The explanation for beginner's luck is that in short term gambling, the house edge doesn't have a big impact. It's just as the gambler goes further on his bets that house edge starts becoming a real threat to turn profits into losses. The formula is simple: the more you play, more you lose, as you don't have equal winning chances compared to the casino. They always have a slight advantage over gamblers, which is harmless on short run, but determining on long term.

Mindset isn't a determining factor. You can start playing with a responsible, attentive and calm mindset, but it's not going to have any impact over your bets' outcomes. On the other hand, a gambler with a wrong mindset, totally impulsive, greedy and willing to chase losses may face temporary profit, despite his conduct.

Because I realized that I didn't have enough knowledge to continue with sports betting and I was very tired of losing consecutively for 2 weeks.

The best way to avoid getting tired of it is to set up a bankroll designed for the long term. It’s normal in any form of gambling even sports betting, to go through bad weeks, or even bad months. But with a well-established bankroll, we can ride out those tough stretches. And if we’re truly dedicated to improving our skills in sports betting, who knows, maybe we can become profitable in the long run. It’s not impossible, though certainly not easy.

I know someone that gambled for the first time that lost the game immediately and he told me he is no more gambling again.

In my case, when I started betting on sports, I only lost for 2 weeks. In every game I bet on, I lost. My bad luck was so bad that I even lost in games with odds of 1.10. I didn't know how to analyze games. I just bet based on the teams I knew. The funny thing is that after two weeks of losing, I was lucky enough to win and then I stopped playing for a long time. Because I realized that I didn't have enough knowledge to continue with sports betting and I was very tired of losing consecutively for 2 weeks.

I never believed in it. It's superstition. The same is true for winning streaks and people believing they can't lose. The opposite is also true for losing streaks. It's just luck, action, and reaction if your win depends on someone else's move. The chances are the same that you will win on your first ever bet or the last one you decide to make in your life.

I remember registering on a crypto casino a few years ago and depositing some money to get a welcome bonus. I won a low-wager jackpot on my second spin but lost it all while wagering through the 50x wagering requirements.

It's just coincidence of being at the right place at the right time but like you mentioned we don't really have high expectations when we start that keep us clear but once we started to feel the dopamine from winning our mind will look for win and win more that leads to streaks of bets with increase in bet amounts is actually causing someone to face big loss.

There are also people who might not experienced luck while beginning too so it's just a myth that has no way to confirm.

When I first started gambling, I won some significant amount of money which further motivated me to continue gambling.

When we’re new, we tend to be careless, that’s pretty normal. I’ve also experienced that beginner’s luck myself, having tried different platforms, both online and in physical casinos. But sometimes, that initial luck blinds us into thinking we’re invincible, that we’ve somehow learned how to beat the system. Because of this, we become unrealistic and eventually face the reality that gamblers lose in the long run.

IMO, It’s okay to celebrate our first win, but we shouldn’t get too attached to it, because it won’t happen regularly. We need to stay realistic, and if we want to consider gambling as a long-term activity, we should choose games where our skills can be used effectively.

The next time the gambler is no longer approaching the place with the intention of just having fun and allowing his luck to decide, this time around the whole process is being accompanied by a little greed, the desire to win more, and the gambler going to the decision where they can start experiencing how the system is.

Fun that turns to greed is inevitable especially to those who can’t handle win/loss feelings in the casino. It’s very hard to stay your goal for fun of you are experiencing profit since you will think already your future expenses in case you manage to win that’s why new gambler is always motivated to gamble again without realizing the house edge that will beat them in the long run.

It’s important to always remember that gambling is a business’s with a goal to get profit from players using their games that gives them advantages.

When I think about this, I always snap about dreaming of becoming rich on gambling.

When I first started gambling, I won some significant amount of money which further motivated me to continue gambling. Like any other gambler, later on I found myself losing more money than ever. Which is why I have always thought about whether beginner’s luck was real. To me, it didn’t make sense that the machine or the game knows if the player is a beginner so there’s no such thing as a beginner winning more than an experienced gambler.

But now that I thought about it, I realized that the beginner’s luck had more to do with the player itself than outside factors. As a beginner, you have no expectations. You do not know what’s possible. What can you win, what can you lose. There is no pressure of playing which is why you are just able to win. But a few rounds after that, you are already expecting to win. There is the need to perform better and get more money than the previous round. And that is the explanation for a beginner’s luck. It’s just our mindset.

Your thoughts are acceptable. However, some think that beginner accounts have a greater chance of winning. I'm not sure about that, but some gambler friends who play slots on local sites seem to do it.
When they don't get any more wins, they look for a new site or with the same site but create a new account. They think with a new account, they get more chances to get a big win. So is the welcome bonus that is usually given.
It violates the terms of the site, but they think as long as it is not known, then they will be safe to play.

Begginer's luck is just a myth, not an established fact; it just happens to new players. If you're going to get lucky, you're going to get lucky regardless if you are a new or an old player. It just happens to those beginers who won the first time they gamble, and they keep the buzz about the begginer's luck. There's even a chance that there's only a small percentage of beginners that actually experienced this beginner's luck.

The first time you hit the casino and start gambling, you go to taste the system and see how it works. You just play based on trying out luck, and if it favours you on the first and second trial, the winning and its amount become tempting.

The next time the gambler is no longer approaching the place with the intention of just having fun and allowing his luck to decide, this time around the whole process is being accompanied by a little greed, the desire to win more, and the gambler going to the decision where they can start experiencing how the system is.

Well I won’t say there is anything like beginners luck but almost everybody into gambling today experienced this same thing. Well to me I would say it happens because when you want to start gambling you don’t even know much about so many options yet and all u do is just go for the win, GG, over1 and over2 so with your games look more safe with this options

Another thing again is when you are new into gambling you tend to follow your instinct more, you don’t have to contemplate much on your pickings, and again you don’t begin to check statistics and Head 2 head. It just like when you have enough free funds to gamble. Just think of it when a betting platform gift you bonus or free bet, you can see how it easy to win with them than when it your money, it also the same case of when you are new into gambling.

Sometimes I will say it the mindset, every beginner have it in mind already that he is going to win and maybe that helps too and as a beginner you also don’t really know much about odds already so you just pick your games without even evaluating the odds.

I also had similar experience for my first time as a gambler, I can never forget that story. It was my first year in the University and I knew nothing about gambling, except for the fact that people stake their money on some options in sport and then they win some more money or lose their initial stake, this was because my roommates always talked about it a lot because they were gamblers.

Even while they talked about it a lot, I still wasn’t motivated to give it a try as I didn’t know how to go about even. If I wanted to attempt it. So one day, one of them came to me telling me about a fixed game they bought and convinced me of how sure the game was, so I gave them a few dollars and they went, I never knew the games or the options they chose but what I know is that they handed me the game’s coupon when they got back. Luckily for my first time, the game was a huge success and I won about 10x my initial, I couldn’t believe it, and that event motivated me to learn how to gamble.

"Beginner's luck" is something that happens to someone sometimes and I think we've all experienced it to a greater or lesser extent. There are many beginnings in gambling because there are many different games... and sometimes when we decide to try something new, we can unexpectedly win at the very beginning.

OP is right about expectations... after a good start everyone expects it to happen again, but that's kind of a trap. Too high expectations in gambling will lead to losing money and disappointment in many more cases than winning, and that is why it is not good. Don't expect much... deposit as much as you can afford to lose, have fun & enjoy yourself, and if your day is anything you might win. And if you lose just relax, things like that happen... take a break and try again after a while, maybe it will be better.

In other words, a beginner is ready to take risks where an experienced player will be careful. And often the beginner's risk is rewarded. Even if not, the beginner did not have high hopes for winning, because he is not yet caught up in the excitement and easily treats losing.
Well, that's one point of view. But there is another point of view, which is that casino algorithms work on various triggers, including the game of a beginner. Of course, such interference in the algorithm of the game is definitely unacceptable for an honest casino. However, this is almost impossible to prove. By the way, such "marketing" techniques are extremely common in play2pay and other online games, for example, MMO.

I agree with your conclusion still how more than 50% of beginners (in both trading and gambling) are able to see profits (please note only 'see') whereas non-beginners face loss even on the first round itself. For example, if now I open and play dicing, my first roll will be against myself and then I need to go martingale and then ned to reset the seeds so that I could recover what I lost in my first roll.

I know someone that gambled for the first time that lost the game immediately and he told me he is no more gambling again.
Unfortunately, my ever first dicing was profitable and I still remember it. I was about plan to collect up to 1 BTC from the faucet claiming but suddenly faced consequent losses and martingale led to zero balance. I learned martingale strategy before that from this forum and I googled how to profit from dice gambling using that strategy then tried on a crypto gambling house still I was able to see my profits but never got realized.

Beginner’s Luck
Believe it or not, online gambling operators don't look at newcomers, beginners or professional bettors, when they make a deposit and start betting, that's when the operator looks at and follows the game, Initially they will give you a win, then that is what most gamblers experience.

Therefore, if you are gambling today and luck is on your side, don't waste that opportunity, I mean luck never comes twice, so withdraw all your winnings and return to gambling a few days later, with a strategy like that you escape the monitoring of gambling operators and you might get lucky again, but most gamblers don't do that, They are ambitious and greedy so they make bets on the same day with large amounts, they are sure they will win again, don't expect real losses to happen to you.

To me, it didn’t make sense that the machine or the game knows if the player is a beginner so there’s no such thing as a beginner winning more than an experienced gambler.
I really don't know why it's usually same for most people. Mine was not much different back then. A friend introduced me to sport betting and he gave me the first game I played and won a good amount of money in my local currency. Upon second trial, I placed the game my self and yea, I also won this gave me some kind of courage that gambling would be so easy and if I could play more often, I would be able to master it and make a good amount of money unfortunately it backslided. I decided to place a bigger bet on one of my games and of course you know what happened next, I lost everything that day. So it's normal kind of how a beginner gets to see trading so easy until he understands it..
The thing there is that, the possibility of first-time winning may be fixed by the casino if the gambler is playing in-house games that are run by the casino, the possibility of having such outcome may work in such scenarios, but in sports bets most especially on live matches that the sports bookies have no control over the outcome of sports game's such as football games the likelihood for the sport booking site to manipulate and give the newcomers a first time winning is low.

So this feeling of beginner luck is just based on individual mindset because as much as there are first winnings, there will also be first loses as well, applying all discretion while gambling for the first time is very important in other not to get carried away with first experience either winning or losing.

You are trying to explain beginner's luck from the position of sensations and perception, while gambling is the result of a precise science, namely, mathematics. Here, everything is calculated and predetermined in advance based on number theory and probability.

Beginner's luck is associated with RTP (less than 95%). The essence of which is that the longer you play, the less chances you have of winning. Consequently, a beginner is just starting to play and his playing time is minimal, which slightly increases the probability of winning.

Expectations is the real reason why people fail in their work. If you don't expect you will never face any issue in your life. What you are saying is correct, the example that you wrote is true in every sense. This is how someone new to gambling gets addicted because he is always chasing the money he lost which he was expecting to win. It is just the start but you have now realized, what will happen next will be worst if you start this journey expecting to win every time you are playing a game.

for most beginners, the experience varies based on persons, some had the best of games at the time they started gambling while for others, they played for a very long time before they had their first win. luck varies with individual and so for some persons they might be luckier at the start which has a of getting really involved in gambling since they will conclude that things will be going in that order. once you become an old timer, the tendency of allowing greed to get at you is always their which will make you become too expectant of a win and result in losing too many games.

the machine obviously doesn't have the ability to dictate who is an old timer or who is just getting started, it is just our mind that is playing trick on us because at the start, your lack of expectation of a huge win doesn't push you into believing that you should always win in all your prediction.
