Try Comodo Firewall (Free) or
Comodo Internet Security Suite ($39 yearly)

I am now using the Avira anti virus. I haven't used any other anti virus aside from Avira because so far the Avira never fails me. This is so effective base on my experience that my personal computer doesn't process slowly ,and through the help of avira my personal computer can get rid of viruses.
According to my knowledge and experience, i would recommend AVG antivirus including internet farewell settings as well as avast antivirus. Once i faced issues with avast antivirus, but it was just a minor issue.

For me it's simply Windows Defender. It does it's job, though Malwarebytes is a good alternative-

I guess there is no best, but IMO the closest to the best is DoctorWeb.
I could recommend ESET or Northon. Everyone has different criteria but as long as you use any antivirus at all this is better than not using it at all because still many people don't take security very much serious and when they got infected it's someone else's fault.
