I am not discouraging hunters to join bounty campaigns that requires you to download their app or wallet. This is just a friendly reminder to everyone that we should be careful since there have been some malicious apps used to collect personal information and steal funds from mobile/pc. There were also instances where hackers were able to exploit the vulnerabilities of some apps.

If you still wish to continue and download their app, at least take some measures like not storing your private keys/seed phrase in your phone/pc to protect your funds.

Thanks for your warning. Actually, now many ICO or IEO require bounty hunters to download their e-wallet to be able to pay token quickly and easily. and I only download the project's wallet if the project is really potential and their project is appreciated by experts.

It seems to me that the requirements to download the application to a computer or laptop is more dangerous than on Android.  On this occasion, I talked with one specialist who told me that there is so far no opportunity to undetectedly steal personal data from your smartphone using some kind of application that would pass verification through the Play Market.  Although in any case, you should always be careful and check everything that you install on your device.

Why not have a second cheap laptop (may be even bought used) with clean windows, that will be used only for such bounty app installs?

This is true, it is better to avoid any downloads to your devices, especially if this is a new application of a little-known project. As a result of negligence, many lose their money. I recently checked my phone for viruses and found several viruses, so you need to remember that regular checking your phone for viruses is also necessary in order to protect yourself as much as possible.

I am lucky that I was fully aware and informed about this kind of hacking scheme. But then again, downloading an app just a for a few cents or dollars will not even attract gullible victims. And one of my countermeasure when someone is telling me to do that in bounty is to hear the response of the first people who have downloaded that app if in any  case I find the bounty very attractive.

I think many bounty campaigns are asking to download applications on a mobile phone but will not steal our personal data. Maybe I'm wrong but if it happens, then it's better not to join the project bounty campaign because in the end it will only become a scam.
Majority of the bounty campaigns are putting that as a rule to participate because you can get the address to receive your payment through the app and this time im participating in a campaign who give a mandatory for participants to download the wallet and so far I never got any problem and everything fine. Scammer will not try to put a lot of effort to create such a wallet to scam.
But it doesn't mean if there was no.

for some cases of the virus, indeed I have never experienced it. but by downloading the bounty app I was once exposed to a scam. at that time the project was a platform game based on the tournament with the project token reward. but in the end there was no continuation of the project (the project died).

I guess people should have a special laptops/mobiles phone for using trusted wallets applications. If an application is not well reviewed by trusted people or communities, then don't mix it with your trusted applications.
The other alternatives is using it on virtual machine on thesame computer or the using it ib different account on your computer

Yes, I think that could help us to prevent the untrusted application that we want to install on our phone. We can use the other phone to install and use that phone for trying to apps so we can know if the apps are safe or not. But the best thing that we can do is not downloading the apps because we don't want something worse will happen with us.

The virtual machine can also a solution for us if we want to know more about the project, and that will not harm our computer if we install it into the machine. But still, be careful to download the apps because we never know what will happen later.

Why not, if for example it is published in the play market, then they check the application for viruses with its own antivirus. Also in the system itself, you can change the permissions requested by the program itself. But it will not be superfluous to check applications on the github. In any case, here everyone decides whether he needs it or not.
Why not what? Nothing in my OP says "do not download".

You have everything correctly spoken in your posts, but unfortunately not every beginner will understand half of your text, since many people who are very poorly versed in computer grammar are interested in cryptocurrencies. For example, I saw a trader who had everything on the phone and he successfully traded, and when I asked if he was afraid he would lose everything, he replied that everything was stored in the cloud and in case of losing the phone he could always restore his applications.

There are many ways to avoid malware app, even if bounty hunter required download to receive their rewards, first thing is don't download that app on your daily main phone, recommend find a backup phone or vmware install android emulator, be careful everything to protect our crypto assets.

I agree that we must be careful when downloading wallet applications. Ensuring a safe application is the best choice because it protects the data we have. If we want to use a mobile wallet, it's better to use the version from the developer team

Personally i don't see the reason why anyone will participate in a campaign that requires you to download app because if every campaign is asking us to download app, how much of space do we have on our android to do all that, you better be wise, do not let anyone steal your information.

What if that is the only way to receive your reward?  The app in question happens to be the wallet where your reward will be sent, won't you find the need to download it? Ofcours one has to apply caution while installing this app if you intend to receive your reward, and this does not just apply to bounty related app alone, some other apps we install in our device can also pose as dangerous and can exploit our personal info as well, it goes both ways.

I prefer to join the bounty campaigns that have no such silly requirements. Downloading third-party applications is not safe for crypto investors, the malware can clean the whole hardware, private keys less than a minute. Specific requirements should be tested and checked carefully before downloading anything.

Most of the times, I see malicious links sent to telegram groups and they have their ways in which they lure people with their enticing words.
Also, most projects that demand that apps should be downloaded, do not last long and  do not end up well as thought, except for few ones, so why then should one download them.

Malicious links are hidden by the programming skills, every telegram should open carefully the sent links in order to protect the personal computer from the virus, spyware, trojan. App downloading and giving the public address of coins that have its blockchain is a good idea for increasing the downloaded statistics on play store and Apple store.

Most of the projects that demand their bounty hunters to download their apps have no confidence that they will hit in the market without the aid of those hunters. The hunters will download it, but are they going to use it actively? I seriously doubt that. They just download it for the sake of their bounty share, right?

I see it as the recent trend now, all projects requesting us to download app and most at times I wonder how safe it may really be. I believe all bounty hunters needs to be vigilant and careful of apps we download.
