There are several websites that claim that they are 'wallets' to store Bitcoin. Some claim that they are 'Exchange' where people can trade Bitcoin. There are also those who claim to be both, but usually things like this are fraudulent sites. Usually they ask users to register and deposit Bitcoin or local currency then they run away the money. Things you need to pay attention to Use the services of a trusted and registered company:

Make sure you can verify the identity of the employee / company owner
See if they are mentioned in local and international news publications
Be careful in using your new exchange, application, and browser extensions

you are right, if you get spam about the airdrop given by an exchange similar to etherdelta. I'm different again. I got spam about upgrading the wallet from fake myetherwallet. even daily can reach 10 spam emails. I initially believed and clicked on the link provided. but after I examined it. it turns out the link is different and I have to make a new wallet address. I am lucky because in the first wallet there is no balance. so stay cautious, about exchanges, wallets and more. because there are many crime modes.

Here are scammers and hackers everywhere these days. It is because there is big money involved in the crypto and if you can get access to someone's private keys, you can steal everything without the risk to go to jail. This is a big problem and I hope there will be a  solution in the future on how to find and punish these guys

For those of you traders, please be careful with fake exchanges, because I found a VERY SAME exchange that makes no difference at all like the exchange on EtherDelta, the fake exchange link that I saw I got from my Gmail inbox, which message it was contains about giving tokens like AIRDROP, and there I am given a registration form link and in the form there is a fake EtherDelta link, and this is the link http://EtherDelta.website, and this is the original EtherDelta link https://etherdelta.com/. There is no difference at all in the two exchanges, the images, features and others are exactly the same, so please be careful.

Secure your private key, secure your wallet, do not easily believe things that invite you to get rich instantly, do not easily trust advertisements, because crime is not just at one door, who knows there are many other fake exchanges, therefore be careful.

Well we people cannot evade the inevitable which is those scammers who are giving fake exchanges. In order to have a good trade, we should assess all the details of our client before we go to release the item that we will be trading off. We should consider all the things that we needed.

in the digital world, there are many people who try to cheat one of them through the crypto exchange, I suggest to bookmark the crypto exchange site that is genuine, because the web display is almost the same as the original

That is why I always just save my link in my secure browser and go from there. Although there was a time if I remember correctly that the etherdelta website itself was hijacked or something and it was unusable for a time.

Yes there are so many fake websites that is why I am really careful with the websites I am clicking. I do always check the address then if I am really sure that this is the right site, I am saving it (bookmark). Another case for me in exchangers is if I/we can really trust the new exchangers that appears and/or those unfamiliar exchangers. To be able to check it, I am reading feedbacks about it here in bitcointalk.org.

Many fall for that kind of phishing styles are sent thru emails so just be careful next time. Always bookmarked true and legit sites of any exchange platform to avoid getting phished. Not just fake exchanges but there are lots of fakes airdrops and ico's lately spreading online and mostly of them are getting information from you especially your private keys. So keep vigilant all the time.

After Bitcoin reaching an all time high last year. the amount of fakers and scammers have significantlly increased. It is now hard sometime to determine whether you are dealing with a legit website or a scammer. Things that we can do as investors/traders so that we do not loose our money are -

1. Stop doing any deals on Telegram
2. Install Cryptonite extension on Google Chrome to verify all legit links
3. Do not share your Privatekey.
4. Use only cold storage method to store Cryptocurrency.
5. Use only top 5 exchanges to sell/buy cryptocurrency.

Above all If you treat your cryptos like FIAT or Gold. It will hard for anyone to loose them.

this is what is regarded as phishing when you see a clone site and you are being directed to register with some informations that contain your private key etc. the most important thing is that any body that is into crypto need to becareful before register or filling any crypto related form. the reason is that daily many hackers are looking for ways to steal your crypto from your wallet and you will be surprise that many of this mails are being sent to people that is involved in crypto related activities. the questions you should as yourselves is how do they get your mail address.
