Avast Antivirus + Malwarebytes works great for me.

avast is free and works well.

Free anti virus can't handle heavy virus  Sad

I prefer Kaspersky since their offer high quality of anti virus system although it consume much RAM

I've only recently started using Avast and I'm pretty happy with it but I've only ever tried AVG (which I've used for years) and Avast. So far I'd say Avast seem to use a lot less system resources than AVG. Does anyone have any other suggestions for a real lightweight antivirus?

Don't download anything sketchy.  If you suspect something, run Malwarebytes and then look to internet resources to solve any dditional problems.

A friend once managed to download a rootkit to my computer once.  It was pretty awful.  Advertisements would play in the background as in not caused by my internet browser, so I would be watching Youtube Videos or playing online games when these ads would start playing and scaring me.

don't do lame things in windows is the only thing u need

antivirus' only purpose is eat computer's resources and your money

I think that's a bad advice lol. Many antivirus are free and still good.
But I agree that you should always be careful with what you download, and what sites you visit.
