If you have issues raise them with the OB team not with me, I didn't design it, it's just great they made that available.
Decentralized currency exchange Bitsquare is a place where it would be great to be able to trade BCN, but right now it is not formally supported. That is an issue that has to be addressed via the dev team.
The issues that have to be accomplished for BCN to appear on the Bitsquare (bitsquare.io) decentralized exchange, which will soon be renamed to bisq, are here:
https://bytecointalk.org/showthread.php?tid=457Someone offered a bounty to have it happen of 0.2 BTC
There are other requirements that the Bitsquare developer has in order for the BCN developers to have BCN accepted on Bitsquare, those are outlined here: https://forum.bitsquare.io/t/how-to-add-your-favorite-altcoin/46
These requirements MUST BE MET before anything can occur on Bitsquare / bisq, and it is a process that takes time, if you want BCN to be on Bitsquare's DECENTRALIZED CURRENCY EXCHANGE, then you need to open an issue on the BCN github at
https://github.com/amjuarez/bytecoin/issues so that when the devs next make commits and testing your issue will be considered.
In case you are curious who am I, I am just some person who had a neat idea, and I worked with BCN developers and the community to get it implemented in BCN.
History on that here
